6 The First Battle

After the announcement of my new name, I ordered the floor guardians except Albedo to continue accomplishing their tasks.

In the quite Throne hall, I was sitting on the exquisite throne, Throne of Kings, while Albedo was on quietly standing beside me. It has been some time since I arrived in this world. Around this time, the Sunlight Scripture should attack the villages near the border of Re-Estize. So, I took out a parchment from my dimensional space [Item Box] and cast the spell.

[Eye of the bystander]

It was the 2nd Tier spell which gives the view of the surrounding up to 100km, caster acting as the centre. In anime, Ainz had used remote viewing mirror to look at the carne village. There are also many available in Nazarick. But after coming to New World myself, I think this spell is much better than the remote viewing mirror. This spell can also see through presence hiding spell of same tier.

After casting the spell, a screen appeared in front of me, showing the view of Nazarick from the sky. Then, controlling it, I checked the surrounding for the soldiers of Slane Theocracy and Re-estize Kingdom. I found the Slane Theocracy's soldiers divided into two groups, one wearing the armour of Baharuth Empire and the other wearing Sunlight Scripture's armour.

[30 minutes later]

The soldiers wearing the armour of Baharuth Empire arrived at the outskirts of Carne Village and started to slaughter the villagers. As said in the anime, I didn't feel any remorse or sympathy towards them and watched calmly.

"Are we going to exterminate those filthy humans, lord Ainz?" asked Albedo.

In the eyes of the denizens of Nazarick, humans are low level weak and disgusting creatures. Although all creatures except the members of Nazarick are unpleasant to them, they especially treat humans as insects, due to their fragile strength.

"No, Albedo. Killing is not the only option you have to choose. Some times, alive people are more useful than the dead ones."

The dead bodies of weak people like the villagers can only be used to create low level undead. So, using them for other purposes are much more beneficial than kill them. Demiurge could utilize them perfectly, but he may also prefer alive ones.

"But lord Ainz. If I may ask, what could these lower-lifeform be capable of, so that we could use them?"

"They can serve the purpose of building our foundation in this world. Human's foolishness of repaying life saving kindness with life-long worship will garner us the benefits."

Ainz's main goal is to rule over the world. He's not the same Ainz as in the anime. This Ainz wants to spread the name of Nazarick with the clear goal of ruling other nation; the creation of The Great Empire of Nazarick. And, in that process, Carne village is the test subject.

He wouldn't reveal his full identity for now, because he wants to test the ruling and later utilize it after he invades the Kingdom as the righteous saviour. For now, his only goal is to leave a impression of a great man.

"Splendid idea, lord Ainz. Your greatness knows no bounds."

Albedo's words made Ainz flustered. At first, he might have wanted to hear praises from others. But, he started to feel the constant praise for achieving nothing a little awkward. He isn't that of a narcissist.

"Ahem.. let's head to that village."

[Gate]

A circular gate exuding out the black and purple coloured aura appeared in front of me. Then, I and Albedo appeared next to the helpless villagers. I could also see Enri Emmot running with her younger sister.

The soldiers stopped chasing after seeing the arrival of a man in black and gold with a silver staff floating on his hand, and a beauty wearing a white dress spreading her black wings. One of the hot-headed men tried to say something,

"Wh... Who are y--" but before he could say something, Albedo took his life using [Poison Arrow].

"Lower-life forms like you should bow down and stay silent in the presence of the Supreme Being."

The attacked guard had already died and his body which was slowly turning into a zombie. His eyes fell to the ground, while muscles began to decay. It was a cruel spell which completely sucks away the vitality of low-level beings, and in the New World, vitality is the energy that preserves bacteria, blood and nutrients

"Albedo, stand down... I would like to see some ability of assassin summons. "

Assassin summons are the summons with high physical prowess than MP. They're mainly used to assassinate someone silently. It could be of some use, if they are ever needed in the future. It's not like we would need them frequently, but familiarizing with their abilities might be fruitful for future.

"As you wish my lord."

"Now let's clean up these pests. [Summon 10th: Hell Scythe]"

Five demons with a human body but organs of other creatures possessing gigantic scythes coated in poison, which shone with a steely glint appeared in front of me. These demons levels weren't high but had great physical abilities and were capable of flight.

'Being a 10th-Tier summon, they've low levels. But, to compensate for it, a group of five Hell Scythes are summoned with skills comparable to higher level.'

Appreciating the appearance of these fine assassins, I ordered them.

"Hell Scythes, kill all those in armour."

