Chapter Fifty Six

I finished my soup and was slowly finishing the brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and strawberries when I looked at everyone's plates. Everyone seemed to have been finished with their first desert and pilling more food or they were chatting while drinking some pumpkin juice.

I savoured the last bite and look to my right, Milicent seemed in her element talking to everyone near her. Daphne still seemed to stare and as much as I wanted to ignore it, it was hard. I felt bothered yet could no do anything without being embarrassed. Annoyed again at myself, I pulled the thought back, I shouldn't try to defend her I am supposed to be mad at her.

I look at Daphne right in the eyes and she jerked a little, I put my spoon down and stood up. "What are you doing?" Milicent asked confused. "I am going to confront them to see how far I push of course," I said with mirth in my eyes. Milicent rolled her eyes and continues her conversation. In a steady beat, I walked towards the head of the table. All eyes were on me and I could feel the nervousness flow right of them.

"Pansy-" Daphne began but her voice faded as I stepped past her and headed towards the Gryffindor table. Harry seemed to notice me and jabbed Ron and pointed to me. Ron looks up from his second plate filled with pastries and tried a smile but his mouth was to full. I could hear gasps as I slid down next to Harry.

"I think my prediction was right after all," I said with a laugh. Harry pulled his hand through his hair and gave lopsided smile. "I guess I was a little too worried," he confessed.

"you had nothing to be worried about, you in the best house now," Ron said happily and I raised my eyebrows in defiance. "I pretty sure Slytherin takes the cake as the best house, we have won the house and quidditch cup at least seven times after each other," I said while grabbing a pastry.

The whole table turned silent and watched me. Now I had really done it, I wanted to hit myself on the head. Instead of that, however, I grabbed the pastry took a bite and left with a smirk on my face.

I ignored the angry glances and sat back down next to Milicent and the cheers from the Slytherin table started. "I knew it would be good to have Parkinson on our side!" Someone at the end of the table yelled. I laughed and cheered along as dirty looks were given to my table from the Gryffindors.

"Now, now students that's enough, you will have to go to bed soon, prefect please show the first years to the dorm," Headmaster Dumbledore said with a smile.

"First years stand up and follow me!" a girl with pretty brown locks and blue eyes said. I stood up with milicent as we were shuffled out the door. I couldn't help but gasp at the inside of Hogwarts. I stared longingly to the giant moving stair cases but the head girl went a different way down to the dungeons.

right by the door she said "Pureblood," and the door opened. "Listen up first years everyday, new password, on the passwords wall, got it," The perfect said with a slight annoyance. "now inside you go boys on the left side and girls on the right," She finished off before stepping in the common room. "Oh am Gemma Farley by the way, if you guys make trouble I'll do the punishing which start with hexes no off to bed,"

I knew it was all a joke to scare first years but I didn't comment on it as I followed the crowd
