Chapter 81: Men are no good

Hank Clegg's inner monster had just begun to run wild.

Then, he heard the voices of the little ones outside the door.

Oh god, if his babies saw him pouncing like a wolf on their mother, would they think their daddy was a beast?

They had just agreed at dinner to keep a distance before marriage.

No no no, he must hide. Hank Clegg hurriedly rolled off and hid under the bed.

"Mommy—Has Mommy slept yet?" The bedroom door was opened again, and Victoria's two children, dressed in bunny pajamas, stood at the entrance hand in hand.

Michael yawned, glanced at the dark room.

He told his sister: "I told you that you were mistaken, right? Where did you hear the noise? Ah—I'm so sleepy. Sis, let's go back to sleep…"

Victoria's older daughter, Dodo, wisely scanned the room and then relaxed as well.

"Ah—" She, too, yawned, "we must have heard wrong, but let's go and check anyway. Mommy's safety is most important."

The two little ones walked hand in hand to Victoria's bed.
