Chapter 6

"I'm sorry but I have other things to attend to," she answered, not caring to see the hurt in his eyes after she had declined his request.

"When next do you wish to see me?" He asked her, hoping for a positive reply.

"Tonight," she gave a fast reply and to his shock.

"Tonight?" He repeated and in total disbelief.

"Was she starting to feel this comfortable with him?"

"Only on one condition," she added, making him curious.

"And what may that condition be?"

"You will have to introduce me to the rest of the family," she answered.

"Alright, I will. Be here by 9, I'll be waiting for you by the entrance," he said with a bright smile.

She nodded with a straight face and walked away just immediately after his reply.

Olivia got home, she checked her phone and saw the different calls she had gotten from her colleagues. She thought of revealing all that had happened to them but ended up deciding to handle it all on her own.

By six, she prepared herself and left, heading to the pack house. Edward had clearly told her to meet him by nine but she chose to arrive there much earlier, so she would have time to investigate.

On arrival, her heart was pounding as she approached the imposing gates of the werewolf house. The moon was full and bright, casting eerie shadows across the grounds. She could hear the distant howling of wolves, and she shivered despite the warmth of her coat.

As she made her way through the darkened gardens, Olivia couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. She knew that she was taking a huge risk by investigating the werewolf house alone, but she was determined to uncover the truth about her parents' murder.

The moment she approached the front door, she could hear voices coming from inside. She pressed her ear to the door, trying to make out what was being said. Suddenly, the door swung open, and Olivia found herself face to face with a group of snarling werewolves.

For a moment, Olivia froze, unsure of what to do. But then she remembered why she was there, and she stood her ground. "I'm here to see someone," she said, her voice steady despite the fear that was coursing through her veins.

The werewolves exchanged glances, and then one of them stepped forward. "You're not welcome here," he growled. "Leave now, before we decide to make you leave."

Olivia refused to back down. She knew that she was close to uncovering the truth, and she wasn't going to let a group of werewolves scare her off. She took a step forward, her eyes blazing with determination.

"I'm not leaving until I get to see him," she said. "If you try to stop me, I'll make sure that he punishes every single one of you." She threatened.

The werewolves hesitated, and then one of them stepped forward. "Fine," he said. "Give us the name of the person you are here for."

"I'm here to see Edward," she informed them, causing each of them to stare one another in the face.

"I mean, I'm here to see Alexander," she immediately corrected herself, mistaking the looks on their face as something else. Probable she felt they reacted that way because she had mentioned the wrong name.

"You seem very confused but you're on your own. We won't help you, and if anything happens to you, it's not our problem."

With that, the werewolves stepped aside, allowing Olivia to enter the house. She knew that she was taking a huge risk, but she was determined to uncover the truth about her parents' murder, no matter what it took.

As Olivia stepped inside the werewolf house, she was immediately hit by the smell of damp earth and wet fur. The interior was dimly lit, with only a few candles flickering in the corners of the room. She could hear the sound of claws scraping against the wooden floorboards, and she knew that she was surrounded by danger.

Olivia refused to let her fear get the best of her. She had come too far to turn back now. She took a deep breath and began to explore the house, searching for any clues that might lead her to the truth.

As she moved through the darkened rooms, Olivia couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The walls were lined with strange symbols and markings, and she could hear strange whispers echoing through the halls. She knew that she was in a place of great power, and that she was treading on dangerous ground.

Yet still, she pressed on. She searched every room, every nook and cranny, looking for any sign of her parents' killer. Finally, after what felt like hours of searching, she found what she was looking for.

In a small room at the back of the house, Olivia discovered a hidden chamber. Inside, she found a collection of ancient books and scrolls, each one filled with arcane knowledge and dark magic. At the center of the room, she found a strange altar, covered in blood.

As Olivia approached the altar, she felt a sudden surge of power coursing through her veins. She knew that she had stumbled upon something truly dangerous, something that could destroy her if she wasn't careful.

Yet again, she refused to back down. She knew that she had to uncover the truth, no matter what the cost. So, with a deep breath, she began to make way to whatever had drawn her attention but suddenly she bumped into a strong body.

She tilted her head upwards to see what she had bumped into but the room was too dark for her to see his face.

"What are you doing here?" The voice asked, causing her to freeze at the position.

"I… I am lost," she stammered.

"You do not belong here. Who let you in?"

