Chapter 21.

•Y/N's POV•

•One week later•

"What do you mean that she is going to be in a coma for an unknown amount of time?" I heard Overhaul hiss at Chronostasis, who simply mumbled something of an apology and scurried out.

My eyes flung open a few hours later. What was the time? The day? The year?

I glanced around the room as I slowly sat up in the medical bed, a drip leading in through my wrist. I then noticed Overhaul sat in a chair besides the bed, a gaze of pure fury on me as I shifted uncomfortably. I knew he was about to give me a whole lecture, a speech even.

"I shot you." He put simply after a minute, leaning his elbows on the bed railings. My eyes widened.

"W... With a n-normal bullet...?" I whisper, my eyes continuing to widen, my face paled as I continued staring at him.

"No. In other words, your quirk is gone. Never to return." I could see the smirk growing on his lips as he said this. I shuddered, my eyes welling up as I quickly averted my own gaze to the door.

"Leave." I finally whisper after a moment, not even looking at him. I couldn't.

"Pardon?" He narrowed his eyes, as he slowly stood up.

"Leave!" I somewhat scream, as my face quickly landed in my hands and I sobbed into them.

I felt the bed shift, as I glanced up to see Kai sitting on the end of it now. "Perhaps I could just cheer you up a bit. Keep your mind off of things."

I quickly shake my head and point at the door, he lets out an exasperated sigh as he gets up and walks towards the door, opening it a fraction before he looked back at me.

"You'll regret this, truly. Without your quirk, you really have nothing to stand against me anymore, Y/N." He put curtly, as he slid out of the room and slammed the door shut.

My quirk.

Gone.

Forever.

And ever.

And ever.

I continue sobbing into my hands, but would having no quirk stop me? Really?

He wouldn't - couldn't - kill me, could he?

I made a wry smile as I sat there, laying back down as a sudden wave of exhaustion hit me.

I quickly fell fast asleep.
