Chapter19 Wave mission

It's been one and half months since Naruto has become a genin of Konohagakure. During this time he met Konohamaru and became his friend and idol. He is busy doing D-rank missions. He is waiting for the Zabuza arc or the mission on the lands of waves. He wanted to test his kenjutsu against Zabuza. It is dangerous but he wants to improve in battle where his life is online.

Now Naruto is doing a D-rank mission. They are following Tora the demon cat.

Kakashi asked, "Are you on the point?"

Sakura said, "I am on point A."

Sasuke said, "I am on point B."

Naruto said, "I am on point C."

Kakashi asked, "Have you spotted the target?"

Sakura answered, "Yes Kakashi sensei."

Kakashi said, "Does the target have a ribbon in her right ear?"

Sasuke said, "Yes sensei."

Kakashi said, "Capture it."

Naruto catches Tora the demon cat. The bane of Chunin and Genin. For some unknown reason, it runs away every time. It tries to claw Naruto but he looks into its eyes and channels some chakra into his own eyes and it calms down Tora. Nobody from the team saw this incident.

Naruto thought, 'Thank god it worked like Haki to calm down animals or my chakra has a calm nature which is directed from my eyes. I haven't developed my dojutsu but using the chakra from my eyes feels like a different sensation.'

Kakashi said, "Nice job Naruto."

Naruto replied, "I want extra payment for catching it."

Kakashi said, "We will talk about it later."

After catching the Tora they went back to Konoha.

Hokage tower.....

Naruto said with some sympathy, "You know I feel guilty about catching Tora.

Sakura said, "If the lady will hug her like that no matter if it is a dog or cat they will run away."

Sasuke said, "Even I feel pity for Tora's life."

Tora was given to a fat lady who is hugging her to death. It was crying tears from the lady's hug. She paid the money and left.

Now Naruto was in front of the mission desk.

Hokage said, "Would you like to babysit the counselor's daughter? Or would you like to paint the fence of a rich man's house?"

Naruto replied, "I want a bigger mission than that. It is boring to do some D-ranked mission."

Sasuke and Sakura didn't say anything but wanted another type of mission rather than a D-ranked mission.

Iruka objected to it immediately, "Naruto you are a fresh genin, first you have to develop your team relations after getting some experience you can take a C-rank mission."

Naruto said, "I want another mission rather than doing a D-ranked mission."

Hokage replied, "If you insist so much I can give you a C-rank mission."

Iruka said, "But lord Hokage they are not ready for a C-rank mission."

Hokage replied, "Naruto wants to prove that he can take a C-rank mission. Let's give him a chance. Send our guest in."

A drunk old man gets into the mission hall. His hands are on a liquor bottle and he looks at the ninjas.

Tazuna said, "My name is Tazuna and I am a master bridge builder. I asked for ninjas, not some milk-drinking brats."

Kakashi replied on behalf of others, "Don't worry I am a Jonin and they are my students."

Hokage said, "You have to escort him to the land of waves and protect him from animals and bandits till he completes the bridge."

Tazuna replied, "I thought, I would get some adult ninjas. Their jonin sensei is fine but three brats, I don't want to babysit other kids."

Naruto sharply replied, "Drink some milk old man, this dad of yours is a ninja and you need me. Maybe you will build a bridge named after me after I am done with this mission. By the way, I am Naruto Uzumaki, the best in the world.

Tazuna said to Naruto, "Quite big words come out of your mouth kid. Let's see how much you can do during this mission. I hope you still don't piss on your bed." He thought, 'Let's see how you answer that brat.'

Naruto said, "Don't worry about it. If I do that you will be the first one who will drown under it. I had no intention to do that during the mission, maybe after that, I can do it." He thought, 'Want to bully a kid? How do you like that?'

Tazuna thought, 'This kid is taking it too far, as a senior citizen I should stop otherwise he will tarnish my pride in front of everyone.'

Iruka said, "That's enough Naruto."

Kakashi said, "Try not to threaten the client Naruto."

Naruto said, "Just exchanging some greetings."

Hokage replied, "If your greeting is over we shall resume our work."

Kakashi said to his Team 7, "We will meet tomorrow at 8 'o'clock in the morning near the village gates."

All of them went to do their preparation for the trip. Naruto has many other preparations to make. Now he is talking to Pandora's Actor through a mental link message.

Naruto said, "I have a job for you Pandora."

Pandora asked, "What I am supposed to do master?"

Naruto said, "You have to take out every single detail of a person named Gato. He is a shipping industry tycoon. Take some shadow demons with you. After he dies by my hand, you have to do what a good treasurer always does."

Pandora got the hint and said, "Collect all his money."

Naruto said, "Don't leave anything. After I am done with him, you have to collect all his money. You have to clean all of his bank accounts. A dead man has no use for money."

Pandora replied, "It will be done after his death."

Naruto answered, "That's what I want."

After their talk, Naruto becomes busy making explosive tags.

Next morning....

Sakura said, "Where is Kakashi sensei and our client?"

Naruto replied sarcastically, "Both of them are lost in the path of life."

Sakura said, "Naruto, you shouldn't joke like that. If both were late what would happen to our mission."

Sasuke said, "I just want the real challenge."

Kakashi arrives with Tazuna.

Kakashi said," Yo my dear students, you are already here."

Sakura replied, "You are half an hour late."

Kakashi said, "Our client wanted some booze for his journey, so it took some time Sakura."

Naruto jokingly added, "Here I thought he was lost in the path of life with you, but he was lost in the path of liquor."

Tazuna said, "Can we start our journey?"

Kakashi replied, "Sure."

They started their journey, but couldn't see the eyes that were watching them from the trees or that's what the owner of those eyes thought.

After walking non-stop for five hours they came across a puddle of water. Kakashi immediately understood that it was a trap. After they passed the puddle two people came out of the water. They trapped the Kakashi in their joint chain which is connected to their metal gauntlet. They pulled the chains and shredded him into pieces.

Tazuna was horrified after watching the death of kakashi. Naruto immediately rushes in front of Tazuna and takes out his kunai. Both of the mysterious ninjas lunged toward Tazuna. But Sasuke used his shrikuen and kunai to strike on their chains which got stuck to a tree. They broke the chains and started to strike individually but Kakashi appeared and knocked them unconscious.

Sakura said, "I thought you died sensei."

Sasuke replied, "Look at that, he used replacement jutsu. He is just a show-off." He shows her a pile of logs in place of Kakashi's shredded body.

Kakashi said, "What rogue ninjas of kirigakure are doing here? They are famous as demon brothers. Gozu and Meizu are famous chunin ninjas before they defect from their village."

Tazuna asked him, "Why didn't you interfere before then?"

Kakashi said, "I wanted to interfere but I wanted to see, who they were after. Why they were after you?"

Tazuna tells him everything and why he requested ninja in a first but they are from a poor country. He can't afford an A-ranked mission. Kakashi and his team agreed after hearing his story.

Somewhere in a secret hideout.....

Gato enters the hideout and looks at the person who is sitting in the big chair like a king.

Gato said, "Zabuza I gave you a mission and you still have not finished it. Your lackeys failed to assassinate Tazuna."

Zabuza replied, "You never told me that he is bringing a Konoha shinobi. He brought Kakashi of sharingan. He is an elite jonin."

Gato said, "I gave you a mission and you have to complete it. You need money and I am giving you that."

Zabuza replied, "Fine, I have to go to kill him myself, after all, kakashi is no joke. He is listed in a high-ranking bingo book."

Gato said, "As long as you finish your job I will give you the money."

Gato leaves the Zabuza hideout.

Zabuza said, "It's such a headache to have a rich client like that."

Haku asked, "They why you listen to him."

Zabuza replied, "He has something that we need now for the revolution in Kirigakure. It's all about money. Otherwise, I would have cut him down myself."

Haku said, "I never thought the demon brothers would get captured."

Zabuza replied, "No time to think about that. Now we have to finish the job. Let's go Haku."

With Team 7....

Now Team 7 and Tazuna are on a boat with the friend of Tazuna. They successfully reached the land of waves. They said goodbye to Tazuna's friend. After walking for a few more minutes Naruto sensed someone with high jonin level chakra in the bushes. He threw a kunai which caught the head of a replaced rabbit.

Sakura furiously said, "Naruto-Baka you killed a rabbit."

Naruto replied, "I caught a dinner for all of us."

Kakashi said, "That's one way to see it but what a snow rabbit is doing in the land of waves at this summer season."

Tazuna replied, "I've never seen a rabbit like this in the area."

Kakashi sensed something coming towards them.

Kakashi immediately said, "Duck everyone."

Everyone ducked at the same time and a long and heavy sword passed while spinning above their head. It stuck on a tree. When they looked at it, someone was standing on that executioner's sword.

Zabuza said, "Kakashi who copied thousand jutsu. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Kakashi replied, "Zabuza Momochi, the Demon of Hidden Mist, one of the seven swordsmen of Kirigakure. Become rogue after a failed attempt to assassinate the fourth Mizukage."

Zabuza said, "It's an honor to be remembered by Kakashi Hatake. What are doing with some children and an old man?"

Kakashi replied, "They are the genin of Konoha and the old man is our client."

Zabuza denied his claims and said, "For me, they are kids, who have not gone through blood ritual. In my book, they are not even ninja."

