10 Second Test: Temple of Light or Darkness?

The temple was white, the walls, the floor and the ornaments which adorned pillars along the side of the path were white. Reaching the end of the corridor, Iris was faced with twenty quarts pillars circling a yin and yang symbol in the middle of the floor. Because of Iris' small stature, she had to jump to see the top, on ten of the pillars, every second one had a blindingly white stone placed on the top, contrasting the pitch black stone in her hand.

"what do I do now?" Iris looked around for a clue as to how she should complete her quest. Only for her search to lead her back to the centre of the room with the symbol. She wasn't sure what to do but then she thought of the ornaments on the wall coming in, all were scales that you would associate with Libra.

—balance? do I have to balance something?—

The only thing that came to mind was the black stones in her pocket.

"well, I have no better idea..."

Iris pulled out the black stones and started to place them on every second pillar between the white stones. As soon as she placed them all the temple started to change: The whites grew whiter yet the shadows from the pillars grew increasingly darker. The whole temple became a chessboard, full of contrasting shades. Iris felt a strange buzz from her body. She felt her body become lighter, like a weight she hadn't noticed before was lifted. As this happened the temple around her started to fade away. The Light around her became brighter for a second, then dissipated, picturing a different theme, this time around, Iris was standing in a forest.
