My breathing quickened, and the trembling in my hands came back. The tabloids spilled out onto the polished marble floor of the entrance as Mara grabbed me by the shoulders and gave me a vigorous shake.

“No! I told you not to panic,” she screamed.

“How am I supposed to stay calm when you’re screaming at me?” I sobbed. My gaze landed on the newspapers on the floor. “What’s up with all these tabloids?” I asked her with my eyes still widened. 

Mara responded by giving me a tight embrace. 

“It will be alright,” she assured me.

Now that I realized how horrible this was, I thought, okay. I sank to the ground on shaky legs, and Mara moved back to make room for me, almost as if she were offering me a respectable place to grieve. I stretched out and snatched the Gossiped with stiff fingers.