Olivia felt so scared.

"She is with me," Edward said, walking majestically towards Olivia.

Again she had lost her chance of getting hold of the truth.

"Learn to keep your friends out of my lane," the other voice warned.

Edward held Olivia's hand and led her out of the room.

As for Olivia, with hope and newfound determination, she swore she would return back to the chamber. They both made their way through the darkened halls of the werewolf house.

She had it in mind that she had to act quickly if she was going to catch the killer before they could strike again.

"How come you arrived here much earlier than we had agreed?"

"I guess I couldn't wait to see you," she replied with the quickest lie she could think of.

As they moved through the house, Olivia could feel the eyes of the werewolves upon her. She knew that they were watching her every move, waiting for her to make a mistake. She refused to be intimidated. She had the power of the ancient texts on her side, and she knew that she could use it to defeat the killer.

Finally, Olivia emerged from the werewolf house and into the cool night air. She could see the full moon shining brightly overhead, casting an eerie glow over the surrounding forest. She knew that all the killers were out there, lurking in the shadows.

"Excuse me for a moment, I have to get the family together, before I will be able to introduce you to them."

She nodded, showing that he was excused.

The moment he left, Olivia heard a strange sound from the forest.

With a deep breath, she began to track the source of the sound through the forest. She could hear the sound of their footsteps crunching through the underbrush, and she knew that she was getting closer. Finally after what felt like an eternity, she saw a figure standing before her.

It was a massive werewolf, with fur as black as midnight and eyes that glowed like embers. Olivia could feel the power radiating off of the creature, and she knew that she was in for the fight of her life.

She refused to back down and run like a scared cockroach. With a fierce determination, Olivia charged at the werewolf, with the anger of her dead parents visible in her eyes.

For what felt like hours, the two battled in the moonlit forest. The werewolf didn't seem like he wanted to hurt her, all he did was avoid all her attacks, making her get angry.

The more she attacked, the more he dodged and the weaker she became. The werewolf left the moment he noticed that she was too weak to go any further.

With a deep sense of dissatisfaction, Olivia turned and walked away from the werewolf house, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. She knew that the power of the ancient texts was inside the little house, and she was ready to risk it all. That was the only thing she could use to protect those she loved and to bring justice to those who deserved it, according to the resources she found in her late father's bookshelf.

Olivia's heart was still pounding as she made her way back to her own home. She couldn't believe that she had actually fought with a werewolf.

She wondered where Edward had gone all of a sudden. He never showed up after he left.

She couldn't care any less, for now, she allowed herself a moment of rest. She sank down onto the couch and closed her eyes, letting the events of the past few days wash over her.

As Olivia sat on her couch, she couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over her. She remembered the days when her parents were still alive, and how they had taught her most of the things she knew about the supernatural world. They had been her mentors, her protectors, and her confidants.

Even though they were no longer with her, Olivia knew that their legacy lived on through her. She had inherited their strength, their knowledge, and their determination. She had also used those gifts to search for their killers and protect her family.

As she sat there, lost in thought, Olivia suddenly heard a knock at the door. She opened her eyes and saw that it was her cousin, Marcus. He had been one of her closest allies in the struggle to find the killer, and she was glad to see him.

"Hey," he said, stepping inside. "I just wanted to check on you. How are you holding up?"

Olivia smiled. "I'm okay. Just taking a moment to rest."

Marcus nodded. "You deserve it. I heard that you already got a lead of the people behind the death of our loved ones. You should be proud of yourself."

Olivia felt a surge of gratitude towards Marcus. He had been there for her every step of the way, and she knew that she couldn't have achieved anything without him.

"Thank you," she said. "And thank you for being there for me."

Marcus smiled. "Of course. That's what family is for."

As they sat there, talking and laughing, Olivia felt a sense of peace settle over her. She knew that there would be more challenges in the future, but for now, she was surrounded by love and support and that was all she needed.

While they were both talking, a sudden noise interrupted them.

"Wow. You did not even care to let me know before you left," she heard the voice say and immediately realized who it was.

"Did you hear anything?" She asked, looking at Marcus.

"No."

She noticed that he still had a normal expression on his face which meant he had no idea of what was going on.

"Tell him to leave at once," Edward instructed her.

As much as she had heard what he said, she refused to react or act like she heard anything, probably in order not to scare Marcus away.

"I hate to repeat myself!"