After receiving the order, they all dispersed and started killing the soldiers. In the blink of an eye, many bodies fell in the ground. None of those bodies were in perfect shape; some had their hands cut off, while others had their legs. But one thing was common, all of their heads were detached from their neck.

The main target of Hell Scythes were their head, while the hands and legs were on the way. The sharp scythes coupled with their high speed, how could the armours be problem to cut through.

Butchering the soldiers like cutting papers, they displayed the bloody massacre of the soldiers. The ground was dyed in red blood along with pieces of human organs, like head, legs, waist, intestine, and many more. After a few seconds, I ordered them to stop and said to the remaining frightened soldiers,

"You love to traumatize the weak, right?.. So, let me play a game with you. And the name of this game is: Escape, if you can... I'll give you a minute to run, and mobilize the Hell Scythes again for five seconds. If you are still alive after five seconds, your life will be spared. Now, run for your life."

It was the death sentence for them, but in the face of death, anyone would try their hard to grab the glimmer of hope to survive. All the terrified soldiers started running to save their lives. They were all running and shouting for help, but it was futile. On the other hand, some fell to the ground and were crying out in despair.

A minute passed like a second, but still all of them failed to leave my sight. Even if they ran far from my sight, there was no hope for them. They'll meet their ends today. I swiftly looked towards the Hell Scythes.

"Hell Scythes, show me the power of your [Hell-Speed]. Impress me."

"Grr.. gr.. Swoshh.."

With a buzzing sound, all of the Hell Scythes dispersed in the direction of the running soldiers. Within a second, half of the running soldiers fell to their death without even noticing their killer.

"Help m.. swoshh.."

"Crash! Crash! Swosh! Bang!"

After another second, the crying voices of the soldiers stopped. It only took two seconds for killing all of those running maggots. And in the third second, the five Hell Scythes returned to my side.

"Well done."

Then I shifted my gaze to the kneeling villagers. They were in daze for what happened just now. In a matter of a few minutes all of the soldiers that wanted to kill them were massacred. They should be grateful to their saviour, but they were more afraid than happy.

"Worry not, for I only harm those who go against me or disgust me."

They were still hesitating. That was given, as who will not be terrified before an unknown powerful man who had just massacred the attacking soldiers within a few seconds. If not for my passive skill [Lord's Ambition] to exude the dignity of a King, they might have already thought me an incarnation of the devil. Then, one elderly man put some courage to stand and thank me.

"Tha... Thank you for sa... saving our village."

I nodded my head and turned to look around then saw a girl who was gripping another little girl tightly. I recognized her in an instant, Enri Emmot. In the amine, Ainz had given her two [Horn of the Goblin General]. Later, she surprised Ainz by summoning a large army of goblins. She should posses some ability that can cause such summoning.

'Should I also give her those summoning items? Yeah! Let's do that. It can also help in advancing this village. As the first village to know the greatness of Ainz Ooal Gown, it shouldn't be this shabby.'

Directly providing the undead manpower may develop the village, but it wouldn't change the living style of these villagers. The gradual change by their own effort will produce the best result. After speaking, I ignored her completely. Who cares about you little girl? I don't want to accept rejections, just accept it and keep quiet.

She may not use these horns as in anime, because I'm more suspicious and cruel here. But, I don't care about that. If she summons the goblins, the village may prosper. If not, then also there was no loss. Ah.. I forgot the compensation thing. I also want to know what the village chief said. In anime, Ainz only described through monologue. So, I don't know the exact details.

"I.. I'm the village chief. What can I help you with?" Stuttering his words, an old man asked. He was the same elderly person thanking me. So he was village chief. I had forgotten his face.

"It might take time. Let's talk somewhere else."

He replied with a silent nod, then we entered his home. I asked him a few questions regarding the surrounding areas as I had already known about the Kingdoms and in the first place. It was the same as Ainz said in the monologue, he didn't know anything except for the basics.

We talked for a bit and he went to the funeral of the deceased villagers. Then after a few minutes, a muscular man of around thirty years old with a dark face, noticeable wrinkles, short, trimmed, black hair, and black eyes appeared riding a horse along with few soldiers arrived. He must be Gazef Stronoff. He asked about the attackers, and the village chief answered him.

Soon, he uttered the same boring shit of gratefulness. I also said something humble and polite. He seemed to show more respect to me from the start. It might be due to [Lord's Ambition]. Well, let's enjoy the treatment when I can. It will take few days for my evil aura to properly take over its control. How can a body with [Extremely Evil Karma] let this skill to emit traces of [True Holy Light] without my consent.

