Chapter 17 Quidditch match

SIX DAYS LATER

Morning-----

Pansy woke up early in the morning when someone shook her. She saw her roommates are staring at her. Daphne greengrass, Millicent Bulstrode and Tracy Davis are looking at her with some suspicion.

" Why all of you are staring at me, early in the morning?" Pansy asked them. She can see the questioning gaze of her roommate.

"You don't know what you did, Pansy," Tracy asked Pansy. She doesn't know what they are talking about.

"You were kissing your pillow whole night. We don't know what happened to you. But you looked like a maiden in love. Who else kisses their pillow for the whole night. You are repeating it for three days. But today it got worse," Daphne said to pansy. She is angry for some reason.

"You not only smooch your pillow but today you started to make some weird noise. At first we tried to sleep like that but we can't. Please inform us if you are going to do that," Millicent said to pansy. She is not an early riser.

" I didn't know that. I am sorry for the disturbance," Pansy said to them. She couldn't believe Harry's kisses did an irreparable damage to her. She couldn't meet the eyes of her roommates.

"Who is the person responsible for disturbing our sleep? Who made you fall for him. Have you kissed him yet?" Tracey asked Pansy. When she saw the flushed face of Pansy. She has a suspicion that pansy had already done the deed.

"No, we haven't kissed yet. He doesn't know about me. I admire him a lot from a distance," Pansy lied to them. She couldn't say that it is Harry who kissed her. Sometime she wanted to do more than just kissing him. But Harry will disappear before she can initiate anything.

"Secrets!!! It is something like one sided love or friends with benefits," Daphne asked her in icy tone. No emotions in her voice.

"I expected too much from you Pansy. I am disappointed that it is only one sided love," Tracey said to pansy in a depressing tone. She really expected too much from her.

"Even I thought you found a boyfriend. But you are too brutal for any boy," Millicent said to Pansy. She couldn't believe that her roommate would get a boyfriend with her brutal attitude.

"You take that back. I am not that brutal," Pansy said to Millicent. She doesn't like her comment.

"Millicent don't be rude to her. Maiden love can change her heart," Tracey said to Millicent. She wants to know more about the guy but before she can ask. Someone else asked Pansy about it.

" So who is the lucky guy? Or do you want to keep your crush a secret?" Daphne asked her. Still no emotions in her face.

" Even if I tell about him. All of you wouldn't believe. So let me keep it my personal secret," Daphne shamelessly said to them. She couldn't tell them that she fancy Harry Potter.

"Do you fancy Draco Malfoy? He is cute but whenever he is in difficult situation, he only recalls his daddy," Millicent asked Pansy. She is curious about her friend's recent crush.

"No...No...No. He is not my crush. I am not even close to him. Due to recent decline in his father's reputation it is unlikely that I would become even a friend with him," Pansy said to them. She doesn't want a freeloader as her friend. Especially a daddy's boy.

"Is he a upperclass boy? Recently Harry Potter fancied a upper class girl from ravenclaw. Cho Chang is fancied by many guys but she chose to date Harry. You can go ahead and give a hint to your crush that you like her. He will ask you on a date if he likes you," Daphne said to Pansy. After hearing her advice and the mention of Harry in the same sentence. She looks conflicted.

"Is he a Hufflepuff boy? Maybe Cedric Diggory. He is handsome and talented," Tracey asked her. She hoped that pansy would give some reaction but found none.

"No, not even close. He might be popular but I don't fancy him. I just remembered that today, Gryffindor is facing Hupplepuff in a Quidditch match. Are you going to watch it?" Pansy asked them. The mention of Hupplepuff clicked in her mind and she remembered the match of Harry.

"We are going to watch the match. If Gryffindor lose the match then Slytherin has a chance to win the quidditch cup of this year. Otherwise we have to wait for next year. If Hupplepuff won then we can beat them in the last match," Millicent said to her friends. She loves to play Quidditch but didn't get a place in her house team.

"I have a bad feeling about this match. Recently the game of Gryffindor have improved by some unknown means. There is a rumor that they are getting extra practice. But as far as I know they are only practicing on the scheduled time," Daphne said to her roommates. She doesn't believe rumors but still a bad feeling that Gryffindor will win the Quidditch cup this year.

All the others looked at Daphne as she is joking. Pansy got up from her bed.

"I am going to take bath. And don't ask me about my crush. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth," Pansy said and went to take the bath. She didn't look back to see the reaction of her friends.

"She is lying about not kissing a boy. Maybe her crush is a Hupplepuff boy who is going to play today," Tracey said to Daphne and Millicent. She forgot about Gryffindor. Mostly because Slytherin and Gryffindor doesn't get along.

"It is more than that. Maybe her crush is dating another girl. Kissing him is the only thing in her head. You can't deny that she is brutal to boys and girls," Daphne said to Tracey and Millicent. She finds the situation quite funny. Pansy is behind a guy.

They continued to talk till Pansy came back.

----Quidditch ground----

Afternoon----

Ginny, Hermione and Ron are walking towards the quidditch ground's stand with other Gryffindor students.

" This year we are going to win the quidditch cup with ease," Ron said to Hermione. He knows quite a lot about Gryffindor team.

"You have said the same thing for tenth time, Ron," Hermione said to Ron. She is here to cheer Harry and Gryffindor team.

"He is always like that Hermione. He always predicts about his favorite team. Don't bother to correct him. I am sure he is going to repeat the same phrase during the whole match," Ginny said to Hermione. She knows that when her brother Ron starts to speak about Quidditch. He never shuts up till the match is finished.

