Betty laid face up on the bed after the door closed behind her friend. She spread her arms wide and thought of things again.

She was sleeping. Was forced to wake up, and the next thing she knew, she was to pretend asleep again.

Whatever the case, at least she knew where her friend was going to be and if anything happened, who she had to blame and who she had to go to.

However, the man named Cedric did say that Jonah Lake wanted both of them there. Could it be possible that the old man and that Vincent guy that Hella hated were in cahoots?

Betty thought a bit more.

The sound of the hobgoblins' footsteps, the slow breeze of the table fan, and flutter of the curtains under the afternoon sun.

It was all too cozy for her to bother with things like thinking.
