Pleasant Surprise
My partner was to join us within few weeks and my coach had found me a flexible job. And I started thinking I was better alone in China than, having mom chew my head 24×7 for not calling the girl while I was there !
I argued with her that, she didn't called me either ! She said as a guy, it was my duty to call her and initiate the conversation !
Where is this stupid rule written that, the guy must be the one to initiate everything ?
Why couldn't she call me first ? Would her ego have hurted if, she had called first ?
It is very annoying now that, mom can actually hit me with anything she could grab in her hands !
I had avoided and lied about calling her and everything when I was away, but it is impossible now !
She decided to get me meet that girl when she'll return.
I guess I can't avoid meeting her now. I will go and tell her something stupid and ask her to deny being friends with me, with the intension of getting married someday !
I put that thought out of my mind and focused on my job and practice of fighting and firing as well.
Coach called me and told me that, the person who was gonna be my partner had arrived and we were to meet next week.
And mom told me the same night that I will have to meet that stupid girl next week. I made her clear that, I will meet her but not next week the later was alright because I had some work.
She called her friend told her that I was busy next week so, we will meet the latter weekend.
And thankfully the girl too was busy the next week so, I was safe; at least for one more week !
My mom had asked me if, that girl was ready; she was gonna make me change my plan of going to work and meet her !
But she was busy too and so, the meeting got postponed until later weekend.
I reported to my coach and he had my outfit ready and my partner was ready to meet me as well.
I got disappointed to know that my partner was a girl !
With girls, comes the drama and I hate it ! I tried to change my coach's mind and change my partner to a boy.
He told me nobody else was qualified other than the two of us ! So, she being my partner was confirmed.
The coach asked us to fight against eachothers. I had in my mind that, I was easily gonna beat her to defeat; but she proved me wrong !
Though, from where I was watching, I won. But from where coach was watching, she won; and he was right !
She DID won !
She had thought about the worst ways of killing me along with many ways to save herself !
I must give it to her, she is not only trained vigorously, but her brain doesn't shut down in bad situations and under pressure !
We were told that, we would no longer be own by our own country after leaving for mission and till we returned without getting caught anywhere, to our country !
And we both were ok with it.
We were taken to the weapon storage and asked to pick whatever weapon we find handy and could use in the mission and promised to be taught if, we didn't know about that weapon.
We selected many different and unique and handy weapons which won't hamper our work or slow down our speed or get us caught !
As soon as I returned home, my mom took me to shopping. According to her I don't have any descent clothes which would be good for meeting a girl for the first time, for impressing her !
And I am sure the kind of clothes she made me buy, I won't have to ask that girl to reject me; she will run away the instant she will see me !
Who wears suit on a very first date ? And that too shiny black ? Was I getting married there and then if, she said that, she don't have any problem in marrying me ? Like seriously ?
I had kept it casual but this woman has to make everything dreamy and larger than life !
Good for her, at least the girl will run away seeing me like this on our first meeting; if, she is in her right mind !
Finally the day which I was begging God not to show up ever !
We have our first meeting today. Mom told me she was gonna stick with me all the time as she don't trust me anymore.
But she promised she won't purposefully eavesdrop our conversation !
We went to the venue and she made me grab a rose in my hand so that, it would be easy for the girl to guess whom she was meeting; as even she didn't downloaded my photograph her mom sent her !
Good.
She is equally not interested in me without even looking at my photo, just like me !
I am sure she too must be cursing her mother for naming her Josephine, like I curse at mine. Are we living in ancient world to have such names ?
I was sitting there grabbing the rose as mom told me to. The moment I keep it down for a bit, she called me immediately and told me to pick it up !
What kind of torcher is this ? And where the hell is that girl ?
I have been waiting here for like an hour here like I am some fool; and the princess isn't showing up !
I need to reject her immediately and start preparing myself for the first mission with my partner.
I was thinking about my work and partner when, her highness finally decided show little mercy at a peasant like me and show up !

A soft and very pleasant voice chimed in my ears.
The voice was sweet and I didn't had the heart to respond sarcastically. So, I decided to let go of the frustration of waiting for her.
