Untrue is my Decision - I ran

"All my life, I thought I was useless..."

"But... you... our fans, the members no, my brothers-"

"They – You all made me realise I have a purpose..."

The voice choked.

"Thank you..." A silent whimper echoed.

.....

Liam's heart was in a conflict.

He found Adrian, who was lost after a trip to buy some food out – but he felt like he had made a mistake.

After finding the boy, his ears were constantly assaulted with rubbish talk and strange accents.

Liam was tempted to send a text to one of their instructors but refrained. : "Pls help me"

Yes, he was willing to violate grammar for this.

Liam, a 19-year-old juvenile with sunshine blonde hair and terrain-brown, hazy eyes – the colour you find in those ancient-eras based movies. His face had an excellent ratio; his hair was combed dainty with a few strands floating. He didn't have the most perfect features, but all of them made him look aesthetically pleasing. His sharp eyebrows contoured his brown orbs with the clean lids high, which made him look sharp and rigid – Ready to pierce any moment. Shy but long eyelashes framed the glossy masterpiece. His thin pale-pink lips just complimented that manifestation of those candid eyes, bringing out the stern, aloof aura out. His jaw protruded, his cheeks all stuck up in, his face was chiselled like an actual sculpture.

But he was still young; time will tell how the boy will mature with his features. Yes, but he was young – which gave him a look of a delinquent. It wasn't very appealing. It made him look like he wanted to pick a fight, daunting.

His face possessed no expression; his lips were straight and tightly closed.

After walking for a while, Adrian felt the need to assault... strike up a conversation.

"Liam, are you THE character?" Adrian blinked.

"The what character?" Liam's face was still the same, but the voice expressed interest.

"You know the cool person of the group-" Adrian stopped for a moment to ponder.

But Liam did not hesitate and spoke in the silence.

"Yeah, that's me." His voice was a little prideful.

Adrian's head had finished processing through his library of mixed language vocabulary and corrected himself.

"I mean cold, you know the arrogant one! Behaves like smart but is not!"

Liam nodded in a seemingly confused manner and added after thinking for a while.

"I'm not sure."

"Maybe."

Adrian hissed an "Oooh" and skipped happily with Liam, their way back to their company.

..

"So, how's Adrian?"

"He's an introvert. He's only opening up to me – but for now.."

"He's fine. He's a little shy to initiate conversations with strangers like to ask directions, but he seems pretty okay to me. It's only the accent; he needs to watch all the northern gaming videos to digest it. But he gets stiff in front of a camera." Liam stated.

The man who enquired was at a loss for words for a moment and then continued.

"Will he be fine before debut?"

"Debut?" Liam snickered. That single word triggered something locked, something bound.

"I know why Zac left – Because it's way too long."

"We both can be a duo or just soloists. Why the need?"

"You wanted me to debut in a duo first! But now you're just twisting your ways!" Translucent tears welled in his glass-like orbs.

"Look Liam. There are reasons."

"I... I don't understand you at all."

"Why can't I just rap? Why are you blocking me? I want to find another agency, just like them."

"I'm just a test subject. You want to see how well will a new boy-band go like."

Liam realised what he said and quickly apologized.

"I'm sorry."

The man sighed, He wanted to explain, but couldn't.

"How is your rap going? Did you improve?"

"Sucks if it didn't, that's the only thing I'm good at."

"Liam-"

His voice was shadowed by the content chattering and laughing of some girls.

"What's the happy news?"

"Our new album just reached #43 in the charts!" A tall, beautiful girl replied.

"That- That is amazing! Congratulations! We should start promoting you all MORE seriously, shouldn't we?" The man joked.

"C'mon! Already our schedules are packed. Fine, but we can all do it!"

"We'll have a meeting soon in the afternoon... Hi Liam!"

"Hey

."

Their conversation ended with a few more congratulatory messages and the beaming, optimistic girls all hopped towards their practise room.

Liam vision encompassed them, his eyes getting as dark as the shadows which crept in the night.

Not a positive feeling, one bit.

"Stop doing this Liam... Stop... Stop feeling this way!"

The juvenile bit his lip and clutched the corner of his sleeve. His perturbed mind state was slowly reflecting on his face – His visage was pale and the constrained clear fluid traced his cheeks. His hand covered his face, hiding his pain.

....

Idols. They are simply products with expiry dates. They are NOT musicians but fake jewels - exquisite and pleasing to the eye.

If they're too old or if they are in the industry for too long – People just forget about them.

..

"Liam"

"You're talented. I have to admit, your rapping skills are amazing."

"But they need practise indeed. Everybody needs practise. No one was perfect from the beginning. People have shortcomings. "

"Yes, sir."

The man stared at the juvenile. He was concerned

"Your dance isn't that good, so you won't debut in an idol group... You know your plans right?"

"I do sir."

"So yes, now you see. You're young. Next up, you're looks; they are very hard, manly and stern. So, we need a new outlook. A persona."

"...Huh?"

"You have to have a cold, unapproachable attitude..."

"Just... have a poker face. You need to aloof and take things always seriously"

"I can't act well. I can't... hide emotions"

"That's why... practise that too."

"Because of the industry, you might be shaky."

"Because of the way you look."

"People have to make up for their short-comings like this."

"Okay, Liam? You got it."

Hesitation draped his voice but the overwhelming persuasion got him.

"...Yes, sir."

"Good. Now c'mon. Time to practise"

The man gripped the boy's shoulders, gave them a rough shake, smiled and walked away.

Liam closed his eyes.

"I have to waive. My passion won't be forsaken by something as simple as appearance"

A slightly- fat middle-aged man looked at the conversing figures. His plump face and gentle curvatures made him look very amiable and cordial.

But his expression was hard and exhibited feelings of remorse and guilt.

"It isn't easy. But it's needed"

"I'll make it happen, but... sacrifices are needed."

"I hope you understand Liam."

...

....

"Savour the taste,

The last drop of the ambrosia –

You can hold our hands too,

Just close your eyes,

And fly away"

....

Sorry for not updating for a long time, issues crowded my daily life.

I just realised I have a very messy way of writing, breaking plots into different pieces and just leaving it to imagination to connect them and this is the first chapter where a decent (somewhat) explanation was there.

Recommended song to listen with this: River flows in You by Yiruma.

"Therefore, return to your God, Observe kindness and justice, And wait for your God continually."
