Overlord: Reborn as an NPC

(A/N: The story was inspired by "Yellowness" on fanfiction.net by MidasMan. While the first 6 chapters are pretty much copy/paste and not something I'm not proud of, it does get better and the plot begins to change once you get past it. With that in mind, I hope you enjoy the fanfic!) ------------------------- To be sent into a fictional world. A dream everyone want's to happen to them. Sadly for Ajax Dalton, a U.S soldier that died during the Russo-Ukrainian war faced a different fate. After getting shot, Ajax was not sent as an all-powerful being or master of a guild of fanatical servants, but warped and twisted into an NPC of Nazarick. Doomed to be sent to the New World when YGGDRASIL shuts down, can this former human maintain his humanity in an inhuman lair? Or, will it even be worth it in the end?

OVA: Christmas Intermission

(A/N: Consider this a little bonus chapter as a Christmas gift from me to you. Sadly, I haven't gotten to write the next chapter over the winter break as I have to read Metamorphosis for English AP. No, not THAT Metamorphosis, you monsters. Anyways, happy holidays!)

[Narrator's POV]

It was a special occasion within the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Well, for most NPCs, it was always a special occasion inside the Great Tomb the Supreme Beings created together. But putting aside their obvious bias for the place, there was another reason for a special occasion to be celebrated.

It was Christmas day!

All the NPCs, ranging from simple maids to the Floor Guardians, were celebrating the joyous event that was filled with the jingling of bells and the giving of presents. This held especially true on the 5th Floor of Nazarick, where Cocytus, the twins, and the reincarnator were all located.

"Why is Mr. Cocytus wearing a white beard? Hahaha!" Kuuderika, the twin in blue, blurted out in a surprised manner, giggling so hard she fell on the soft snow of the 5th Floor. Her twin Ureirika laughed similarly, but instead of falling to the floor, she only jumped up and down.

"Mr. Citrinitas, can I wear the funny hat Mr. Cocytus is wearing? No…. can I wear YOUR FUNNY HAT?!?!" She exclaimed, jumping with even more energy that seemingly came out of nowhere. Citrinitas could only let out a small giggle under his plague doctor mask as Cocytus huffed cold mist.

The Floor Guardian and the Alchemist weren't wearing their regular, day-to-day attire. To celebrate the holiday merriment, everyone had some form of clothing related to Christmas. Some only wore the stereotypical Christmas hat, while others took the dressing up more seriously.

In simple terms, Cocytus was dressed up as Santa, which was surprising considering his grand and towering physique. He somehow found black boots to wear, woolly red pants, and a red and white coat made of the same materials tied by a black belt. But to top it all off, a magical white beard.

On the other hand, the Santa Christmas attire is oddly suited Citrinitas. Though still wearing his plague doctor mask, everything else had a style change. His midnight black coat was replaced with a red one that had a white lining, similar to Cocytus. In addition, the black top hat that he wore was replaced with a fluffy Christmas hat.

"Are you sure you want my hat as your Christmas present, Ureirika?" Citrinitas questioned. "Then, in that case, I guess you can't get some special gifts…" Cocytus simply nodded at Citrinitas' words as the pair's eyes lit up like stars in the sky.

"GIFTS?!?!"

The alchemist hummed as he opened his inventory before reaching his arm into the dark void. "This first gift is for you, Ureirika!" Moments after saying those words, Citrinitas pulled out what appeared to be a model of an aeroplane, about the size of your standard ruler.

"WOAH!!!" Ureirika gasped in awe. "Is that an aeroplane?!" The plague doctor only nodded, which caused the small child to run towards the alchemist and hugged the side of his leg. Citrinitas saw Kuuderika slightly grumble, prompting the plague doctor to gesture to Cocytus.

"This. Present. Is. For. You. Kuuderika." Also opening his inventory, the icy warrior pulled out a beautifully decorated wooden sword. "A. Weapon. Fit. For. A. Future. Warrior." He commented, as he knelt on the puffy snow and gave the twin in blue the small sword.

The pair of them were ecstatic with the gifts they received. But their joy only grew as Citrinitas commented "you'll receive even more gifts from the other habitants of Nazarick." The alchemist would've loved to watch the twins play with their new toys in the snow. Alas, his attention was carried away when one of the acolytes called him via [Message].

{Lord Citrinitas,} It was the voice of Elaina. {An… an important situation needs your attention, sir…} Her voice was filled with nervousness as if something went wrong in the Alchemy Lab. "Cocytus, please take care of the twins for me. An urgent situation has arisen…" The icy warrior huffed cold mist in agreement.

"Alright Kuuderika and Ureirika, I hope you enjoy your gifts. Have a merry Christmas!" The twins replied in kind. "Have a merry Christmas too, Mr. Citrinitas! Thank you for the presents, hahaha!" The plague doctor, after saying his farewells, teleported away to his domain.

"Ah, Lord Citrinitas!" Elaina called out in a soft voice. "There's… uh… something happened in your personal chambers!" The plague doctor narrowed his eyes. 'My personal chambers?' He thought, slightly confused. 'Did an experiment go awry? Impossible, I held no experiments there today…' The plague doctor hummed as he heeded the words of his servant, thanking her.

The sound of footsteps echoed in a rhythmic pattern as Citrinitas headed to the lower floor where his private room was located. He was eventually greeted with a grand double door. It was quite similar to the one in the Alchemy Lab upstairs. Intricate carvings of unique patterns, and expensive materials, along with a magical aura that oozed off of it.

Wasting no time, the alchemist lightly pushed the doors open and was greeted with a… unique sight. Laying sprawled on his luxurious bed fit for a king was none other than Esdeath and Shalltear.

Both in revealing Christmas-themed outfits.

"Oh… Citrinitas…" Esdeath called out in a seductive voice. "Merry Christmas! Care to unwrap your… presents?" Shalltear continued where the ice queen left off.

'How in the world did these two get into my domain? And what the hell do I do now?!'

Next Chapter: A Soldier's POV (2)

----------

(A/N: Next chapter will jump back right into the action of the beastmen war! Whenever that'll release, I have no clue. Most likely when semester 1 ends and I don't have 3 core subjects to focus on. So possibly by February!)
