Gina still wasn’t very friendly, but at least she didn’t ignore Cam anymore. Her cell was right next to Cam’s and Gina had even asked her a few questions tonight as they stood in the corridor before lock down. Gina was part of Ruth’s family and something told Cam that if she were going to get into that group it would be through Gina. No one else in the family even acknowledged her, except Tuck whom Cam saw in the gym every now and then.
Cam had accepted a small hit of coke in the shower room tonight, but it wasn’t the drugs that were keeping her awake. Usually, Cam would be asleep by this time, either from exhaustion or boredom, but tonight, sleep was the furthest thing from her mind. She’d tossed and turned for quite a while after lights out, but had finally gotten out of bed.
A letter had come from Michael today. Just one page: very short but to the point:
