Farewell to the Settlement
Barka walked closer to hand everything over. "We've always used leaves of this size to wrap and secure our medical goods before leaving to sell them in Abydah. I haven't been in years, but I've sent my sons on occasion when we have enough ingredients to spare."
She handed over a bundle of mixed jerkies, a cloth bag, and a leaf-wrapped jar. "In the jar, you'll find what we call fruit leathers. We smash and blend the flesh to then dry it out. They can stay good for long journeys, weeks at a time if need be.
"Though I recommend you eat these berries first, as they will sour long before the fruit leathers."
Rizz took the goods with a smile and accepted the bundle of large leaves with a nod. "Thanks, Barka! I'll use these for sure.
"But I'm still not teaching you brewing for free."
