26 Chapter 26: Ancient One

It's already been a year since the Clan was formed.

There were now 31 members of the Clan. Some of the group's members were unfamiliar with Arthur because of his chaotic presence, which appeared to have temporarily confused the chronology. Thankfully, none of the original clan members who were meant to be present appear to be absent; rather, there's just some bunch that has been added.

But none of that really had an impact on Arthur. Since Arthur spent every day with the group, they had all already become his pals. Particularly for the first nine individuals as he had spent a lot more time with them than the rest.

Nevertheless, there have been a lot of occurrences inside the clan during the previous few months. The majority of the Clan members had already attained Level 100; a few still hadn't, but were on their way, making the difference minimal.

They also managed to acquire a lot of materials and items throughout their explorations.

In Nidavellir, they also found a sizable mining area. Obviously, once they discovered such a gem, they seized control of the mine and used it exclusively as the source of resources for their equipment and other items.

They managed to clean out the Mine after a whole month. They're lucky that no one had found that place other than them so they didn't encounter any sort of troubles.

They actually benefited a great deal from the mining. Of course, it was evenly allocated among them all, as each of them need a substantial amount of resources and materials for the weapons, items, and equipment they intended to develop or modify. With the exception of Arthur.

He does, of course, have a ton of different types of equipment that either require upgrading or are in the process of being created, but materials are the last thing he wants in the world. He actually needs more free time than that meagre quantity of Materials.

So when the clan gave Arthur's share to him, he just refused. He just told them that they need it more than him.

Even though it might seem that way to some, Arthur isn't being considerate. He just can't handle it because it's too adorable for him. It's like to a child donating pennies to a man who enjoys spending millions.

They're giving away a fraction of what they made from a single mine, whereas Arthur had been mining nonstop for the last few years, milking most of the mine from nine worlds, and still whining about his profits.

So overall, other than Arthur, they're all happy with their gains.

However, since the bulk of them still lack high-quality equipment, materials are crucial to them for whatever reason. A minimum of "Good Quality" by their own criteria. But they all managed to overcome it all through teamwork and communication. They're a whole team after all.

However, even with all that cooperation and all. Clansmen will inevitably argue with one another. As the days go by, conflicts among the clan members intensify. There was even a certain day when Touch Me had a really huge disagreement with one of the members of the Clan.

According to the other members, they had a really heated up discussion which led the latter to suddenly leave the clan and quit playing the game as well. This resulted in a very bad atmosphere within the Clan. During those days, some of the members have been in a very awkward and gloomy situation.

The internal conflict within the Clan back then had left a great scar on some of the Member's hearts. But the whole mood gets backed on track after a couple of raids and PKing.

Only Arthur seemed less affected by the whole situation as he's the one who would sometimes calm his friends down and say some jokes just to lighten up the mood and break the ice between them. He would even go and talk to Momonga and Touch me sometimes since both of them are the most affected by what happened.

According to some of them, it felt like a stain on the glorious memories of a closely-knit clan.

Although the conflict was long over, Touch Me developed some guilt over that past matter, feeling that the wrongdoing he had caused created friction with other clan members ever since.

But even though the other clan members had begun to get past it. Even Momonga and Ulbert had observed Touch me becoming upset by something at times, and Arthur would occasionally still see it. Sometimes they would go and question him about it, but he would just brush them off and tell them not to worry.

But after all that, everything came back to normal.

The whole Clan had gone back to their own businesses and continued to do the things they were doing every day before that ordeal. No one had ever mentioned the things that had happened on those days and they all decided to just forget about it.

Their Clan as a whole, possessed Two world items. The Atlas and The Hygieia's Chalice.

Those two are founded by Wish III and Tabula while they're on their own explorations. But even though they found it, it was treated as a Clan Treasure.

They all agreed that it was a part of the clan and if ever someone wants to use it for something, they all should vote for it. Nobody within them has the right to just use them without any permission from the other members. Even Touch Me himself.

But during this, Arthur voiced his opinion.

Since Arthur and the Clan were only using a rented base as their "Main Base". And since he knows that the safety of these World Items isn't guaranteed here if they choose to keep them here. He chooses to act and propose the idea to them, that he should hold onto it until they finally have a much more secure place.

Though Arthur is friends with all the Clan Members, he's not that close with each and every one of them. So those who don't know him well, especially the new members that joined their Clan not so long ago, doubted Arthur.

Which made Arthur laugh hysterically, confusing those who asked about his capabilities in protecting the World Items.

After that, Arthur immediately slapped them with a massive Flex on their faces.

"Do you know who I am? I am the Ruler of darkness, One with a thousand faces, and in whole YGGDRASILL, if someone claims me to be second then there won't be any first. And even if all the world champion comes together at me I can hold my own-I am Ancient One, the oldest and strongest in the whole YGGDRASILL." Arthur said with passion.

Other than those who know Arthur very well, all of them seemed to swallow their tongue.

Some of them, especially those who cannot believe it, looked towards Touch Me as he is the current 3rd Rank Player. Someone that Arthur added in the Players, that according to him, he can easily beat. Their gazes seemed to be saying "Did you just hear what this fucker said? Aren't you going to say something about it?"

Which Touch Me replied, much to their disbelief.

"I don't know about the whole 'oldest' and 'darkness' thing. But I Can't argue about him being the strongest. And the reason why most of you don't know about this is because most of the time he is in Shapeshifting form." Touch Me said to the new member.

After Touch Me said that, Peroronchino followed up as if to support Arthur's opinion earlier.

"In any case, it's already a well-known fact that the Ancient one already holds multiple World Items. Entrusting these two in his hands seemed to be a good idea."

The Clan Members who had previously been unaware of these truths about Arthur were completely floored by hearing them. Has he been lugging around a lot of World Items ever since?

He is the strongest Player? Then Why isn't he the Leader? Why do we not know this? Why did no one tell us about these? That we have the Current Rank one in our Clan.

These are the questions they had in their mind after all that. They don't know who Ancient One is exactly before after these happenings, they just know that he's a high-rank Player and an important part of the Clan since he's a founding Member, that's all.

They don't know him, but they do know the Famous Rank One. About his achievements, the greatness of that Player, the issues he has, the weight of his name, all the Titles he has, the Merits he accumulated, and kinds of stuff like that. For them, as a fellow Heteromorphic Player, the Rank One is their living Idol in YGGDRASIL. And that same Player is with them all along?

One might ask. How did they not see Ancient One info if anyone in YGGDRASIL can just check someone's basic info such as IGNs through their very own consoles? And why did no one tell anyone about Arthur's real information then? Why did they hide it from the others if they're just going to reveal it in the end like it is a well-known fact that everyone should have known already?

Well, First of all, they didn't hide it, it is just that, no one asked about it.

Second, Arthur being the highest rank of Heteromorphic can manipulate his basic information. The only thing that shows when someone checks him up is his Health bar and the always depleted MP bar. He made it like this so PKers wouldn't run away so fast the moment they checked his Info.

Lastly, no one explained it so openly due to Arthur's role in the Clan. Their secret weapon, or the Fail-Safe just in case something goes awry within their Clan.
