Otherworldly Conqueror

There was a time when the world was filled with magic and spiritual energy but due to the chaos that erupted because of the war between the gods, there were ripples throughout the entire universe, these ripples were filled with dark matter and anti-magic that had affected many galaxies that were unfortunate to be in the middle of the ongoing war, the spark of spiritual energy and mana was nearly snuffed out to the point of non-existence, that was when the gods finally decided to make a truce to protect the life that inhabited the universe. This truce lasted for Millennia and the balance was slowly starting to restore, but what the gods didn't know was that some of their essence still lingered in the mortal realm and found its way toward a certain planet that was brimming with life.

"It seems to get harder as the number goes up, logically I should choose the slimes as it is my safest bet, but the passive skill is enticing as well as the 2 F-Rank Skills, but losing 5 attribute points is a waste. On the other hand, losing 2 Vitality points is worse."

"Alright, let's see then, I'll split them up into 50 pushups for every other minute as I take a break for a minute."

As William pondered, he settled on that method, he got down to the floor and started to do pushups swiftly, he did 1 pushup for every second that passed, and soon he hit the 50 mark with 10 seconds to spare for his first set.

"Wow, I barely feel tired, does strength impact that much? I could barely do this previously."

William continued with his method, he finally reached his goal with almost 2 minutes to spare.

"Damn, well it should be expected, there is no such thing as a free lunch."

Someone was approaching William, needless to say, William had no clue.

"Good job William! I'm proud of you, to think you can deck out 500 pushups in 20 minutes, you are your father's son, I was just like you when I was your age." Morgan praised enthusiastically.

William's heart skipped a beat as he was frightened to his core.

"AHHH!"

"HAHA, sorry about that. Say, do you want to learn how to wield a sword like your old man?" Morgan smiled.

"Haha, that's alright. Thanks, Dad, yes, but I much prefer to use a dagger if that is fine."

"Of course, I'll make a wooden one for you, give me a minute, I'll be back soon." Morgan was ecstatic.

{Author note, "*...*" will be used as internal monologue, essentially when someone thinks rather than speaking out loud.}

"* I wonder how come I can't sense him at all, is he hiding something?*"

As William waited for his father to return, he decided to ask the system about his spacial magic.

"System, do you know any spells that I can use"

There is a book about spacial magic that the Host can purchase from the System shop, though the shop has its own kind of currency.

The shop will be available once the Host gathers 200 Battle points.

Battle points can be gained by killing monsters and bandits, essentially, killing anything that is seen as an enemy should suffice, different species drop different amounts of Battle points.

For instance, a normal slime will drop 1 BP when it dies.

The S-Shop will sell many kinds of things, including Attribute points

"Awesome, then I should get stronger so that I can start hunting monsters."

Just as William was finished pondering he felt a hand on his shoulder, his face turned ghastly pale as his heart skipped a beat.

"Eheh, sorry William, I didn't mean to scare you." Morgan snickered

"*As if, this is the second time you did this, are you trying to send me to my grave early!?*"

"Ha ha, no worries Dad."

"Alright, let's go and train." Morgan smiled

William and Morgan went outside and stood on the lawn opposite each other.

"Alright Will, there are 2 ways to hold a dagger. Holding the dagger in a forward grip allows for more finesse and a longer reach, while a reverse grip allows for more power."

"You can choose whichever way you want to hold it, but different stances are required for different situations, for instance, if you are fighting someone stronger than you, you would most likely have to use a stance where you can easily reach your target without him being able to reach you."

"Come on, try it out."

William already knew this, but to him, this was a precious moment, this was something he never had the chance to do, he had a chance to spend time with his father, the chance to build a bond like no other.

In one swift motion, William's dagger nearly reached his target but unexpectedly, his strike was blocked.

"Ha, to think your first strike would be this good, it's rather unexpected, seems my genes did rub off on you. Good job but there are always more ways to improve, you're wide open like this, it is easy to overpower you and use your own weapon against you."

William felt something blunt strike his ribcage, sending him flying 2 meters back, he was in pain from that strike. he sprawled around the floor gasping for air as saliva dripped down his mouth, and his eyes were clenched shut.

"Will? William!" Lauren let out a yell.

She ran to William's aid, she found that 2 of his ribs were slightly fractured.

"Morgan, what do you think you are doing? He's still a child, how can you use this much force on him!" She yelled.

Morgan was in a cold sweat, it was true, he truly did not intend to use this much force, but when he saw William's strike, his instinct reared up as if the child before him was an assassin.

His strike was filled with more power due to an unconscious thought.

He quickly ran to William's side.

"I... I'm sorry, I don't know what happened, this is my fault, I have no excuses." Morgan said responsibly

"Fine then, don't let it happen again." Lauren said.

"Oh Lord, grant me your blessing, I ask that you heal those before me."

As soon as Lauren was finished, a beautiful light shone on William's side as his wounds started to heal.

"Are you okay sweetie?" she asked.

"Yes, thanks Mom, It's okay Dad, I won't make the same mistake as before, please let's continue training." William said sincerely.

"Alright, then you two should be more careful." Lauren reminded

"Of course my love, I won't be reckless as before." Morgan said.

Morgan helped William up and they soon started to train once again. Time was passing quickly as the sun was replaced by two moons, one blue and the other green.

"You know, my father used to tell me stories about the moons, he told me that the monsters we see in our world come from the Green moon, and the magic and aura we use come from the Blue moon, it is believed that the god of ruin is imprisoned on the Green moon and the Blue moon is where the goddess of rebirth resides, she is there to keep the god of ruin in check, but unfortunately her power can only keep away some of the monsters that the god of ruin sends. Thus, the goddess of rebirth granted us the power to protect ourselves from the monsters that dwell here."

"Is it really?" William asked.

"In all honesty, I don't know, but sure enough, there must be something up there, why not believe it for now until you can confirm it." Morgan smiled.

William felt his Father caress his hair.

"Alright you two, dinners ready, wash up and come in." Lauren said.

"You heard your mother, let's go clean up." Morgan smiled

The both of them got up and went to the well and washed up before going inside and sitting at the dinner table.

William and his parents talked for a while before they finished eating, and soon they went to bed.

"System, is what my father said true?"

This is something that the Host must figure out by himself, I don't have a definitive response to that.

But, I wish to congratulate the Host on increasing his agility.