After some time, a soldier ran toward Gazef and said that they are surrounded. Gazef asked me for assistance but I brushed it off as if it doesn't concern me and gave him the same gacha item. The reason, I didn't go with Gazef was, I had some plans that need to be fulfilled without the involvement of the Kingdom.

And soon the time came for my entry. Gazef was seriously injured through his fight, and excessive use of martial arts also affected his body.

I replaced Gazef along with Albedo and watched the scenery in front of me. There were [Archangel Flames], a low-level Angel summons armed with magical flame swords, and soldiers of Sunlight Scripture. It was a group of an average size, in comparision to YGGDRASIL raid team. Then, the leader of the Scripture, Nigun asked in a confused tone.

"Who are you? And where is Gazef Stronoff?"

After a slight pause, he ordered,

"Archangel Flames, Attack them."

Why did he attack all of a sudden, without waiting for my reply. It was different from anime version.

Think.. Think..

Oh! I get it. This bloody passive skill, showing such a mighty strength. You're making Nigun terrified. [Ring of Anti-Detection], which can prevent the detection magical aura and user status also failed to suppress it. Anyway, the battle was inevitable. So, poor Nigun, feel the despair from the beginning.

On Nigun's order, all the Archangel Flames readied their magical swords and started to attack. But before they could even touch me, Albedo said angrily.

"Presumptuous!"

[Devil's Wings]

The black feathers started to flow from Albedo's black wings and attack the incoming Archangel Flames in all directions at a high speed. The Archangel flames which were pure white started to disappear on the single touch of the feather, leaving behind the black mist. Looking at the scene, all the soldiers were trembling with fear and started to fire random spells at me, but they also couldn't avoid their fate. Their bodies began to seep out the black ambience and their equipment were turned pure black.

"Sorry Lord Ainz, but I couldn't allow these lower-life forms' attack to touch you." She said with a slight bow, completely changed from when she was attacking those soldiers and Archangel flames.

"You don't have to apolozige, Albedo."

Then, I turned around to look towards Nigun who was scouring through his belongings. He took out a glowing sealing crystal and held it with his quivering hands and unsealed the magic in it.

[Dominion Authority]

"Haha.. You're really unlucky. If I didn't have this crystal, then you might have succeeded in killing me. Hahaha.."

The surrounding in front of Nigun changed as the area started to illuminate in holy white-blue light. Then an angel with an obscured head whose body is covered with numerous glowing feathered wings and is decorated with royal tablets appeared. It was a middle-rank angel from YGGDRASIL, which was zero threat to us.

"Oh! You think so. Then, let me show you that a bug is a bug, even if it brings a slightly stronger bug."

I raised my hands and a small lightning arrow appeared covered with black miasma of [True Dark]. It flew with lightning speed and destroyed Dominion Authority within seconds, then darkness sparked around the place where it was. And for Nigun, his face clearly showed fear lingering in his heart.

Then, suddenly I felt something entering the range of my domain. The noteworthy time of this battle has finally arrived. I looked up towards the night sky, stars were shining brightly without a trace of any hindrance to the vision. But I can feel the tiniest magic from the sky.

"People of Slane Theocracy, next time you try this little trick, your Kingdom will be decreed as my foe."

A surge of evil aura covered my body and I casted [Veil of Darkness]. It was a barrier spell which explodes the dark energy around the invading area. The dark aura erupted and oppressed the reconnaissance magic casted by Slane Theocracy into nullity.

Now, let's transport the already fainted Nigun to Nazarick for some fun. Demourge will surely be happy to receive a fresh specimen for his future farm.

"[Bone Vulture], Transport this man to Nazarick."

A vulture with skeletons only was summoned, and carried Nigun to Nazarick. Then, I messaged Yuri Alpha to send Nigun to the place for interrogation.

After that, I went to the village to inform the villagers and Gazef about the situation. Gazef was asking to come to the palace but I refused as this wasn't the time and when I come, I would surely come with a heavy blow. Now that all is settled,

"Let's head home." I said to Albedo who was showing a calm expression but previously I could hear the moaning sound from my back when I unleashed [True Darkness] and [Veil of Darkness]. Although being a succubus, she sure can suppress her emotions perfectly.

Albedo nodded silently and we headed towards Nazarick using [Gate].

"Albedo, I'll take some rest. You can go to Yuri Alpha and confirm the situation of that leader. After that, hand him over to Demiurge." I said to Albedo after reaching the Royal Suite, then went straight to my room. And before I could sit on my bed, I heard a faint sound,

"Ohh Yesss! ah.."

It looks like, she finally got to release passionate sounds. Then, I closed my eyes laying on the bed to relax for a while.
