CHAPTER 2: The New Alpha

"We're here," Diego announced.

"It's not as bad as I thought. It's not like east high but it's manageable right Kylee?" He turned his head towards her.

"Does that even matter? I still have to go whether I like it or not, Diego," she mumbled, her voice barely audible, giving off just how troubled she was. An atrabilious smile painted itself on her face as she stepped down from the car and into the huge building.

A few moments later, she was moving from one hallway to the other looking for her class; It didn't take her much time to find it. She stood at the door for a minute before finally walking in.

Everything came to a standstill as soon as the new girl stepped into the room. All eyes were on the frame standing by the door with the sunlight melting on her attractive brown skin, to her blue eyes, pink lips, and her expensive clothes that revealed her perfect hourglass-shaped body. Everyone apart from Jazz, who was at this point burning with jealousy stared at her in awe.

Being the most popular girl in school, no one was supposed to beat her at anything, not a single thing.

So who the hell was this new girl who seems to be beating her in so many things just by stepping into the room?

"Hi, you must be the new student, I'm Mr, Bryson — your teacher, "A man with hazel orbs and a barrel chest said with a smile plastered on his face.

"Can you please introduce yourself?"

"Sure," Kylee said as she made her way from the door to the front of the class. Kylee observed the classroom with its many students, and her stomach tied in a knot.

"Hi, my name is-"

"Excess me, Mr. Bryson." Jazz interrupted with a raised hand. Everyone turned their attention to her.

"Yes, Miss Blossom. How may I help you?" Mr. Bryson perked an irritated eyebrow at the girl, hoping his annoyance wouldn't seep through his tone.

"I would like to give a little orientation to this class's newest addition if you don't mind." Jazz's honeyed voice filled the room and Kylee finally met her gaze.

"Miss Blossom, I don't think that's-"

"It's not in your place to think," Jazz cut him off between gritted teeth.

"If you have any problem with me giving her a little briefing then we can always speak to the principal, Mr. Bryson."

The man's eyebrow twitched in irritation as a smile of pure evil danced on Jazz's lips. With a slight sigh, he shut his eyes and nodded.

"Fine."

Jazz quickly got up from her seat to speak to Kylee.

"Hey newbie, welcome to Crown High! Since you're new here, I'll do the honors in giving you the rules and regulations here. Firstly I am the queen here, don't look at me, don't talk to me, and never get in my way if you want a peaceful stay here. Okay, newbie?" Jazz states with an intimidating sound in her voice which ended up making Kylee laugh.

"Are you done?" Kylee asked with a plastic smile.

"Miss Blossom, right?" She pretended to forget about Jazz's name as she placed her index finger on her lips.

"Who in heaven's name told you that I enjoyed interacting with trash?"

The students seemed to melt away as the two girls' eyes met and heat flared.

"Now if I may introduce myself." Kylee turned from Jazz to the rest of the classroom.

"Hi, I am Kylee Westen, the new alpha of Crown High, you either follow willing or forceful either ways you're following whether you like it or not."

She turned back to Jazz.

"If you may excuse me, I have better things to do other than to stand here looking at your God forsaking face."

Kylee moved to the middle of the class where John, one of the high's basketball players, had stood up for her leaving Jazz speechless and embarrassed. Jazz angrily walked back to her seat. No one has ever embarrassed her like that.

"Hi, I'm Jordan Kennet, Crown High's basketball captain. Welcome to crown high." Jordan flashed her a warm smile and Kylee returned it.

"Thanks."

"I can't believe she is flirting with Jordan; it hasn't been up to an hour she got here, and she is already trying to take your place," Ruth, Jazz's best friend, whispered to her.

"No one can ever take my place, and I will never let anyone take Jordan from me either. Just wait and see, I'll make her pay for this," Jazz said bitterly.

"Now if you all are done with the drama, let's begin with the lesson for today," Mr. Bryson spoke up, then began teaching.

The sound of the bell could be heard all over the building. After hours of lectures, it was finally lunchtime.

"Would you like to seat with us in the cafeteria?" Jordan asked with a smile as he and Kylee both stood up from their seats.

"Us?" Kylee perked an eyebrow.

"Yes, I mean would you like to seat with me and my friends."

"Sure, of course. I'd love to, but I'll meet you there I need to go to the girls' bathroom." Kylee packed her bag and threw it over her shoulder.

"Should I wait for you?" Jordan slid her a curious glace and Kylee gave him a warm smile.

"Don't worry, I'll find my way there," she told him.

Kylee found her way to the girls' bathroom and sat on the toilet seat. All she could think about was her cousin Ken; she missed him a lot, so she took out her phone to give him a call but the sudden call of her name in a very high and angry tone made her stop. She quickly looked out the keyhole only to see jazz standing outside the door with an angry face.

"Oh, for God's sake. Will you stop screaming my name like a crazy person, Jazz." Kylee rolled her eyes and made her way out of the stall to the sink to wash her hands.

"Look here you, you little brat. I don't know where you came from, and I don't want to know, but you can't just come from nowhere and try to take my fame here at crown high," Jazz spat through gritted teeth as she glared daggers at Kylee's back.

"I might forgive you for that little drama you pulled in class and every other rubbish you might display in the future, but I will make you see hell if you don't stay away from Jordan."

By the time Jazz was done, Kylee had had enough of her rambling.

"How dare you come in here threatening me?" Kylee turned to face Jazz with narrowed eyes. "If I were you, I'd stay the hell away from me."

"Look here, Jazz, I'm Kylee Westen, and nobody, when I say nobody, absolutely nobody steps on my toe and gets away without paying for it, okay?" Kylee smiled coyly at Jazz and watched how her face twitched in irritation.

Kylee walked out of the girls' bathroom, leaving Jazz a little bit intimidated.

No one has ever been able to make her feel that way before, but intimidated or not she wasn't ready to let anyone take Jordan away from her, let alone Kylee, who just made her way to the top of her most hated list.
