Daily Life on Ainzland

As he stepped out of his small, secluded house near the lake, his eyes were greeted by clear skies and expansive green lands that seemed to stretch endlessly.

Stretching his arms and letting out an exhausted yawn, he returned to his house to retrieve his prized possession - a dead wyvern.

This was challenging opponent to subdue, as its entire body was a weapon. Just having dragon blood in one's veins was already an unfair advantage but that did not stop him.

As a warrior in the dojo of the Supreme Being of Warriors and Honor, Warrior Takemikazuchi, he was able to overpower the false dragon in quick succession. Though he was injured and severely exhausted afterwards, he was happy because of the fortune he will rake in.

With the wyvern securely tied to a long stick and slung over his shoulder, he set off on foot towards Adventure City, located a few miles north of his house.

During his journey to the city, he encountered numerous individuals who, like him, were carrying their bounties back to town, resembling a steady stream of ants diligently bringing food to their queen.

In the midst of this bustling crowd, he noticed that the majority of individuals were Demi-Humans, including Cat-men, Dog-men, Horse-men, and various other beings.

In addition to the Demi-Humans, he also witnessed the majestic sight of Dragons, Griffins, and Demons gracefully landing outside the city before making their way inside.

In this world, landing in any city was nearly impossible, even for those within the central government. Any attempts to do so would be met with powerful weapons specifically designed to neutralize even God-like beings.

As he walked towards the city, there was no physical conflicts against each other. Though it was impossible to completely get rid of verbal conflicts.

The ruler, the Supreme Being of Life and Death, had decreed that no harm should be inflicted upon one another based on race, preventing any conflicts from arising. Those who dared to defy this decree would face the wrath of the Supreme Being.

People who had disagreement that reach life or death could fight each other, as long as an government official was present to be judge.

Stepping into the city, it was hard to fathom that a mere thousand years ago, before the arrival of the Overlord, people relied on horse carriages to travel and candles to illuminate the streets, leading modern inhabitants to perceive their ancestors as primitive cavemen.

Unlike in the past, when people were fearful of living in cities due to the constant threat of attacks, the current era provides a sense of security. The entire town is shielded by powerful barriers capable of repelling even God-level attacks, alleviating any concerns of breach or invasion.

The once uneven and potholed roads have been transformed into a magical treasure, paved with white gold and infused with magic. Walking upon this enchanted ground brings a sense of tranquility and has the power to heal any hidden or visible injuries one may have.

Gone are the days of candle-lit streets. Now, the city is illuminated by the presence of fire and light fairies, who tirelessly ensure a constant source of illumination throughout the city.

It was not long ago that the fairies were enslaved by the Court of Demons across the sea. These are remnants from the age of the Eight Greed Kings.

Being freed by Nazarick, the fairies easily accepted their leadership and became subordinates. Though this was mainly due to the peaceful nature of fairies. If it was any other race, they would have not accepted this after experiencing a life which made them wish for death.

Just like all races before who bent the knee, the fairies notice that the Overlord strictly prohibits slavery, and anyone who dares to disobey this decree faced severe consequences, including execution.

The fairies, like any other race, are treated with respect and their role in maintaining the city's light is considered more of a natural existence rather than work. They reside within the light posts, sleep, and fulfill their duty of illuminating the city without any interference or concern from others.

With a shake of his head, he made his way towards the Hunter Guild, one of the three prominent guilds spanning across the three continents.

The other two guilds, the Adventure Guild and Alchemist Guild, were established by mortals, while the Hunter Guild was uniquely created by the God of Beast and the Hunt, Aura Bella Fiora.

Its primary focus is on tasks related to beasts, making it the go-to guild for such matters issued by the Alchemist Guild and Adventure Guild.

Originally, the God of Beast and the Hunt wanted to teach the art of beast taming to people but no matter how hard they were taught, they could not learn it.

Left with no option, this God deemed hunting beast the best option. However, a special request was implemented by Him[1]. If anyone finds any rare beast, it must be reported to the guild immediately.

As he entered the Hunter Guild, he couldn't help but notice the emptiness in the lobby, which spared him the inconvenience of waiting in line.

Approaching one of the receptionists, he handed over his hunter medal and calmly declared, "This task is completed. The Wyvern that destroyed Bank Town have killed."

The receptionist didn't change her expression as if she heard the most common thing in the world. On a daily basis, she has heard of Dragon Lord dying, gods fighting, so a mere Wyvern was nothing important but anything with dragon blood was a treasure.

