Something always goes wrong
It was supposed to be a pleasant enough day.
We would eat semovita and bitter leaf soup garnished with goat meat, stockfish, and dried fish drink, and usher in the new year with screams of joy and a display of fireworks.
I had planned out how the day would go to a tee.
Nothing was supposed to go wrong.
All the fights, tension, heat, and negativity around the house wouldn't make it into the new year.
