Chapter 2. True colors

Yuko looked at the people around her and her eyes shrunk slightly. She looked at marks body for a second, hearing the caws of crows. Her clear blue eyes looked up to the sky and fixated on the moon that shined through the tall trees. Her eyes locked on to the vibrance of a black feather, it floated down slowky and casted a shadow over her eyes.

The Electric blue of her eyes, became more pronounced and unconsciously a smile came to her face. Reaching her hand up slowly, she hesitated as a shadow loomed over her.

"S-sor-sorry.. it was pretty.. ehh.." Yukos head bowed as she looked at the white snow. She thought it was a game to these creatures, that they would still kill her.

The calm yet distorted voice came once again, it made yuko freeze while she saw a large hand reach down and lift her chin.

"Wha-what are you doing.." Yuko was flustered for a second, this time seeing the beings face. It didn't have the smile of craze like before but a gentle one. She looked at his blue face that was other worldly and his overly long pointed ears.

He spoke once more as she was frozen, she could only see his hand lift hers and place something in her palm.

Yuko who finally reacted after some time, opened her hand as she turned away. Her eyes shined, in her hand was a large crow feather and a heart made of ice.

"Ehh?!" When her eyes shot back up to the being, she saw his hand rub her head as a white line appeared. Her chains were broken as they fell to the ground.

"Why are you letting me go? I-I.." Yuko couldn't believe this, never in her life did she think this turn of events would happen.

The creature turned his head away as it spoke into the darkness. Yuko only watched as he reached his hand into the shadows that surrounded the tall tree. When he pulled it back, rains were in his hand and a white horse came out. It's knows blowing vapor as its long main blew.

"This.. this is.. it's for me?!" Yuko who looked in fascination at the horse spoke. She watched as the being handed her the rains. When she pulled her hand away, she watched as he grabbed her own and placed them in her hand.

"She gets to leave?! What about us?!"

"Yuko say something to them?!"

"You can't leave us here!"

While walking to the horse and petting it's main, yuko froze as she heard yells. She wasn't very tall so she walked around the horses body. Her eyes looking at the members of her party who yelled at her.

Yuko's eyes shot up as she looked at the shadows that blocked her sight into the forest. Her eyes opened as she saw 10's of tall silhouettes, their eyes and smiles shined in the dark. At their hands, the reflection of what she thought were weapons could be seen faintly.

"Yuko please! We're sorry!"

"Yes! Don't believe mark! We would never do that to you!"

"Ahhh!"

Yuko watched on and only heard the voices of her friends in the background. Her eyes looking at the tall figures walk out. Their long white hair, their sculpted faces, blue skin and overly long pointed ears. Their faces smiling as they held down each of her party members.

Before Yuko could get words out, she heard the beings voice again. It's hand gesturing to the horse as it's blade was now in its hand again.

"Please!" The woman with red hair, turned her head and yelled as she looked at yuko. Her eyes shrinking as she saw the look on her face.

"I can't, what's the matter? You can't just die for me?" Yuko words were like the world had crashed down on them. They only saw her blue eyes and blonde hair. Her eyes glowed with a strange light while her hair blew in the wind.

"You traitor!"

"After all we did for you!"

"I'll kill you! I swear!"

"Yes.. that's just what I wanted to see.." Yuko spoke slowly, lifting herself on to the horse. Her words cold as their faces changed.

"What are you talking about!" The red head who watched the creatures move out of the way for her, looked at Yuko's back as it was almost covered in shadows. She looked up as her body froze, seeing yuko turn one eye to look at her. Her blue eye glowed as she moved into the forest.

"Your true colors.."

"Cawh!"

"Cawhh!"

Vapor came from the horses mouth as it moved in a set Direction. The snow fell more as the wind blew. Yuko rode as fast as she could, ignore the yells of her party and road towards the fog that cut this place off from the outside world.

With no one around but trees and the crows above. They wouldn't be able to see as Yuko reached the fog wall, her and the horse turned to clouds of ice that blew in the wind.

The place which they disappeared a light shined, while a black color of an object contrasted with the snow. Another objects blue shined brightly as it laid in the deep snow. The ice heart and black feather lay next to another identical set. Only for the ladder to crack apart and disappear into snow while the other remained.

"So this is how it happens huh.."

"No wonder no one made it this far.."

"What do you think red?"

Voices of the ones left behind echoed as they were dragged through the snow. The snow deep as their feet sank in more, looking at the back of the being who road on a horse.

They looked around at the creatures who walked beside them as they conversed.

"I'll kill her! Next time I see her.." Red, the woman who was the true leader of this party said, angrily.

Each of their talks stopped as the being on the horse stopped. In front was a wall of snow clouds. It stretched high into the sky and went on forever as their chain was pulled again. They had no way to Resist as the horse disappeared into the fog and they soon followed.
