Again, I was on the verge of exploding at his remark, but decided I’d rather have him as a friend than an opponent. After all, he was my husband.

But why did everyone care so much about my profits? I was married to one of the wealthiest men in the world and hadn’t painted in about two weeks. I no longer had to suffer over my artwork. Plus, I was completely without inspiration. My internal struggle had been numbing thanks to Vincent. 

I grinned and nodded at him. 

“Okay,” I replied. “I’ll give it my all.”

After another kiss from him and directions to the door, I walked out. I drove all the way home with my head held high.
