Attack for the Reactors Part 2

"Wait, you know where the second reactor is?" I ask.

"Yeah, Gunther showed it to me." He responds.

I didn't expect to encounter Ravagers here. In fact, they weren't supposed to be around for another seven months.

Maybe it's because we were in an omnium, their birthplace, so of course they would show up to defend it.

With the Ravagers, our actions were being recorded and processed, then countered.

One wrong move and we would easily get outplayed and wiped.

With us barricaded against the first reactor door, having to search for the next reactor would be impossible.

All of this would basically be in vain if we didnt get the second reactor as well or the production of omnics would just slow and not halt.

Now we just had to deal with the first reactor then get out the room to the second one.

"What are you waiting for? Put in the code." Gabriel practically screams as the Bastion units round the corner and pass the Ravagers.

"Will do." He walks over to the keypad and inputs a code rapidly.

The heavy steel doors, lurch open and the soldiers begin to file into the room while keeping their attention on the omnics.

I go forward and grab my shield thats blocking the door and slowly back up with it raised.

Once the doors to the fusion reactor fully open, a Ravager holds up his fist and the Bastions freeze in place.

I take note of this, as I know tat any stray fire could ignite the reactor, causing a nuclear fallout.

My guess is that this omnium is really valuable to ANubis which is why he doesnt want it destroyed and figures that he could probably fix whatever damage we cause to the reactor.

The guy steps forward to the console that controls the fusion reactor and begins working to turn it off.

Tensions are high, as while he's working, we carefully watch for any movement from the enemy.

I quickly move over to Gabriel, who is calmly watching the guy work.

"S3bastian has the location of the second reactor. After we're done here, we need to hurry to get the other one before extracting."

S3bastian hears this and comes over to us. "I knew that I couldn't deal with the fusion reactor alone, so I placed a tracker on it in case they decided to move it. No need for thanks, sometimes my intelligence scares me too.

Anyway, they are moving it as we speak."

Gabriel turns to us. "The situation has changed. We know too little about the commanding bots who watch our every move.

We can't afford to go on a wild goose chase trying to get that second reactor. They could easily lure us into a trap then all of this would be for nothing.

After we deal with this reactor, we're going to prepare for extraction." He says.

"But we can't leave them with the other reactor or production will just continue like we didn't do anything here." I protest.

He grabs me by the shoulder and leads me to an isolated part of the room.

"Listen, I'm just going to be straight with you. Your plan has worked so far, we haven't had any causalities, we're actually dealing with the reactor.

You're doing good. There's just one problem that keeps rearing its head over and over.

Your bot. True, he found the second reactor and got the passcode, but he didn't call it in. Left us in the dark for half an hour in enemy territory.

I don't need to say much about us holding the door unnecessarily, do I?

Listen to my next words carefully kid. Get. Him. Under. Control.

There are too many lives at stake to be messing around.

Until he can take anything serious, I won't trust any soldiers around either of you." He explains.

I sigh as I know he's right. S3bastian was too out of pocket and was becoming a problem.

I had a plan to deal with him later, but I still needed to address the second reactor issue.

"I understand that sir, so how about just me and S3bastian go after the second reactor?" I offer.

He narrows his eyes, "What I said still stands. After the reactor, we're preparing for extraction. With or without you."

"You won't have to worry; I'll be there at extraction." I assure him.

"How long till we're done here?" He calls out to the guy working on the reactor.

"It'll take 5 minutes for it to turn off and another 5 minutes for it to reach minimal cooling temperatures for us to tamper with it."

He turns back to me, "You have eleven minutes."

I hold out the two EMP bombs to him, which he takes. "I only need 7." I say back.

I lower my mask and inform S3bastian of the new plan as I head to the door.

"Keep the ping updated every second and warn me of any incoming hostiles before they get to us." I instruct S3bastian.

"Roger roger." A map with a red ping appears on the side of the mask as I look at the waves of Bastions and Ravagers in front of us.

Activating Galvanic Form, I call out to S3bastian, "Don't follow those simple instructions and I won't hesitate to scrap you."

I begin charging the Bastions in front of us, taking precision shots at their head.

They don't fire back as they can't risk shooting the fusion reactor and only attempt to punch me with their robotic hands if I get close.

Easily dodging any punches that come my way, I tear through the ranks of the Bastions, until I can see the Ravagers nearby.

One steps forward, aiming his rifle low as it takes a shot at my leg.

A red laser shoots out and I pull my leg back in time for the shot to leave a black stain on the floor where my leg once was.

The other two step forward as well, and begin to fire at my legs as well, making me retreat.

A Bastion near me swipes at me with its left fist and I dodge, as I level my own assault rifle at it and take a shot at its head.

It crumples to the ground as a Ravager aims his rifle higher and fires at my arm.

I go to dodge the laser, but the shot never makes it as S3bastian steps in front of me and the shot bounces off his armor.

His right-hand transforms into a blade that radiates heat waves as it grows hotter.

The Ravagers aim their rifles at his chest and open fire, but the laser bullets just deflect off of him as he starts to move forward.

Reaching the first Ravager, he slices the rifle he's holding downwards, before bringing his blade back up through the Ravagers torso and chest, leaving a red line where he slashes.

The light fades from the Ravagers eyes as it falls to pieces, and he continues on to the next Ravager.

Knowing their guns don't affect S3bastian, they do the only thing they can do and ball up their hands into fists.

One punches out for S3bastians face, which he sidesteps to the left while he brings his blade up and stabs the Ravager through the face.

Picking the body of the Ravager off his blade, he turns only to have a punch bounce off his chest.

He returns the attack by slashing across the Ravagers chest, and the omnic falls into two.

As the last Ravager falls, I take a final shot at the last remaining Bastion in the hallway, which clears the way for both us and the soldiers in the reactor room.

I see the ping get further away so I start sprinting at high speeds down the halls after it.

While running I hear over the radio, "I love it when you talk to me while you're like that. You're so.... dominant." S3bastian says.