The receptionist took his medal and ran it through a peculiar machine known as a 'computer', a magical item from the Overlord's home world. This device had the remarkable ability to store and recall information, making it effortless to access details about accepted requests, applicants, and even the dates and times of task completion.

Looking at the computer screen for a moment, the receptionist glanced at the lizard-type Demi-Human for the first time with envy and replied, "Indeed, Drake Thornheart, the task has been completed. The points have been transferred to your medal."

In this ever-evolving world, every individual is bestowed with a special medal during their youth that remains with them throughout their lives. These medals possess the ability to store personal information, including details about one's family and finances, which can only be accessed through government-sanctioned banks. However, the three guilds have their own banks where instead of money, points are stored.

These points can be utilized to purchase a wide range of items, but their primary purpose is to gain entry into the Noble Tournament.

The tournament, created by the Goddess of Pure White, Albedo, provides an opportunity for individuals with extraordinary abilities to ascend to nobility.

Becoming a noble is something that everyone dreams of. Being a noble gives one territory, power and influences beyond one's wildest dreams. The greatest benefit is entering the gaze of the gods and their subordinates and if one is lucky enough, the gaze of the Supreme Being.

Drake Thornheart understood the reason behind the receptionist's envy - he was a Demi-Human, while she was a Human. If anyone from the past had heard that a Human would be envious of a Demi-Human, they would have found it laughable. However, times had changed, and this was the reality now.

In this world governed by the Overlord, Demi-Human and Heteromorphic Races are highly respected and revered. Centuries ago, a piece of news leaked from the Great Tomb of Nazarick, stating that only non-humans could join Nazarick. This revelation caused a significant shift in the world's dynamics, with monsters taking the place once held by humans, and humans being looked down upon by society.

Humans gradually changed their perception of monsters, leading to the emergence of various unique variations of Demi-Humans. The human population declined, but before they faced extinction, the Overlord declared them High Humans, resulting in a gradual rise in their numbers. However, compared to their previous position as the dominant race, their numbers remained relatively low.

Retrieving his medal from the receptionist, Drake Thornheart made his way towards the school district, where children from all races and backgrounds were granted the opportunity to study for free. He was there to pick up his son, the precious reminder of his late wife that remained in his life.

Drake Thornheart, reflected on the stark contrast between himself and his late wife, a High Human with a lifespan of only 80-100 years. She had lived 40 years before passing away. Drake, on the other hand, possessed a lifespan of 150 years and entertained the possibility of immortality if he were to encounter the Goddess of Vampires and Blood, Shalltear Bloodfallen. However, his true desire was to meet the Overlord, the being that had dominion over life and death, and implore him to resurrect his beloved.

She had pass away from childbirth. Originally, she should have been able to give birth to more than one child however, the children in her stomach fought each other for nutrients and his son was the only one to emerge.

As he waited, it felt like years had passed, but suddenly, Drake Thornheart's attention was caught by the joyful chatter of children. Their voices filled the air as they excitedly discussed the latest inventions that had emerged on one of the continents.

Drake Thornheart's smile widened as he spotted his son among the children. Despite his Demi-Human lineage, his son appeared fully Human, except for the reptilian slits in his eyes that gave him a unique and intriguing look. Although his eyes seemed cold and ruthless, they didn't reflect his son's true personality, as he was a cheerful and lively child.

His son is a rare creature, there is no name for what he truly is but he was not exactly a lizard-man or human. According to the doctors, he had the potential to become a God-Kin or even a god when he comes of age, which should be impossible since there was no god in his or his wife linage.

With a gentle rub on his son's head, Drake Thornheart took his hand and walked across the street to purchase a teleportation scroll.

Obtaining the scroll, he activated the scroll, instantly transporting them both to their front door with a swift and convenient journey.

In the realm of Ainzland, the advancement of magicraft had reached extraordinary heights, making what was once deemed impossible now commonplace.

Teleportation scrolls use to be rare and in the hands of the powerful, but nowadays everyone could obtain them.

Long ago, the notion of gods walking the land would have been met with ridicule, but in reality, it had become an undeniable truth.

Walking down the street it's not uncommon to run into a disguise god. These beings that use to be worship pop up like cabbages, making the gods lose the reverence of mortals.

The only gods truly worshiped in this world are the gods who serve the Supreme One, Ainz Ooal Gown.

As he stood outside his house, watching his son run inside with a grateful smile, Drake Thornheart couldn't help but reflect on the past. Although he hadn't personally experienced those times, he knew that if the Overlord had not descended, this world would never have achieved such a state of peace and tranquility.

[1] The inhabitants of Ainzland think Aura is male, thus the reason she is call the God of Beast and the Hunt.
