Chapter 9.

•Overhaul's POV•

I grabbed the briefcase with the gun and bullets in, before I headed out of the maze-like base.

The crisp, autumn day was beautiful, if it weren't for the reason I was out here, I may even enjoy it. The breeze had the scent of rain in it, I seemed to enjoy that smell - even if it was subtle due to my mask.

I found myself heading straight for   Y/N's café.

It was nice, too nice - in fact, it was one of the nicest café's in the district, which was a prime spot for villains to hunt.

I pulled the door open and stepped inside. I went straight over to the counter, the jar it had on the side for tips was quite full.

"Hello, welcome to Sakura café, how can I help you?" Yanaki - I saw from her nametag - asked me.

"Is Y/N here today? I have urgent business to discuss with her." I put firmly, staring her down - after she had finally lifted her gaze from the tablet that takes orders.

"She's in the back..-" She started, and I was already about to walk around the counter until she stopped me. "You can't go back there, sir! Her break is in half an hour anyways, so wait at a table." Yanaki seemed nervous, maybe I could break her.

"Move aside before there are organs lying around for an organ donation." I  hissed into her ear as I leaned down, it was slightly muffled from my mask, but I knew she heard me. She stiffened slightly as her face's colour drained. I quickly took this oppurtunity and slid past her.

"Y/N, the League of Villains may or may not be after yo-" I said as I got into the back, only to find Shigaraki's four fingers already around her throat.

"Shoot her." He said firmly, although still raspy.

"How did you know I'd be here.." I said after a moment's hesitation.

"I put a tracker upon your jacket. Now, shoot her." He demanded, like a child. Why did I end up working with him in the end anyways?

"You sadistic little shit.." I grumbled, as I could feel my rage boiling up inside of me.

"Now, now.. Name-calling won't solvr the task at hand. Do as you're told like a good doggie and shoot the goddamn hero!" He shouted in frustration. I'm surprised nobody had found out that she was stuck in this situation sooner and how nobody has heard this maniac.

I slowly placed the briefcase on the counter and slid it open. I took the gun, and placed a bullet within it. I slowly aimed it at her head.

"No, no-!" Y/N cried out, although Shigaraki then placed a hand over her mouth.

I then shot.

It went straight through Shigaraki's head.

He collapsed.

Y/N sunk to her knees in relief and shock. I did the same.

What had I done?

Now there was bound to be a target on my head from the League of Villains.

I held my head in my hands, rethinking my life choices.

I'd made a mistake..

Keeping a hero alive instead of a comrade..

Is that a mistake?

It isn't just any hero..

It's my hero.
