Vera cleared her throat, stepping towards the man confidently. "I-"
"I said, any man, Vera," William interrupted, giving her a look of warning.
The girl immediately retreated, keeping her head low in shame. Luna watched her fists clench and unclench in frustration. Though she didn't like her one bit, she felt bad for the girl who was just shot down by the egotistic alpha. The time was certainly not good for women in general, she thought, looking at the frowns on the faces of the many women that surrounded Vera.
"Alpha." A man said, stepping forth timidly from the crowd.
"Yes, Ronin?" William asked, forcing a smile at the dust-covered man.
The man called Ronin pointed to Luna, his eyes spitting venom as he glared at her. "She hurt my sister yesterday during the hunt." He said, his voice shaking in anger.
The goddess frowned at the man. "That's not true." She said, turning to the alpha. "I didn't hurt anyone."
