9 Chapter 9: Wedding (2)
The wedding place was grand but its quality is still subpar compared to the wedding of legitimate Alphas and Omegas of the Royal Family
Still, Ryden already receives better treatment compared to other illegitimates like him
This was the Emperor's way to keep him as he could be considered as a Great Sword of the Empire
Almost no one knows how great of a soldier the 6th Prince was. He was one of the people that prevents the Empire's enemies from breaching the borders
This marriage is something that the parents of the bride and groom decided by themselves but even then, not even the slightest bit of unwillingness can be sensed from them
Clyde was smiling shyly while sometimes throwing a glance towards his husband to be. Whenever he do that, a slight blush would even spread from his cheeks
The people that noticed his movements came to the conclusion that he was attracted to the 6th Prince's unmistakably striking appearance
Fortunately, Ryden is a drop-dead gorgeous man even if he was rough in the edges. It was not hard for Clyde to feign an infatuated expression
Clyde's acting was simply too perfect, no one could fight fault in it. Ryden on the other hand wasn't that bad
Despite thinking that acting like this is gross, he still has a visible smile on his face. He doesn't look like someone that is unwilling to have this marriage much to everyone's surprise
They thought that the 6th Prince would be enraged at this sudden marriage but he wasn't!
As the Empire's sword, Ryden's image was quite... bad
After all, he is someone that was always sent to a battlefield. The lives his hands took were uncountable
Even if he was doing that for the Empire's sake, it was no doubt that he is a Grim Reaper on the battlefield
Who would have thought that such a person will have this soft side in him?
The acting skills of the two made both of them look like a match made in heaven. It was like they don't suit other people except for each other
In no time, the bride and groom reached the bishop, the one that will officiate their wedding
The position of a bishop might not be the highest in the Church but it was still extremely high. No normal people would have a bishop as their wedding presider
The ceremony continues without any delay. Making a scene here is the same as slapping the Emperor's face that bestowed this wedding
Even if the Nobles wants to make a scene, they could only make it a subtle one that would not make the Royal Family lose face
"Does His Highness the 6th Star of the Empire accept the Second Omega of the Rothland Duchy as his lawfully wedded wife?" The bishop asked the Prince that looks at his bride
His blue eyes were as clear as the cloudless skies. Being stared at by such a man made Clyde feel a bit bashful
Damn it, how could a person be this handsome? Clyde feels like his heart would malfunction if he receives such a stare every day
"I do" Ryden answered softly. He might be a muscle head but Clyde's words earlier convinced him already
Ryden is really clueless about politics and such. He racks his brains to think of a way to save himself from the Empress but no matter how hard he tries, he couldn't think of any plan
As of now, he could only put his trust in Clyde which wasn't that hard. Both of them lived on earth and they know that both of their lives are at stake here
To make sure that Clyde's plan would succeed and they would continue living, Ryden was really giving it his best without knowing the effects it would have
Clyde bit his lower lip while moving his head to the side as if he can not bear receiving Ryden's hot gaze
This time, he wasn't merely acting. He really felt like he would melt from those piercing gaze
Now that Clyde was acting this bashful, it made the audience convince that it wasn't weird if Ryden fell in love at first sight with his bride
Even they would feel that they are lucky to have a such a wife. The only stain of Clyde after all was that he was born as an illegitimate omega
"Does the second omega of the Rothland Ducy accept His Highness as his lawfully wedded husband?" This time, it was the bishop's turn to ask Clyde that nodded his head
"I do" Clyde responded and the bishop reached out his arm to place on top of the lowered head of the bride and groom
"With the Goddess of Light - Luminas as the witness, I now pronounce His Highness Ryden Carstensen and Clyde Carstensen as husband and wife!" The bishop announced and a pure white light covered the entirety of the two's bodies. A symbol that the Goddess has accepted their marriage
"You may now seal the union with a kiss!" The bishop continued and the two were stunned at that
They were acting skilfully earlier but they forgot one thing... weddings here are similar to the wedding back on earth. They must also kiss each other in front of these many people!
Clyde has never been kissed nor touched by his previous husband that he didn't know was homophobic at that time. He doesn't know how to proceed and his mind starts to malfunction
It comes to the point that their guests start murmuring with each other as to why the two weren't kissing yet
Aren't they acting infatuated with each other earlier? What is happening now?
Ryden stared at Clyde that seems to be at a loss
'Is he thinking that kissing me is similar to him betraying his real husband?' Ryden thought in his head and he felt dissatisfied
Although he won't have any romantic feelings for Clyde, they are still husband and wife now. No man would want their wife to be thinking about another man right at their wedding!
In dissatisfaction, Ryden wrapped his arm into Clyde's waist, causing the omega to yelp loudly in shock
"W-what are y-you..." before Clyde can even finish his words, a soft sensation already landed on his lips
He could see Ryden's closing eyes directly in front of him as they shared a kiss together
Clyde's mind was in a jumble. He doesn't know left or right anymore. His mind that was originally thinking of various schemes short-circuited because of the first kiss he had ever received from his three lives
As this is just a kiss for the wedding, Ryden could only retreat after a few seconds while regretting it. His wife has a pair of soft and moist lips... how tasty
Even before the kiss ended, Clyde already melted into a gooey puddle. Only Ryden's arm was the one supporting his body to help him continue standing
After the kiss ended, he was still in the same state as before. The Prince worried that his wife would fall to the ground if he were to let him go and he can only pull Clyde into his chest
"Hmph, you're like a statue. Not even good at kissing" Ryden whispered to the point that only Clyde could hear it
He was speaking arrogantly but the deep shade of red in his cheeks was proof that he wasn't treating the kiss as simply as his mouth was saying. It's just that Clyde did not know that as he could not see Ryden's face currently
'Of course, I'm not! I never kissed anyone!' Clyde wanted to shout that but in fear that it would make the arrogant man further look down at him, he couldn't say that
"Only because it was you that kissed me! And how dare you do that? I'll surely make you pay later!" Clyde replied fiercely that causes the Prince to feel even more dissatisfied
Sure enough, just like what he thought, his wife is unwilling to kiss him because he was not his first and real husband
"Hmph, you're my wife now. Why should I pay for kissing my own wife?" Ryden grumbled but what he received was another pinch
"Arrogant bastard, I'll skin you alive!"
The two acted as if they have a world of their own. The speculating Nobles earlier finally 'realize' the reason for the delay of their kiss
It seems like these two are just being shy with each other. Well, it wasn't surprising. They originally don't know each other before and they only met at their wedding
It isn't weird that they are being bashful. But from what it looks like, the two seems like they would have a harmonious relationship with each other
A harmonious relationship would mean a stable household. Noble Families were often weakened because of the disharmony between the husband and wife
If these two are 'normal Nobles', many Nobles might have started to try and make a connection with them already
Unfortunately for them, they are both illegitimates. Not to mention, the Empress is always in the move to destroy the other Prince that might threaten his son's ascension to the Throne