Sakura curiously asked Kakashi, "What is the blood ritual he is talking about Kakashi sensei?"

Kakashi replied, "You see in Kirigakure there was a custom, to graduate from the academy you have to kill your classmate."

Sasuke and Sakura were shocked and said, "What!!!!"

Kakashi replied, "It was abolished later because a kid killed an entire class who came for the graduation exam. It's him, who did it."

Zabuza said, "It was a fun time. You eat with them, sleep with them, and call them friends, to kill them at last. A person who has the same dream as you."

Zabuza gives the killer intent and Sakura and Sasuke get frozen by fear. Naruto is waiting for this moment. He is trying to resist the killing intent without magic or chakra. He felt his mental power which he was working on dancing inside his mind. His mental power is evolving after so much practice. He needs a real killing intent to fully awaken it by surprise.

Naruto laughed and said, "Hahahahahaha it feels damn good. Give me more."

Kakashi caught by surprise and said, "Naruto what happened to you?"

Zabuza with a surprised face said, "You are a strange kid. Your fellow genins are frozen and you want more."

Naruto takes out his hand and his mother's black sword appears in hand with a smoke. Naruto dashed forward and slashed his sword on the tree in which Zabuza was standing. The tree split in half from the middle.

Naruto said, "Ohh I forgot to introduce myself. I am Naruto Uzumaki, the best in the ninja world."

Zabuza replied, "I am impressed Kakashi at least one of your brats is not useless. But kid you are not the best in the ninja world."

Naruto sarcastically said, "Neither the seven swordsmen of the mist. I heard a true story of a Konoha genin who has beaten the shit out of all seven swordsmen alone in the Third ninja war. He killed their 4 members and deeply injured the other 3. That Konoha genin's name was Mighty Dai. Correct me if I am wrong."

Zabuza attacks Naruto from behind. He stabs Naruto. Others were shocked at what had happened. But Naruto turned into bats and then they flew away. Zabuza was horrified by this kind of substitution.

Zabuza thought, 'What kind of genin is he? Genin are not supposed to be this calm.'

Kakashi said, "Naruto your playtime is over, as a jonin sensei I cannot allow you to fight him. Come back and protect Tazuna, mission comes first."

Naruto appears behind kakashi.

Naruto replied, "Yeah sure, mission comes first."

Naruto returns to protect Tazuna. He already got what he wanted his mental strength already evolved to a new level.

Zabuza made a hand sign and the entire field was covered in the mist and he disappeared in it.

Kakashi opened his sharingan eye and searched for him.

Sasuke got another shock when he saw his hidden eye. He never imagined he would see sharingan again especially other than Itachi's sharingan.

Sakura with a puzzled expression said, "What's with kakashi sensei eyes?"

Sasuke replied, "It's an Uchiha dojutsu, 'Sharingan'. It helps you to read your opponent's moves in battle, you can use it to copy and also to put them in genjutsu."

Zabuza clone appears in the middle of them but Naruto stabs it. Kakashi and Zabuza battle on the river. Zabuza tricks Kakashi with his water clone jutsu and almost catches him in water prison. But a kunai was on his way which flew past his hand and his jutsu was cancelled.

Zabuza and kakashi at the same time.

Zabuza said, "Water dragon jutsu."

Kakashi said, "Water dragon jutsu."

Both jutsu collided with each other and canceled it.

Again Kakashi copies Zabuza's hand signs at the same time. At the last moment, he produced an illusion for Zabuza and it did the trick.

Kakashi said, "Water vortex jutsu."

The jutsu hit Zabuza and threw him quite far. Kakashi threw his kunai and aimed it at his legs and hand. Before he could finish him off Haku appears as a hunter nin and hits Zabuza with a senbon. Kakashi checked his pulse but found none. He thought Zabuza died.

Haku said, "I have been tracking him for months. Thank you."

Haku takes Zabuza on his shoulder and disappears. Kakashi closed his sharingan eyes. Before he could collapse to the ground. Naruto put his hand on his back and transferred some of his chakra to him.

Kakashi said, "Thanks Naruto."

Naruto replied, "Don't bother, I do not want to carry a 100kg weight on my shoulder after the long journey."

Kakashi sighs at the antique of Naruto. But then he realized something that he couldn't think about during the battle due to exhaustion.

Kakashi said, "Ohh shit what have I done."

Tazuna asked, "Any problem Mr Kakashi."

Kakashi said, "Because I was exhausted. I couldn't think properly at that time. But I think Zabuza is still alive."

Sakura replied, "But you checked him. His pulse was not working."

Kakashi said, "But he used senbon, and the real hunter-nin always destroys the dead body on the spot."

Sasuke said with determination, "Next time I will prove myself. I will not freeze."

They reached the Tazuna house and his daughter opened the door.
