Chapter 3

A few days pass

Nothing much happened... well ... except for the fact that Vlad and Jonathan are beginning to be known as the unpopular kids in class.

Vlad is fine with it as he's already been through this once before, this time however he's much wiser than the his foolish past self who'll just stand there and take it. This time! he won't take bullying faced down, this time he'll rat them out to the teachers!

Vlad is a little frustrated at his past self for not doing this! Like if everyone already looks at him like an outcast would he still care about their opinion of him being some coward running to the teacher for help?!

Although the thought of duking it with any any potential bullies did cross his mind but... it's highly unlikely he'll win if he has multiple enemies which is highly likely to be so, instead of that crappy plan he'll let them beat him before proceeding to tell his parents and his teachers what happened to him.

In all likelihood as Vlad's an only child, naturally his parents took great care of him and would most definitely complain to the school which will eventually reach the ears of any potential bullies's parents.

In this era it's to very much acceptable to beat your children as a way of disciplining them, so in all likelihood once it reaches his potential bullies's parents they'll "discipline" their unruly kids who likes to cause trouble.

And that... will be much more severe then anything his child like hands can ever do.

'Haha you bastards I won't be bullied in this life!' Vlad thought confident in his plans.

Unfortunately for him his plan needs to be put on hold as besides little bit of could shoulders from the other kids there nothing much happening.

Moving on most of the classes are pretty much basic grade 1 stuff like Reading, Writing, Grammar, Math, History and PE.

Besides Writing, History and PE Vlad is very confident to ace the rest.

Suffice to say as someone from the 21st century his penmanship is... let's just be honest and say it's chicken scratch.

history? there's naturally he can about it as he's from Earth, what good is Earth history in this alternate world!

As for PE? He's a loner who hate going outside, of course Physical Exercise isn't his thing!

Suffice PE is a lost cause, Writing he'll be fine as long as they over look his ugly letters and history Vlad is actually a little bit interested in this world's history, overall he should graduate just fine even without putting much effort.

Saying in the future if he wants to freely use stuff from Earth then he better start working on his cover early on like... being a child genius.

Better yet! A child genius who was a drawn to gunsmiths smithing by his friend Jonathan who is the son of a gunsmith!

So that in that in the future when people asks "what's that?" Pointing to a strange looking rifle.

Vlad can reply "Oh this? It's just a new experimental rifle I've been working on recently"

But of course this would still be a few years away as first he must build a reputation of being a child prodigy.

A few weeks passes

"Did you know that that...." A girl whispers something to another girl

"Really? No way...." the second girl exclaimed

Overhearing it slightly irritated Vlad as the bullying seems to be getting worst, they're now starting to spread false rumours behind his and Jonathan's back.

His buddy Jonathan seems to have overheard the girls's whispering and seems saddened.

"Come on let's just ignore them" Vlad said, as a mentally grown man it would take more than just a few whispers to get under his skin, after all it's just a few ridiculous nonsensical rumours made by children with premature brain who could barely have a logical thought.

Anyway today's history lesson talks about the Religion of the ancient Remus Empire.

Sure enough the ancient Remus like their Roman counterparts in another world believes in a pantheon of gods, they would have a tendency to incorporating various pieces of other cultures into their which is quite similar to the Romans of Earth.

The Ancient Remus also encountered a few monotheistic religions but unlike the Romans who only found incompatibility with it, the Remus instead integrated it into their own.

How you may ask as surely polytheism and monotheism would be incompatible with each other right? One believes in many gods while the other believes in only one.

You would be right to a certain extent but you see when the ancient Remus and to a certain extent the ancient Romans they didn't incorporate other religions in their entirety, rather they just take certain aspects of it.

In this case the Ancient Remus just took the one almighty all knowing creator god that created everything and inserted their entire pantheon under him, The ancient Remus dubbed him as the almighty uncaring god that forever slumbers.

According to scriptures the almighty creator created the universe in the blink of an eye, after that due to his all knowing nature he knows everything that can possibly happen, the almighty creator eventually got bored and fell into slumber uncaring of all the pleas, cries and prayers of his followers.

Interestingly this world also has the concept of the devil although it's role is relegated to an ancient primordial entity that takes great pleasure in dark humour, tempting people and twisting people causing them to take actions that they would regret.

Anyway although the Ancient Remus religion survives to this day as the state religion, but it's mostly relegated to ceremonial purposes or cultural customs.

Rarely anyone these days would pray to the gods or offer sacrifices with the exception of a few special days such as the coronation of a new monarch or special festivals that has been celebrated since ancient times.

Besides that people don't pray to the gods 3 times a day or waste 1 hour every weekend.

Anyway to today Vlad got a general introduction to the Remus pantheon, miss Baker said that for the coming months as part of the curriculum she'll be telling ancient legends and stories about the ancient Remus religion.
