Overlord : Trinidad chapter: 9

**Death.**

The predestined end of which Enri Emmot knew little or nothing.

Perhaps the closest she had come to death was that time when she was 5 years old. She had heard that a neighbor had died of old age, but due to her young age, Enri did not grasp the meaning and depth of those words.

Therefore, anyone who saw her now could only admire the strength of this girl.

She had seen her mother die screaming in front of her and her father being slaughtered while buying time for Enri and her sister to escape. A normal person would have crumbled into tears or frozen in fear.

But Enri took her sister and dragged her out of the village.

She was strong, and she had acted in a way that no other peasant of her age could imitate.

Enri was not one of those glorious adventurers who fought, nor was she a powerful sorceress like her friend or a talented warrior like the woman who was said to protect the Blood Emperor.

Enri's strength lay solely in her heart, and for that reason, she cursed her own weakness.

Her legs burned, she was short of breath, and she had no way to deal with the two sword-wielding soldiers chasing her. In the end, her weak legs had only managed to get her to the entrance of the forest.

Enri stumbled clumsily and was caught by the soldiers who maliciously laughed at her misfortune.

Enri had no way to deal with those two soldiers, and her sister was dead tired.

Enri looked at her with pity. "She can't run anymore," she thought, so she took her sister, hugged her, and covered her with her body. She knew this was nothing more than a feeble attempt to bring love to her sister in her final moments of life.

And with no other options, she… resigned herself to dying.

She felt a cut on her back, Enri could feel the blood flowing from the wound. "It's over," she thought.

But…

"HAAAAAAAAAAA! What is that?!" one of the soldiers shouted as a mass of dense darkness formed in the air.

Enri looked up and saw that from this black mass emerged… demons.

From the infinite darkness materialized death clad in a jet-black robe, with two piercing red lights flickering where human eyes should be.

Followed by a demon, a beast covered in fur, wearing clothes that would only be appropriate for an emperor or a wealthy aristocrat.

And lastly… a warrior in white armor.

Enri could only be terrified by the sight of these three beings emerging from the mass of darkness, and although the warrior seemed to come from a legend Enri had heard of, seeing that he had been born from the same darkness as the other two monsters, his heroic appearance only disgusted her. "A wolf in sheep's clothing," she thought as she looked at TouchMe.

The three beings looked around, and the moment TouchMe saw the two soldiers about to harm Enri…

"SLASH!" shouted the white-armored warrior.

He had used a very basic level 4 spell, but since it scaled with strength stats (which was TouchMe's highest attribute), the spell had the power of a level 8.

The soldiers fell to the ground, headless.

TouchMe glanced briefly at the two girls he had just saved. One was injured, and the younger one looked terrified. He would have liked to stay here to comfort them, but he knew that more people were dying in the village. So they should be grateful to have been saved and be a priority for him and Ainz.

"Please take care of them!" TouchMe shouted to Momonga, and then, at lightning speed, he headed to the village without even thinking that he had become a killer.

"WAIT, TOUCHME!" By the time he shouted, the white-armored warrior was already far away.

Then, from the darkness emerged four more beings.

One looked like a dragon but was the size of a human and walked on two legs.

Another resembled an anthropomorphic frog who, by its appearance, didn't seem very smart.

The other two…

One was a black-armored warrior with a massive axe.

And the other, an amorphous mass carrying two powerful shields (Pandora's Actor in the form of Bukubuku Chagama).

"That idiot!"

Momonga was aware of the danger this world might represent, and although TouchMe had managed to kill two soldiers, it was possible that they were extremely weak and that the people in the village had higher levels. Thus, he was annoyed with his companion who was acting impulsively.

"Albedo, send 60% of our forces with TouchMe. Sebas, follow him and protect him."

The NPCs responded with a wide "Right away."

Sebas rushed with all his might to protect his creator, and Albedo ordered a large number of troops.

Momonga and Ulbert looked at the young girl who was watching them with fear.

Momonga wanted to help her but was more concerned about his friend…

Momonga took out a red potion, and as he tried to approach the girls, they began to tremble in fear…

"Well… Girl, I don't have time for this. I also have something to protect."

Momonga then threw the potion to Enri, and she instinctively took it. After that, Momonga reached into a portal that opened out of nowhere and pulled out a set of armor and a sword, a level 50 female gear that he had bought on a whim when he saw it in a shop at a very low price.

"If you ran from the soldiers, it means you don't want to die. Am I wrong?"

Enri, still trembling, shook her head; she definitely didn't want to die.

"Then don't be stupid! Stop trembling, I just saved you. It's obvious that we want to help you."

"Stupid." Momonga usually didn't speak this way, but the urge to follow TouchMe made him act differently.

"And if you really want to live, then drink that potion, heal your wounds, and protect yourself and your sister with this," he said while pointing to the equipment. "If the worst happens, use this, and reinforcements will come," he said while throwing two war horns at her. "And if after all this help, you still don't have the will to defend yourself, just die…"

Enri felt that the words of this skeleton had brought her to life… to the real world, where her parents could no longer protect her, where she and her sister would end up dying if they didn't have strength.

Enri quickly took the potion, ignoring her sister who said, "Don't drink it, it's blood!"

Then, miraculously, her wound was healed. When Momonga saw that she was alright, he ordered everyone to follow him to catch up with TouchMe.

Enri began to quickly put on the gear given to her by that kind monster, and as she watched him leave, she shouted from the bottom of her heart, "THANK YOU SO MUCH!" while crying, deeply moved.

As they rushed to the village, Ulbert commented, "Very cruel" and "I think it was our appearances that scared them."

Momonga then felt like a tyrant; he had treated two girls so cruelly just because they were afraid of him. They probably had never seen anything like him in their lives, so it was understandable.

While they ran, Momonga and Ulbert used other gear to hide their true faces. They wanted to avoid causing panic among the people they were about to save.
