In the latest hours of noon, men on horseback arrive to a village. Destroyed, ransacked, ravaged, so many things were done upon this village. All trace of civilization were now destroyed, the village was either turned to dust or made to rubble.
The village was attacked by mysterious, armored men, most likely of the enemy nation that yearly raids this area. Yet, this time, the destruction that was inflicted was like no other. The people who lived in the village were now cut down to only a few remaining survivors, many injured and wounded beyond normal means of medicine. The men carried the injured to safety while two other men stood in the middle of all the destruction.
"Vice-Chief. Take a few of our men and guide the remaining villagers back to E-Rantel."
The larger and more-equipped man told his subbordinate.
"Head Warrior."
"What?"
"The King's orders were to investigate the group that have been attacking the villages and destroying them beyond repair."
"Yes, that's right."
"However, even if the enemy is truly from the Baharuth Empire, only fifty soldiers were given to us for this mission."
"It is a mission of utmost secrecy."
"The nobles are behind this, aren't they? Even among the King's inner circle, many believe that if his most trusted champion would fall, they would have firepower capable of going against him. So shallow."
"That is enough, Vice-Chief."
"You've seen it as well, Head Warrior! This is definitely a trap! Instead of splitting up, we should head back to E-Rantel immediately. Even if we have to sacrifice a few villages, the loss of the kingdom's strongest warrior would bring more deaths than this!"
The head warrior sighed. What his fellow soldier said was true but what was stopping him from listening was his morals and his ideals.
"I am of common birth."
"As I am."
"Then you know as much as I do that living in a village means learning that death is just right next to you. It isn't uncommon to be attacked by monsters, to be pillaged by bandits, or be attacked by the Empire."
"You're right."
"Then when you were still living in a village. Didn't you hope that someone would come? That a big and strong adventurer or a powerful noble would arrive and save your people."
"Saying I never hoped or wished would be a flat-out lie, but no one ever came."
"Then let us be those men who will save these people from the horrors that plague them. Let us show these horrors that there are those who will stop them. Let us show them the shield that which protects the kingdom. And the sword that shall spill their blood!"
"Then I shall be there beside you, Head Warrior."
* Halls of the Ninth Floor *
Szrazyn was walking down the halls of the tenth floor. The operations that he started such as the communication lines and the construction of multiple Megaliths underneath the dummy hills that Mare and the scarab made.
These Megaliths will be fundamental in the creation of a Necron army and adding a greater defensive circle around the tomb, the megaliths would be capable of creating a shield around the tomb with the generators atop of the megaliths.
Szrazyn was preparing for war, he knew that this world would need to be unified and he prepared to do both ways. Diplomacy and War, he was prepared for whole nations to deny his request for vassalization.
Though currently, he will not interfere in the world stage, yet, he is in the process of creating hundreds of wraiths to forge an intelligence network of the numerous nation-states of this new world, as always he lived by the term "Knowledge is Power."
Szrazyn had been walking for a few minutes and now he has arrived to his destination, the personal work room of the Guild's leader. He knocked three times and a homunculi maid opened.
"Lord Szrazyn."
The maid said as she opened the doors for the lord. Looking into the room, Momonga was nowhere to be seen but on the table of the room was the Mirror of Remote Viewing and Sebas close to it.
"Where is Momonga?"
"U-uhm... "
The maid was unsure of what to say until Sebas answered.
"At a human village, Lord Szrazyn."
He said as he bowed.
"And why is he at a human village?"
"Well, Lord Szrazyn. Lord Momonga did not reveal his intentions though I believe he has done it to spread Nazarick's influence."
At that, Szrazyn laughed. The maid and Sebas were quite confused as to why Szrazyn was laughing until he spoke.
"Sebas."
"Yes?"
"I shall teleport myself to Momonga."
"Will you not need any guards, or anyone to go with you, Lord Szrazyn?"
"Hm. Have Aurea be armed immediately. Tell her to use the teleporter I gave her."
"Your orders will be immediately told."
Sebas then started to walk off. Szrazyn then teleported to where Momonga was.
* Forest near Carne Village *
Momonga had just killed two of the knights who were pursuing two female humans. He walked next to the dead body of a knight and used a spell.
"Create Middle Tier Undead. Death Knight!"
