Jiang Yuyu's weird habit

Amelia was in total confusion. She couldn't understand why this woman was looking at her hand, up and down. Was there something on her hands? Apart from some oil stains and food stains, there was nothing else on her hands. Amelia couldn't see anything else.

So, what was this Ming Ruolan looking for?

"What are you doing?"

"I am looking for any marks," Ming Ruolan frowned and looked up at her. "You said that you did hard work to earn money but your hands seemed fine. Jiang Yuyu, tell me honestly, did that Concubine Ming torture you again? Did she make you work for the money?"

Amelia arched her brows.

Concubine Ming?

So, it meant that apart from Jiang Muxun's mother who is the main wife, there is another concubine in the Jiang Mansion?

Looks, like there are a total of three women, she needed to deal with in order to survive in the General Mansion - Jiang Muxun, her mother, and this concubine Ming who often tortures her.

"No, she did not," Amelia replied with a frown. "Infact, when I was coming back to the capital, I got robbed."

Shen Li(choking on his food): ".............."

Ming Ruolan: ???????

"WHAT!!! YOU GOT ROBBED??? WHEN? WHERE? WHAT HAPPENED?" she asked. Her face turned serious and she immediately began to scan Amelia up and down, examining whether she was injured or not. Only after seeing that there was no injury or wound on Amelia's body, did she sigh in relief. However, her eyes were still wide with concern. "Are you okay? How did this happen?"

"I was coming from the Mystical Forest -"

"Wait! Mystical Forest?" Ming Ruolan arched her brows. "What were you doing in that Mystical Forest? Didn't you say you were going to the temple to ask the abbot to ask for some blessing? How did you end up in the Mystical Forest?"

Ming Ruolan fired questions back to back. "And, where is your maid, Yu Fei? Why is she not here with you? Also, who is this little guy?" she asked, pointing towards Shen Li.

Amelie blinked her eyes slowly. Oops!!! Looks like, the real owner lied to Ming Ruolan saying that she was going to the temple. Instead, that stupid girl went to that forest and got killed.

Sigh! What a fate!

"He is Shen Li," Amelia introduced. "I met him in the Mystical Forest. I call him Little Li. He is the one who saved my life in that forest. And, that's why, from today onwards, he is going to be my little brother." she informed.

"Little Li, greet Miss Ruolan," she said to Shen Li.

Shen Li nodded obediently. He smiled at Ming Ruolan, "Greetings Miss Ruolan..."

Ming Ruolan: "................" Huh? What the heck is going on?

"H-hello," Ming Ruolan nodded weirdly and looked at Amelia in disbelief. "Yuyu, are you okay? Are you injured? How did you pick a younger brother in a forest?"

"It's a long story...." Amelia sighed.

"I have all the time in the world," Ming Ruolan pressed on curiously.

Amelia looked at her and shrugged. She knew that she couldn't get out of this matter. This woman, Ming Ruolan wouldn't stop bugging her unless and until she narrated everything to her. So, from the beginning, Amelia began to tell her about everything that happened when she arrived here, in this fake world.

However, she did a few changes to the story. Instead of telling Ming Ruolan how she met Shen Li, she told her that when she went into the forest, three thieves surrounded her. So, in order to save her life, she gave them her money and made a run for her life. While running away, she met Shen Li who helped her in getting out of the jungle safely.

"Oh my God!" Ming Ruolan gasped in shock. "Yuyu, you could have died in that forest. I can't even imagine what those thieves might have done to you if you would have got caught by them." she expressed in horror.

"I know," Amelia agreed with her.

"Thankfully, you ran away and nothing happened to you," Ming Ruolan said and gave a grateful look to Shen Li. "Little Li, thank you for saving my friend."

Shen Li blushed. His cheeks heated up when he was suddenly praised by someone. Apart from his mother, no one else had praised him so sincerely. So, when he was praised by another woman, he couldn't help but feel a little shy. "M-miss Ruolan, it was n-nothing....." he stammered in embarrassment.

Seeing him like this, Amelia chuckled and pinched his cheeks. "Aww.... is someone being shy," she teased.

"Sister Jiang!!! I am not shy!!!!" Shen Li mumbled, pouting his lips and looking down to hide his red face.

"Haha... Ruolan, isn't he cute?" Amelia laughed.

"Cute..." Ming Ruolan agreed. "Even I feel like touching his cheeks."

Hearing that, Shen Li's face turned even redder.

Ming Ruolan laughed at his cute reactions. However, upon close observation, she noticed that Shen Li was a lot thinner, a little malnourished, and also, his clothes were of poor quality, even torn and stitched at some places. There were a few questions that came to mind which she couldn't help but ask.

"Yuyu, where are his parents? And, how did they agree to send him with you? Don't tell me you abducted this little guy just because your is cute?" Ming Ruolan inquired and looked at her with suspicion.

"Abduction? And me? Why would I do that?"

"Really?" Ming Ruolan asked, not at all believing her words. "It's really hard to believe that you did not abduct this little cute guy. Do you think I will forget about your habit? You have a knack for abducting and collecting cute things."

"Remember, that time, when we were small, you abducted my brother just because he was fat and looked cute. Then there was the time when we were six and you took away my cat just because it looked cute. Also, there was that time, when you sneaked into your old neighbor's backyard and stole all of his flowers just because they seemed cute to you."

Amelia: ".............."

Shen Li: ".............." Ah!!! No wonder Sister Jiang is so good at robbing people.
