The man raised her with one hand and carelessly threw her across the room to one of the men in white coats, "Do what you want with it. As long as you keep it locked up in the castle and alive, anything is allowed."

The person who caught Yuna was startled. He looked at the baby in his arms, looked up at the man, and nodded. Accepting the order, he responded with a firm, "Understood."

Yuna trembled from the throw, 'Is that guy insane?'

The person who caught her bowed and walked out of the room, the door closing behind them.

The man signaled for everyone in the room to leave. A young, blonde butler lifted the boy, who fell and exited with everyone else. The man watched them go, and he slowly diverted his gaze to the lifeless eyes of his love. She was beautiful and fair, with platinum blue locks and enchanting golden eyes, now as dull as rocks. Her skin was pale, but its flawlessness was as clear as day. She was perfect, but now, she's gone.

"Vivienne..." the man cried while resting his forehead on the palms of his hands. This man had the haggard appearance of white hair and black, hazy eyes. Even when mourning, he never broke the top image of elegance and nobility.

"Vivi..." he repeated her name over and over. The echoes of his helpless cries wound in the room like a broken record.

...

In a fancy hall with walls of beautiful gold designs, Yuna was in the arms of the white-coated man. There was nothing to do or say, so she kept her mouth shut. She occasionally glanced at his stoic face. The silence lasted until they approached a grand door.

The first thing that greeted Yuna when she entered the room was a brilliant, blinding light. The room looked medieval and aristocratic, decorated with blue wallpaper and rods of gold lining the corners. The room gave off a serene vibe with the calm drapes hanging down on the windows and a brilliant blue crib ready on the side. At this point, Yuna's eyes were sparkling. It was more than stunning - this room was unbelievably beautiful. Rather than a room, it looked like a work of art.

She thought seriously, 'Really, where am I?'

He set her down in the blue crib, checked around the room to see if anyone was looking, and gently rubbed her head, "You don't deserve this..." he continued empathetically, "I hope you'll stay safe here in the royal palace."

Seemingly in a rush, the white-coated person shot up. Heavy footsteps carried him out the door as he mumbled one last time, "I wish you a good life."

The man's wavering glance went over her before he took his leave.

A cold door slammed behind him.

...

Yuna's emotions were a jumbled mess, "Royal palace..."

She paused and looked around the aristocratic room and the crib she lay in. That's when Yuna became aware of her size, 'A 17-year-old student like me shouldn't be able to fit into a tiny crib.'

Her view went to her small hands. She tried talking, and a babyish voice came out. From the car accident to waking up on a woman's lap, then getting carried to a crib in some aristocratic-feeling room...

With this, Yuna concluded, 'I've probably been reincarnated into medieval royalty.'

She never believed in higher beings or supernatural occurrences. It had always been her belief that unexplainable things always originated from nature and science. Magic or miracles were unbelievable, yet here she was. To her, reincarnation was impossible – it's something that shouldn't happen because it is unreasonable. She believed everything in the world had an explanation, but there was just no reasonable answer for this case.

She chose to accept reincarnation and embrace these circumstances to stop her mind from flipping over. Yuna didn't have any real attachments to her past life, as they were all already gone... so there was nothing on Earth that she missed and nothing holding her back. It was still uncertain why she still had the memories from her previous life, but she shrugged it off. At least she didn't have to start from scratch in this strange, new world.

Yuna thought for a bit about what her exact position might be in this place. She pieced together the clues she had gathered since her arrival and concluded that she'd most likely become a child of royalty in a medieval era, judging from the clothes and gaudy rooms.

Additionally, from her bodily observations, Yuna had been born a princess.

'I wonder what my name is in this world,' she thought before deciding to let it go, as she'd learn it eventually.

...

A few hours were left for Yuna to sort out her thoughts. The only thing heard was the ruffling of curtains blown from the gentle breeze by the window.

It was then that she realized something.

'It feels like a couple of hours have passed, yet no one has come to check on me. Aren't I nobility? Shouldn't I have a maid or nanny to watch over me to ensure I'm not in danger?' she thought with a slight suspicion in her heart. Did this world follow the same medieval customs as her old one?

'Ah, wasn't my father in this world extremely pissed off when he saw that woman's death after my birth? Is he pushing the fault of her death onto me? He threatened to make my life a living hell after she died, so he might. But why do I get the feeling that he was being serious when he said those words...'

Suddenly, the room's door burst open, and furious footsteps marched in.

Yuna jolted. A person not unlike a demon walked towards her. The numerous veins on his head were on the verge of snapping. This same man was to be her "father" in this new world.

The demon opened his mouth and flared, "Now, who the hell decided to place this curb maggot in such a nice room?" He didn't seem to remember giving Yuna to the man in the white coat earlier.

They all looked down at the ground, shaking in fear and without response. No one wanted to become the target of the man's fury.

He only got angrier, "... You there, tell me," he pointed to one of the maids, "Where does all of our trash go?"

The maid he pointed to flinched and shivered in fear, "W-we either throw them out or place them in the bottom-most room, your majesty."

He smiled sinisterly, "That's correct. Now, instead of throwing out or placing this waste in the bottom-most room, where did you put it?"

The maid started sweating buckets and quietly whimpered, "We put it in a room used for housing one of the royal family's children, your majesty."

His sinister face morphed as he said calmly, "Exactly. Now, do I need to tell you what to do, or do you need me to show you?"

The room became enveloped in a dark pressurizing aura.

The maid shivered. She hiccuped out of fright and hastily bowed to the man, "Please forgive this insignificant one's mistake, your majesty."

The man simply eyed her. They stood like that before one of his eyebrows twitched.

"Well? I'm waiting," he spat impatiently.

The maid flinched, quickly rushed to the crib, and took Yuna out of it. She bowed one more time to the man looking down on her and hastily walked out of the room.

Following her leave, the man coldly stared down at the servants that were left and uttered the word, "Scram."

They shook in freight and rushed out of the room.
