Chapter 1: Life and death.

I died.

They say that life will pass before your eyes, but after going through it myself, I guess.. they don't.

Though it wasn't a pleasant feeling, either. The only noises you will hear while bleeding outside are sirens and human screams.

I didn't know why or when this happened. I was just standing there when I noticed a car traveling at 80 kilometers per hour. If I had known this would happen, I would have at least deleted my browsing history.

"Ah-fuck, Where am I and.. I'm alive?"

I looked around, standing up in disbelief when a light engulfed me and the world disappeared.

I closed my eyes as the light blinded me, and then all of a sudden, I found myself floating in a brilliant white place with no sound, no smell, nothing to see but the blinding whiteness all around the room.

The first thing I saw was a quite enormous table with an even larger individual seated at it.

He had long white hair that appeared to gleam beautifully and a beard that reached his chest.

The white room boomed with a deep voice stating "My apologies" I had no idea who it was; I assumed it was one of the gods I had read about in light novels and fanfiction.

"You were accidentally killed by me."

"Uhh- what?' I look at him with disbelief.

"They claim that God is perfect, but I guess I've made a mistake just now." he said with a chuckle.

I was infuriated; was I killed due to his mistake? What kind of god is that? He ask himself.

I have a dog waiting for me. Who will feed my dog and take care of him after I passed away?

My anger was replaced by sadness when I remembered my dog, Lazzy.

I adopted Lazzy after seeing it to be so underweight and consuming junk. I adopted the little puppy because I felt sorry for him.

When my parents' souls left this planet, he was the only family that I have left.

"I'm sorry young man, but I admit that this mistake was my fault." The god apologizes after seeing the facial expression man is making.

I haven't introduced myself. My name is Amaris, and I am a typical man with a typical appearance. Lazzy, my dog, and I reside in a rural area.

When I was 7 years old, my parents were killed in a car accident. My mother shielded me as a piece of glass pierced her back. My father died being impaled by a sharp metal directly to his heart.

I was left an orphan with no family, working my way up to earn money.

After I received my college degree, I was content with my life. But thereafter, I died as a result of a god's mistake. Though it was infuriating, but I guess what done is done.

The god then nodded and he understood that Amaris loves his dog greatly "As an atonement for my error. I will grant your dog a long wealthy life" "And I'll fulfill your requests. Usually, you will inevitably descend into the River of Reincarnation and reincarnate, but I made a mistake that accidentally killed someone which is you. I'll show you my atonement by allowing you to live another life of your choosing with all of your memories still present."

I sighed in relief to hear this because it meant I wouldn't have to worry about leaving Lazzy alone.

In the shadow of its terrible side, I suppose death is a blessing itself. With this I will be able to achieve my dream of actually living in the Overlord universe.

"Wait, is the anime world even possibly a reality? ' He questioned himself.

I turned to face the god, the being nodded. Knowing this made me eager, and this excitement permeated every cell in my body.

I wandered on many things I could do once I am in the world of Overlord. But that topic is for another day.

"Now, let's get this over with," the god said, picking up a book and a quill that appeared unremarkable but for its thickness and number of pages.

After he read the contents inside, wrote something in it a violet colored transparent window appeared in my eyesight.

[World]

[Wishes]

[Ok.]

Two buttons have the indication that you can choose your own world and wishes, choosing the world Overlord a year before the release of the VRMMORPG Yggdrasil. Amaris clicks the check button and presses okay.

After that decision, the "world" has been completely dimmed and just the wishes are left. Numerous options showed once I clicked it.

[0/3 Wishes]

[Master All- You can masterfully a skill or talent with just a glance.]

[Harem Protagonist - You can make any girl fall in love with you easily with just a few words.]

[Infinite Wealth - You are born in a wealthy family. You don't run out of money.]

[Wisdom of an Immortal - You are good at strategies, and can understand anything easily.]

"Harem protagonist..? What?" Amaris looked at the screen bewildered "Is this option some sort of a joke?"

Before Amaris could finish, many hours had passed. He had considered all of his options and had decided on the three wishes that would be most helpful to the world he had chosen.

Though the choices are pretty obvious he chose to have [Master All], [Infinite Money] and [Wisdom of an Immortal] which will be highly beneficial in obtaining numerous titles, items, and information in Yggdrasil.

Knowing that Amaris had made his choices, the God spoke, "I will not keep you any longer."

He put his book away and got up from his desk. The god then pointed to Amaris, and a tiny bright light appeared on Amaris chest.

As soon as the light came in contact with my skin, it suddenly engulfed me. The sensation of being enveloped by light was so powerful that I could not even move. It felt like I had been submerged into a hot bath and was now being boiled alive.

I immediately lost consciousness but when I finally regained my senses, I found myself lying on a bed.
