Harry White

"This is a plan. A plan to draw attention to them," a male voice said. Others listened to him silently as he spoke.

"We the Kyrios. are meant to be head. We deserve the most attention not some scientist faction with no sense of leadership," the man said again to face the audience. His audience were the board to the Dominus of Kyrios. The man was attractive. He had auburn hair which was cleanly styled. His blue eyes accompanied by his light skin made him stand out among others. He was Christian White, my father.

As he spoke, no one darted to counter his statements. My father was one of the best people in my life but he was a "power driven psychopath". Meaning he could go lengths to receive as much power as he wanted. He never even cared about the ongoing rampage of the grahfins.

"As long as they don't get into the barrier we're safe," was what he always told me when I brought it up in our conversations.

I switched off the TV and sighed. I wish I could do something except watching my father's boring speeches.

As I got up from the chair in my room , I suddenly remembered something. There was an expedition today. Although I wasn't among the representatives for Kyrios, I had full access to the big dome. I actually had access to almost any institute in Hassien. As the son of the Dominus, what didn't I have access to?

Anyway, I had to get dressed for the event as it was starting in a few hours time. On scanning my wardrobe I realized I didn't have anything casual for public sights. There was no time to sulk so I took my favourite grey silk with matching cuff links. I still don't know why I loved matching cuff links with my suits.

On getting to the door, my younger brother Kevin walked in.

"You're off to ...?" he asked while nibbling on his favourite fruit bar. I looked at him and patted his head. Kevin was the exact replica of my father. His auburn hair was lighter than Dad's but his blue eyes no different.

"An expedition. I wouldn't be long," I said as I walked out of my room with Kevin directly behind me.

"A trip?! I love trips. Where to?" he asked with a lot of enthusiasm.

"Well, I can't say no to your coming, but I can as well say no to your dressing. Dude!! You look bad man."

I said as I rushed down the stairs. I knew that would keep him away for a while. I headed to the kitchen for my breakfast. My mother, Gabrielle, was frying some eggs when I walked in.

"Oh Harry! Where are you off to?" She asked as she switched the burner off. I took after my mother, she had tanned skin like me and auburn hair tied into a bun. She looked a little bit pale as I looked at her, she always looked more cheerful when I came to the kitchen dressed.

I walked closer to her and removed some hair from her face

"Are you okay mom?" I asked as I made to hold her hands. She quickly withdrew her though

"I'm okay Harry but you still haven't answered my question" she said as she removed the eggs from the pan and placed them on the plate with pancakes

"I'm off to an exibition at Thoth Institute of Genetic Experiments" I said as I picked up a plate

"Does your father know?" She inquired. I shrugged and ate some pancakes

"You know your father deserves to know right?"

"And what If he doesn't? Mom I'm sixteen for christ's sake!" I replied as I felt a little uneasy about my mother questioning me about my father. I hadn't been on good terms with my dad for a while, he had been distancing himself from me because I told him I didn't want to be like him to his face.

My mother had been trying to get us back together but all her efforts were in vain. When I was done eating, Kevin rushed into the kitchen with a new set of clothes.

He wore a blue T-shirt with the inscription 'Kyrios rules' at the back with blue jeans and white sneakers. My mother's face suddenly brightened up.

"Your off with your brother Kevin"

"I. think I should be acceptable like this, don't you think Harry?" he asked as he quickly grabbed his plate and started eating.

"Eh...you don't that bad" I said as I straightened my myself. After a while I walked to the door

"How fast can you finish and get to the car?" I asked as I left the porch.

The Thoth Institute was a twenty floor dome shaped building. It's opaque windows refracted light in such a way it created a rainbow.

"Oh my!! This place is amazing!!" Kevin shrieked as we entered the dome. We got there s little bit late because there was a large enthusiastic crowd waiting for the exhibition to start

I saw some eyes land on me as I walked through the crowd, I noticed two people who had expressionless faces. They were both of different height and statures. The tall one had blue hair and white hair and looked kinda like an half-caste.

The short one had red hair cut into a fade and looked like an half-caste like the other. They were talking to each other strangely. I got suspicious after the conversation lingered for a little longer than usual.

Just then the red head nodded and let the crowd consume him as they followed the woman who spoke. I still didn't know why I had to know everything. As I was thinking on how to move forward, I heard a little girl swoon over Kevin.

"Oh my God! Your the son of the Dominus!" she shrieked as she rubbed Kevin's face. Kevin still chewed on his fruit bar and looked at the girl. I smiled and turned to leave when the girl called me

"Hey are you Kevin's bodyguard?" she asked while staring at me with her green eyes. Her green blonde hair was styled as a bob as she had fresh fair skin

'Bodyguard!? You seriously think I'm his bodyguard!?' I thought as she still stared at me. Before I could answer I was interrupted

"I'm really sorry about my sister, she can be a little wild at times" an older girl said as she held the little girl. I looked at the girl and my jaw dropped. She looked beautiful. Her smooth black layered hair fell across her shoulders as she shook her head . Her blue eyes glittered at that moment as her 'perfect' symmetrical nose sat on accompanying pink lips. I stared a bit too long because she whistled to get my attention

"Yeah... yeah I understand," I managed to reply. She was staring at me and I couldn't help but stare back at her. It lingered for a few minutes before the little girl below interrupted.

"Shannel look! The son of the Dominus of Kyrios is right in front of us," she said. Shannel laughed and gave me her hand.

"I guess you already know my name," she said as she showed off a set of white teeth.

"Yeah I guess I do," I replied receiving her hand.

"Attention everyone," the woman in front said as everyone faced the podium. She looked like she was in her late forties and her dull cinnamon skin didn't cross me either. The speech didn't mean anything to me. I managed to slip away unnoticed and I headed to the back of the room.

The back was filled with electrical appliances each connected to something I didn't care about. On moving a little further down the hall, I saw the engine (or something like that). I later realized that it was the engine due to its humming and the dull voice from the woman behind the curtain. I didn't notice anybody near the engine or around it so I decided to leave. On turning to face the door, I felt a dull pain in my head and it amplified gradually. When I raised my head to see who had hit me, I saw (could only see) a blurry figure, I only managed to make out his hair.

"Redhead. I so knew it!" I thought to myself. First degree sabotage by no other person but Christopher White. I knew those to people looked suspicious. I struggled to walk towards him but the redhead turned back and ran.. It took a second before the loud noise reached my eardrums. As I staggered to my forward an alarm rang out.

"High level of radiation. Evacuate immediately!"

I suddenly felt hotter. I pulled off my jacket and saw my sweat soaked clothes beneath.

"Shit! Kevin!" I suddenly remembered as I made for the door.

There was chaos everywhere. Everyone had ran for safety, some looking for the exit. I didn't even know where to start. I looked around but didn't see any sign of him.

"Kevin!!!!" I shouted as I ran into the crowd. I kept calling his name as I pushed people away. As I came out of the other side, I sighed. I didn't see him, along with Shannel and her sister.

"Could she have taken him?" I thought as I held my head. It still hurt after the loud noise had subsided.

"Blood," I muttered as I examined my hands after placing them on my head.. Just then I heard a screen from a young boy.

"Harry!!!" Kevin screamed. I froze. Kevin? He was somewhere close by. Before I could make a move the machine exploded. I heard it but I didn't feel fire. A strange wave knocked me to the ground. I landed on my injured head and I blacked out.
