Old Toronto

The ride there was mostly silent, with S3bastian being who he is and distracting us with his tunes. While everyone else was nervous, I was pretty much fine, as I already knew the outcome. Therefore, as I was bored, I was just doing anything as a form of entertainment. Polishing my blades, Jack takes notice.

"Impressive blade, but don't you think that you should have brought some form of gun?" He asks.

I pull my pistol from my suit jacket, "I do. I have this beauty as my pew pew." I respond, showing him my Desert Eagle.

His eyes narrow, "Aren't those illegal?"

"Yes." I tell him simply, while putting it back into my pocket.

"Judging from your tone, you don't care." He asks.

"Nope." I respond, making him roll his eyes.

"Listen kid..." He starts, but I cut him off.

"If you're going to hit me with the Overwatch has a standard speech, don't bother. I know what Overwatch stands for, what we're capable of. I've seen the hope that we bring; seen the difference we make in battles. While it is true that right now, everything we do is for humanity, there will be a time that might not be true. My advice to you, Jack, is that you might give everything to Overwatch, but don't let it define who you are. Plus, Commander Reyes already gave me the Overwatch speech."

"Why does that sound like a warning?" He asks.

"That depends on how things go." Is all I respond that. Soldier was one of my favorite dps to play, therefore, I knew what was going to happen to him. Yes, it helps build his character, but he didn't need to suffer alone.

"You're from California, right? Same as Reyes. Maybe after all this is done, I'll go visit to see how interesting people come from there." He says as he sits back in his seat. Finished with the conversation, I go back to polishing my katana.

The stratoscopter lands in an area not too far from where we'll be holding. Not the best idea in hindsight, but that's not on Sojourn as how can they prepare for a Titan. Due to the quick commands of Jack and Chase, our deployment time was reduced significantly as compared to their first time. Within 15 minutes, everyone was in position to defend the heron siege. With a nod from Jack, the engineers began turning on the systems, starting up the heron.

I could feel the energy the heron gave off, along with the response from nearby omnics as they started to search for the source. I draw my pistol and katana as I crouch down on the front lines behind some rubble as I prepare for the initial first response.

The omnics come by slow, as I can't sense any nearby Ravagers responding to our assault, as they proved to be easy pickings for the soldiers. After a couple of minutes, the omnic response picked up, putting more pressure on us. Although they were fewer than the past couple of battles I've been in, their numbers were nothing to scoff at.

To our right, I could feel omnics approaching from our right, attempting to flank us. Avoiding the fire from our own soldiers, I quickly ease my way over to meet them. With suppressing fire from S3bastian who takes out the furthest ones, I easily take out the ones in the front, which takes out the ones on our flank.

Heading back, to the rest of the group, I don't fail to notice the look Chase gives me. She no doubt could see my movements with her upgraded lens provided by Mina and knew they were faster than what a human should be capable of. Torbjorn doesn't read the room and mentions it, "You weren't doing all that dancing and slashing before. What changed?" He asks.

"Me." I respond, which is the truth to however anyone wanted to interpret that. While Torbjorn took it as me not revealing my secrets, Jack and Chase gave a sad look before turning back to the battle as they understood the underlying meaning behind it.

After that, I turned my attention back to the battle, looking for the Titan that I couldn't sense yet. Even with the increased waves of omnics, it still felt as though we had the situation under control.

Hope began to rise among the soldiers as the deadline for the heron siege to fully activate begin to near. As if they didn't learn their lesson, Murphy's Law took effect. The heron begins sputtering and clanking, as it powers down. The engineers cry out in frustration, as they try to troubleshoot the issues. Down the street, all of us could feel a slight rumbling that grew stronger with each stride. Chase looks up from the end of her rail gun.

"That feels like a big deal." She says out loud. The Titan comes into view from around the corner, as its hulking body barely fits in-between the street.

"Big deal is right." Jack mutters as everyone focuses their fire on the new threat. I had forbidden S3bastian from using his plasma weapon, as I feared since our mission to the UK that it was malfunctioning. Seeing that their weapons weren't even harming the Titan, Torbjorn ordered whatever turrets he brought to focus on the machine.

The guns on the Titan, pick off Torbjorn's turrets as Jack attempts to take advantage of its distraction by firing a Helix rocket at it. They explode on the Titan's shoulder turret, which points at the building we currently were at.

"TAKE COVER!" Chase shouts out as everyone falls to the ground. A boom shouts down the street followed by a whistling until an explosion rocks the building we're in. As bodies fly past me, I watch as rubble crashes down on the heron siege, making powering it down completely. Without a second thought, we all hear Chase give the command to retreat.

Everyone takes off towards the stratoscopter, but I take my time, laying down covering fire instead as I know what's to come. From down the street, the Titan takes a step forward, then pauses for a second. Two resounding booms echo across the city as two explosions knock everyone who was close to the stratoscopter off their feet.

Seeing their only way of escape be destroyed while so far behind enemy lines, Chase can't help but curse her luck.

"To Davenport House. We'll hold there." She commands and everyone gets up and begins running down the street as bullets whiz past us. To make sure everyone makes it through the street, I assist by taking down Bastions and deflecting bullets that would hit a soldier.

As everyone books it to the designated place, I take one last look at the Titan. For a moment, I resist the urge to try to take the thing on myself, as I was a bit greedy to try to unlock a new power. Shaking my head, and clearing my head of the greed, I fall back to Davenport myself.
