Chapter 21: The Tournament

Waking up I did my usual morning routine with one difference once I was done eating my breakfast I went upstairs and waited in my room for about 20 minutes

After the 20-minute wait suddenly a loud noise went *BEEP, BEEP, BEEP*

Hearing this noise I looked at the alarm clock that was in front of me and told it " AH HA, I beat you today who's the loser now, I certainly know it's not me, who was up before you woke me up"

Raising my head higher with a proud look on my face I continued to taunt the stupid alarm that had claimed victory in waking me up constantly for the past two years.

After getting enough of hearing it beep at me and having enough taunting it I finally turned it off and put it to the side where I would find it again.

Walking away from it I thought "Yes, for the first time I finally beat that stupid alarm, though now that I think about it the score is out of 2 and a half years or 812 days I have officially won once. But If I continue to wake up before it I can overtake its winning streak before the new world."

Happy over the Victory I went to the neural nano-Interface logged in and went into YGGDRASIL.

It was 6:30 am when I logged in, and the world tournament would start later in the day around 4:40 pm.

Since I had so much time to waste I decided to just wander around since I already got my armor and two weapons that I commissioned.

While they were useful for now, later on, they would be useless once I got better items so they didn't have that many useful abilities infused with them.

Walking around the Niflheim starting forest I was roaming around randomly getting lost in my thoughts thinking about the future once again.

I was thinking about when I would join the nine own goal clan and what I would do about it.

The main reason being is that I don't want to be the clan leader or when they form a guild I wouldn't wanna be the guild leader either.

Another thing that went into my mind is that when the guild was finally built and we changed the dungeon into the guild home base I thought about what kind of npc's I would want to make.

I did want to make a few NPC, but I didn't wanna make too many since I wanted to make them strong enough, and to make them strong enough I would have to get a ton of memory cards.

Getting lost in my thoughts time started to fly by with me just wandering around the starter forest

(10 Hours Later)

"Yay, it's almost here. I was getting bored waiting and doing nothing else besides getting lost in my thoughts now and then." I said while lying on a random tree I found nice.

While lying down I checked the time and noticed that there were only 10 minutes until the first match before the tournament started.

Deciding that I wanted to get up and walk to the nearby pond I jumped off the tree and started to stroll through the forest once again.

"If only I wouldn't get so lost in time, I would have gone hunting things instead of just laying down and doing nothing, but it was a nice break if I do say so myself." I thought to myself as I was dodging a wolf attacking me

Instead of just getting over with it and killing the wolf I thought that I should just let it waste its stamina and let it back down by itself.

The main reason I didn't just kill it was because I thought that there would be no point in it other than getting a memory card, and I already have tons of these wolf's memory cards.

By the time I reached the pond a total of 8 minutes had passed and the wolf was still trying to attack me and still didn't give up.

Finding a nearby log I sat down on it and when the wolf came in and tried to attack me again I snatched it out of the air, brought it in front of me, and started to pet it.

Even when petting the wolf it continued to attack me and while its attacks did manage to connect with me it wasn't able to do damage to me.

One minute away from the start of the tournament I continued to pat it on the head and said "I give you the temporary name of snow, and if you can stay alive for a while I will help you evolve."

Giving the wolf the name I gave it one nice pat on the head and stood up, after standing up I picked up the wolf with my blood manipulation and covered it with my blood.

Once it was covered in my blood I tossed it deep into the forest and I wished it good luck.

 Everyone who wants to play in the world tournament will be eligible to play, and this event will only be held once.

When getting that notification the screen of the world to pick on and be able to compete in appeared in a side scene in front of me.

Seeing this screen I almost immediately clicked on the Niflheim option and right after I clicked on it I was transported into a random coliseum.

In this coliseum, it was empty, and if you looked outside of the coliseum through one of the windows you saw that there was an uncontrollable blizzard that looked like it would be impossible to go through.

Though if I had to guess for myself it would be possible for me to go through it and not get lost with almost no problem, but I knew that I was an anomaly compared to everyone else.

Taking my gaze away from the outside I looked around and saw other people soon spawn in. When this happened it had me curious.

"I wonder if we will see each other's fights or not, it would be pretty unlucky considering the time it would take for all of it to pass though." I thought to myself while shaking my head.

Waiting for another 15 minutes a screen popped up saying that all the servers were full and that it would start soon, and not so long later rules popped up in front of me.

The tournament will last for a total of 4 hours, each player 1v1 will last a total of 5 minutes.

If there is no winner decided then the one with less hp will be the loser, and in the rare event that each player is on equal hp, there will be a coin flip on who wins.

To make this go by faster multiple matches will go on simultaneously to receive a winner faster.

Players who picked the same realms will not be able to spectate others who are in the same realm as them, but in return, while waiting for their turn they can spectate others from the different realms.

There will be a screen to pop up in front of you once the matches start and you can pick which realm matches you wish to spectate.

Understanding what this message said I closed it and waited, after about a thirty-second wait a notification popped up saying that it had found a match for me.
