Heart Demon (1)

Yuki found himself surrounded by mist, he felt like he was in a suspended state. He couldn't move, he couldn't talk, he just couldn't do anything.

Suddenly the mist began swirling and he saw his memories watching them from a third person pov. The memories began since the beginning of his life that he could remember, he was in the orphanage with aoi by his side. He could hear her laughter, something he dearly missed.

"You shall face your memories from the beginning, you'll never be able to run away this time around. I…no, we don't need another heart demon after going through one in the past. Face it and accept it, don't be a coward. You did this things and you have to acknowledge it, you were wrong that's true but it was to protect something you love." Said faunus. Yuki tried talking but he wasn't able to.

"There's no need for you to speak just listen" said faunus before continuing. "You think it's not fair right? But nothing in this life is fair no matter where. Some people act delusions claiming places like this exists just like how some rulers swear to create places like this but it's all just their fantasies."

"Accept your past and accept your identity, accept yourself and accept me! You have no other option, either this or forsake it all. But bear in mind that if you reject it and decide to abandon it all, you aren't the only one who'll suffer. People have placed their hopes on you, every strong person as responsibilities he must bear no matter how secluded he is."

A crow suddenly appeared and started talking in the same voice and in continuation of faunus words "Even I had, well I still do, so…even I have to bear some responsibilities, no matter how unbridled, arrogant and evil I may be I still have things I must take care of. Now stand up and face your past."

"Don't think too much, you're now strong, you now have me, you're no more weak so you don't have to always be cautious and suspicious. Stop overthinking and just let the wheels of fate do it work for now" said the crow. It was now obvious what or who this crow was now. Yuki just wondered why yuki appeared like a crow but faunus already replied him with this his last words.

"Okay, I'll face it now after all I should have done it a long time ago and I just kept on ignoring it. But for aoi and the people who's responsibilities I bear, I won't give up now. Let fate bring for me what it has in store, no matter what I would face it and conquer it. I will show all my enemies and even my friends including you what I'm capable of, to what extent I can do."

"Before I accept you and we become one once again, first let me face my past alone I did it myself not with your help and so I shall also face the consequences alone also." said yuki.

"Okay…I agree with you, now I must remind you, no, I must inform you. Even if you conquer your past and destroy your heart demon, it doesn't mean you could integrate with me. You have to accept my memories bit by bit."

"No! If you try to assimilate with it all together, you'll die. You are far too young to accept it all, your consciousness is not yet broad enough. Besides, it should take you millennias for you to take everything but you have a strong soul so it will be easier to assimilate with it all" said faunus. He was replying to yuki as if he could read his thoughts. It appeared funny considering he was talking as a crow now.

"I see, I also have a last question, why do I feel suppressed, I feel not wanted as if I'm being rejected?" asked yuki.

The crow just kept quiet and faced his side looking into the distance as if everything laid bare before him but such perfect picture was blemished by the dense aura of solitude and desolation surrounding him. After some time, he replied "It's still early, you shall understand this things in time to come for now face what's infront of you" said the crow before vanishing and becoming mist.

Yuki was just confused and a little bit annoyed, he still wanted to ask why he appeared as a crow.
