Painful Addiction

"Mariam, are you back yet? When are you returning?" I inquired, already bored of staying indoors for the entirety of the previous week.
"Not yet o. They are on strike but I am not fully prepared to come home yet.
"My parents have been phoning, asking me to return since I am not even in a different state but I am not ready to do house chores o. I will simply chill here for two more weeks," She said.
"But I'll be completely bored!" I whined into the phone.
"It is well with your soul. I am about to go out to see one of my friends off-campus, I will talk to you later, bye!" She said hurriedly and hung up.
"It's not your fault at all, this girl. It's me that decided to beg you to come back," I mumbled to myself, idly fiddling with my phone.