"Where is your friend Luna lovegood? You told me that she is coming with us," Ron asked his sister. Before she can answer his question. A girl walked towards them in a lion's costume. Only her face is visible.

" Hey Luna, you arrived just in time," Ginny said to her friend. She doesn't find anything weird about her after spending most of her childhood with her as a friend.

" That is one way to cheer the team," Hermione said to Luna. She was shocked to see Luna. She doesn't know anything about the younger girl and surprised to see her.

"Hello, I want to cheer for Gryffindor team. So I chose this outfit," Luna said in a cheerful tone. She doesn't mind the way others look at her.

"Let's go we want the front seat for this match," Ron said to them. He doesn't want to sit on the back seat during the event.

All of them went to grab a front row seat. After some time Hupplepuff team came and Cedric Diggory is with them. After few seconds Oliver wood entered with his team.

The Slytherin students are shocked after they saw the 'Nimbus 2001' in the hands of whole Gryffindor team.

"I told you I had a bad feeling," Daphne said to pansy. In the last match Slytherin has the advantage over Gryffindor because of the Nimbus 2001. But even then Gryffindor won the match when Harry caught the golden snitch.

"Now we doesn't have a chance if they also have Nimbus newest model," Millicent said to Daphne. She believed that Slytherin have the advantage of speed if Gryffindor lose this match. She was wrong in that aspect.

Tracey and pansy didn't comment anything about it.

Marcus Flint is angry that now they are in the losing end. Draco didn't comment because he lost his position recently in Slytherin due to his father's recent reputation.

Lee jordan started his commentary.

" Girls and boys, Here we are for an exciting match between Hupplepuff and Gryffindor. Ohh what a surprise!!! Gryffindor team also have Nimbus 2001 as their brooms. This is an advantage in this match," Lee Jordan commented on the match. Prof. McGongall is sitting beside him also surprised to see the new brooms.

The players started to fly around the ground. Fred and George flew for an extra minute around the ground.

Madam Hooch is the referee of the match. And the match started with a reminder of rules and regulations. And everyone should follow it.

As soon as the golden snitch is released Harry went in the keeper zone. He flew high in the air and started to watch the match. He already knew where is the snitch. But he will not act before other seeker can see the snitch.

Fred and George used the Nimbus 2001 to the fullest and started to redirecting the bludger towards the Hupplepuff players.

"Gryffindor's beaters are taking the maximum advantage of nimbus 2001. They are not giving any chance to the Hupplepuff team to gain any kind of momentum," Lee Jordan said to the audience.

The play continued between Hupplepuff and Gryffindor team. Angelina went to fierce mode and started to score one after another. Katie and Alicia are passing her quaffle for most of the time. Cedric is waiting for snitch to show up early.

After 30 minutes the score is 200-30. Gryffindor is ahead of Hupplepuff by 170 points.

'Is there a need for me to catch the golden snitch. Let's finish the game. We have enough lead. Why Angelina is playing like a raging bull. That big girl is crazy in quidditch pitch even without her today's performance,' Harry thought in his mind. And his broom flew above towards the golden snitch.

Cedric saw him moving and went after him. Both of them are flying at their high speed. Harry saw the golden snitch diving towards the ground.

'Crazy snitch you just have to dive toward the ground,' Harry thought in his mind. And he dived downwards. Cedric is just behind him due to his early dive.

Harry is still ahead of Cedric. Golden snitch is moving rapidly in zig zag pattern. Harry extended his right arm and waited for golden snitch to appear near him. As soon as it became a little close to him. He caught it easily.

" Harry Potter got the snitch easily. The game concludes with a score of 350-30. This is the biggest lead in the history of Hogwarts by any team. Gryffindor won the match by the lead of 320 points," Lee Jordan said to audience. Without a doubt Gryffindors are going to win the quidditch cup of Hogwarts this year.

In the stands, Ron is cheering loudly with Hermione and Ginny.

" I told you we are going to win this year's quidditch cup. We have so much points because of this match. It is impossible for other teams to match us in points after this game," Ron said to Ginny and Hermione. Her sister's eye are fixed on Angelina. She doesn't want to take Harry's place but want to support him in the future games.

"One day I will play as a chaser for Gryffindor," Ginny said to Hermione. She is impressed by the playing style of Angelina.

"You can do it Ginny," Hermione supported Ginny. She saw the spark on Ginny's eyes.

" Today there will be a huge celebration in our common room," Ron said in an exciting voice.

After the match the teams and audience started to leave the ground. Hupplepuff are little sad while leaving the ground. Cedric came and congratulated Fred and George for their victory. After that he went with his team.

"Angelina, what did you eat today? Next time please share it with us," Fred said to Angelina. She looked back at him.

"I was a little angry on someone's comment. Before the match I accidentally met Marcus Flint. He said 'Gryffindor girls are weak'. And we have three chasers who can't score properly," Angelina said to Fred. He doesn't want to know the reaction of Marcus after the match.

"I can imagine his face now. He must be bashing his face somewhere for his stupidity," George said to Angelina. He started to laugh with his brother after saying that.

"Nice work Angelina. You almost blew Hufflepuff from the start," Oliver said to Angelina. He is happy after winning the game.

"We should remind her of Marcus, when we face Slytherin. What do you say captain?" Harry said to Oliver. He nodded his head.

"Remind me that next year," Oliver said to Harry. The younger boy nodded his head and they walked towards their common room for the celebration.
