CHAPTER 47

YOU LIED TO ME!

TIARA

I didn’t remember how I left the pharmacy or got home because I was so eager to get answers. Mara, who was walking behind me, was constantly fussing and telling me to act like an adult and avoid making a scene. Like I could manage that. I had been living a lie all my life, and now she was telling me to act diplomatically.

I discovered my father reading the newspaper in the living room. He was just standing there like nothing happened, and this pissed me off even more. I felt numb all over. I trembled from years of unreleased wrath.

“I want you out of my house.” I yelled from across the room, but I kept my motives to myself. He simply needed to glance at my face to realize that I knew everything.

He oddly appeared to be almost relieved hearing this. He had been under a lot of stress, not because my mother had a fake sickness, but because of his own awful deception. In order to save his shady business from his own ineptitude, he had forced me and sold me.
