I awoke once again to the sounds of bird chirping in the early morning. My body was sore and my head was throbbing. But, despite that, something felt different.
I looked at Bradley as he slumbered next to me and smiled to myself. He was so beautiful and vulnerable. I reached out to him and tucked a lock of his dirty blond hair behind his ear.
He took a deep breath and wrapped his arm around me lazily, pulling me tightly to him. A moment later he was snoring again. I smiled into his chest.
Sighing, I looked at him. "I have to do something," I said quietly as I gazed upon his slumbering face. "I'll be back though, I promise."
I snuggled into him for a while, enjoying his warmth and his affection.
I didn't know how, but I was going to make this right to them. I was going to make it right to all of them.
I wouldn't betray them. Now or ever.