Then a black ooze formed in the air above the body and then fell on the body. The body started to twitch and then stood up, once standing, the ooze then went around the body as if an armor, it started to deform and expand.
Where once a dead body stood, was now a giant undead wearing black armor whilst holding a sword and a shield. Momonga looked the undead in the eyes, or sockets, and gave it an order.
"Death Knight! Kill the knights that are attacking this village."
He said as he pointed to the other dead body behind him.
The Knight gave off a horrifying roar before it ran to the village. Momonga looked at the running undead and then realized, this was a defensive undead, not an offensive one. He looked dumbfounded at what he just did. Behind him, Albedo in black armor while holding similarly colored war-axe, came from the 'Gate.'
"The preparations took some time. I apologize."
"No. Your timing is impeccable, Albedo."
"Thank you."
Then Albedo looked at the two females who looked at them.
"And so, what will we do with these lower life forms?"
"For now, the ones wearing armor are our enemies."
"Understood."
Then suddenly, from behind both of them. A green light flickered, until the form of Szrazyn came.
"Szrazyn?!"
"Ah, Momonga, I see you have found yourself with some humans."
"Yes, one of them is injured. I was about to give her a potion of healing."
"Oh, come now, my friend. Why would you use a false version of medicine when you could use the real kind?"
Szrazyn then walked to the humans, he went behind her and saw a large wound with blood spilling out. He was amazed at how the girl was capable of running away from those knights with a big of a wound on her back.
He placed his hand on the wound, the girl winced at what he did, then suddenly, the pain that was on her back faded. All traces of blood were but stains on her shirt. Szrazyn stood up and went to Momonga.
"True medicine is better than magic. Faster too."
"Wha- what did you just do?"
"From my hand came hundreds of thousands of nanites that created tissue that closed the wound. All blood that was lost from the wound were recreated by the nanites."
"I see."
Momonga said but in reality he didn't know anything that Szrazyn said. Szrazyn then looked at the girls, to his expectations, they were bowing to him.
"Thank you very much, Lord Szrazyn! Thank you!"
The older one said then the younger followed suit.
"Yes, thank you!"
"What are your names?"
Szrazyn asked.
"I am Enri Emmot and this is Nemu, my little sister."
"Do you know what magic is?"
Momonga continued.
"Yes. My friend is a pharmacist, he sometimes goes to the village and uses magic."
"I see. Then this is easy to explain. I am a magic caster. I will cast some defensive spells to protect the both of you."
"It is better for now if you both didn't know what I am."
Szrazyn said with the voice he once hid away for several millennia.
"I-I see"
Momonga then raised his hand to the direction of the sister and casted magic.
"Anti-Life Cocoon, Wall of Protection from Arrows."
Then a green bubble formed around the sisters.
"There. As long as you stay inside, no harm will be done upon you. As well, I'll give you these, just in case."
He then threw two similar horns to them.
"If you use them. An army of goblins will appear, they shall follow every command you ask of them. Use it to protect yourselves."
"U-um, thank you once again. Lord Szrazyn and Lord Momonga."
"No. My name is not Momonga. I am Ainz Ooal Gown."
"Then, thank you very much, Lord Ainz Ooal Gown."
"Ye-yes, thank you!"
Szrazyn then spoke to Momonga, or Ainz, telepathically.
"Taking the name of the guild even though I was its mascot. What ever did I do to garner such an insult?"
"What do you mean?! I'm the guild leader!"
"Guild Leader doesn't mean you're the strongest, or smartest. You just got the most votes."
"HEY!"
"What're you gonna do? Deny the truth?"
Ainz then sighed, mentally. As always, he could never beat his friend in an argument.
"Hahahah! You really think I would be that angry at you taking then name? How childish would I be if I got angry over a name?"
Szrazyn said as he mentally laughed. Then as if on cue, a similar green light flickered behind Szrazyn and the form of a woman came. This was the floor guardian of the third floor, or its more famous name, the Floor of Worship. Aurea Denonnia, a female human who is a perpetual or an immortal.
"Lord Szrazyn, Lord Momonga."
Aurea said with a bow.
"It is Ainz Ooal Gown now, Aurea."
"I apologize for my insolence, Lord Ainz."
"You are forgiven, Aurea."
"Now with all things done. Shall we go?"
Szrazyn asked.
"Yes, we shall."
