Chapter 29 the truth was so hurtful!

In the photos, Lu Ziyin was either hugging Xia Ningyan intimately or looking at her dotingly. There were also photos where they were kissing passionately.

Although Xia Weiyang did not care about them anymore, seeing Lu Ziyin and Xia Ningyan together was still painful.

Wearing a white wedding dress, having a doting smile, and receiving a sweet kiss were all things that she had always wanted to have.

Xia Weiyang closed her eyes for a moment. She felt calm after opening them.

She then treated the newlyweds in the photos like they were strangers.

She turned on Photoshop on her computer and expressionlessly made a background image.

Tack! Tack! Tack! The sound of high heels tapping on the floor was heard inside the office. Xia Weiyang thought it was a colleague approaching her, but she did not care.

"Little sister, long time no see," a woman standing behind Xia Weiyang said.

She was surprised to hear her sister Xia Ningyan's soft and proud voice.

Xia Ningyan's presence startled Xia Weiyang. She almost made the mistake of accidentally closing the Photoshop program.

Xia Weiyang turned around and faced her sister while maintaining an elegant smile on her face. "Hello, Xia Ningyan."

"Little sister, why are you acting so cold? Didn't you miss me?" Xia Ningyan complained. She then glanced at Xia Weiyang's computer and saw her wedding photo with Lu Ziyin.

She then bent down and pointed at the computer screen. "Xia Weiyang, did you see that? We are so compatible! Look carefully at Lu Ziyin's eyes. You can clearly see his love for me."

Xia Ningyan felt proud as she sensed the tenseness in Xia Weiyang's body.

"Does it hurt whenever you see our photo? Good. I hope it's as painful as having the flesh stripped from your bones. I want you to feel pain! Seeing you in pain makes me happy," Xia Ningyan coldly said.

"Can you believe that I snatched away your little brother? How does it feel to be scolded, insulted, and disdained by the man you love? Ha!"

Xia Ningyan laughed loudly after insulting Xia Weiyang.

"Why?" Xia Weiyang clenched her fists tightly. Her eyes were filled with sorrow as she muttered to herself. "Why? Are you always targeting me? Is it because I was adopted?"

She had wanted to ask this question for a long time.

Suddenly, Xia Ningyan's laughter came to an abrupt end.

With a ferocious face, she glared angrily at Xia Weiyang.

"That's right. You're an illegitimate daughter! You are our father's mistake!" Xia Ningyan said as she gritted her teeth.

"We only tell people you're adopted to hide the truth. Did you know that because of you, mother and father often quarrel? Because of you, father and mother's relationship has cracked. Because of you, I can never look at father the same way again!"

"You're a stain on our family's image! That's why I never liked you. I can't wait for you to die!"

Xia Ningyan almost lost control of her emotions as she said her last line.

Xia Weiyang sat motionlessly on her chair after absorbing Xia Ningyan's hurtful words.

Hearing the truth was really painful.

She was an illegitimate child of the Xia family.

This could be the reason why her father, Xia Zhixiu, acted strangely towards her. Sometimes, he was very nice to her. At other times, however, he treated her harshly.

Xia Weiyang felt like she was a target of a cruel joke.

Learning about the truth made her feel like the blood running through her body was extremely dirty.

She then started to think about the identity of her real mother.

"Xia Ningyan, why are you crying?" Lu Ziyin's voice was suddenly heard nearby.

Seeing Lu Ziyin immediately brightened Xia Ningyan's face. She ran towards him with tears in her eyes. She then nestled herself in between Lu Ziyin's arms.

Lu Ziyin gently patted Xia Ningyan's back to comfort her. Seeing her sad was extremely hard for him.

After a moment, he raised his head, and a fierce light shot out from his eyes. His sharp eyes stared directly at Xia Weiyang.

"Xia Weiyang! You really haven't changed after all," he said.

Xia Weiyang was not surprised at Lu Ziyin's reaction. She knew that he would always side with Xia Ningyan despite her cruel actions.

"Xia Weiyang, did you ask young master Shi Jue to do it? Do you really want to see the Lu family disappear completely? You are really evil!" Lu Ziyin shouted.
