Other World's Reader

Earthly Guardian was a personal favorite for Mon. It had the perfect story in terms of his taste! A fiction filled to the brim with content, flavoring his monotonous life. Though on one special day, Fiction and reality became harder to point out.

Chapter 13: Class

" Thanks Ms. Ging! " I couldn't hold in my happiness this time around. I mean it's a phone! I'm a young teenager. This is automatically a necessity for me. Besides this is the second best source of information, other than my memories. It's a phone that can work in Terran.

It has a mana battery meaning it could run forever as long as mana is present, and it also works unlike the modern or I guess ancient technology of Earth.

If I remember correctly... the reason why modern technology didn't work is because of the appearance of mana and ki that came along with the Inters. It disrupts modern technology turning phones into useless tablets. That was why the phone was so unresponsive during that lizardman chase. It was also one of the reasons why humanity, had suffered an immense loss. Modern technology, military armaments included became useless, causing the revolutionized army of humanity to become dinner in front of the massive beasts.

Anyways, now that I have this I could finally check on something that's been entering my mind since my arrival here.

Does Earthly Guardian exist in this world? The story?

Though as I think more about it, I'm not sure if I want to figure that out really.

Why? I mean sure it'll be insanely helpful to me, as it is pretty much omniscience incarnate. But if that story is just sitting on the internet, isn't the public also capable of accessing it? If so what do I do? That would be too confusing if that happens... Why is something that holds the future of the world accessible to many?

Unknowingly to me, I've accidentally made myself incredibly nervous, to the point where I don't even want to search for it anymore.

Also... Is someone looking?

Sure, Wanderers know how to do things as they don't forget skills, only memories. If you also add the fact that all wanderers come from modern timelines, it's not suspicious for me to search the internet.

However, it's incredibly suspicious for me to search such specific keywords as Earthly Guardian as a Wanderer.

Shit who cares at this point. It'll be too confusing anyways once I found out it exists. Better to figure that out early than late.

At that instant, I hit search, without any idea what to feel.

' No results found... '

Hah...

This is definitely the first time I felt relieved about that page of the internet, but I'd honestly take it. The word Earth doesn't exist in this world anyways, so it was the only page that would relieve me from my worries.

Well, it seems like I still have one of the strongest abilities. Though I don't have the carbon copy of it, I'm sure my memory would handle it...

Quite an ironic thing to say as a Wanderer, but it's not like I'm a Wanderer anyways, I'm a transmigrator.

...

" I'm sorry Ma'am, but his highness dean isn't present as of this moment "

Hig highness? What is this the medieval era?

We finally reached the dean's office, the place where I was supposed to be but decided to go for an artifact. I think that's the main reason we weren't able to meet him as we are pretty late from the alleged time.

Though it is a little troublesome, I honestly prefer it that way.

The Dean, Griza is a world-renowned person. Being one of the few Sentinels, an S-class Guardian, his name is enough to send shivers down the spine of any Inters and also earn the respect of the people. An absolute powerhouse capable of destroying an army in mere seconds.

A very strong man. A leader and frontrunner of humanity. But he isn't someone famous for being kind... at least for the readers. A meticulous and cunning man like Griza isn't someone who would lay off public opinion.

I would personally move aside from a very greedy person like him.

He doesn't care who he's affecting. A human who kills more humans than Inters as long as he reaches his goal.

Well, that was why he became the dean. A series of violence and manipulation. That was also why Sol and Griza had their fair share of intimidations and quite scary interactions.

I think I'll let Mr. protagonist handle that.

...

Ms. Ging, seems troubled by this but she didn't seem to be mad at me any longer. Was she laying me off, because I was a Wanderer? Whatever the reason is, Ms. Ging is definitely the opposite of what she looks like. She might seem strict, but she's a very kind person.

" Mr. Mon here is a late enrollee, and well... has a very complicated background. He's been admitted already, but he still doesn't have a class. "

" Hmm... is that so? I would tell Mr. Griza the moment he arrives about this. I'm sure he'll just deliver a message to Mr. Mon when the necessary documents are checked. " The secretary tells Ms. Ging to reassure her.

" Could I take your phone number Mr. Mon? " The secretary asks me, to which I gave my phone without bothering about it. It would've been weird if I refused anyways.

...

" Alright now that that's done, I think you should change your clothes before we continue on. " Ms. Ging looks at me pitifully like she's looking at a drenched cat... Well, I do look like one so it's not like that's wrong.

We were chasing the schedule with Griza, so I didn't have the pleasure of changing clothes.

I scurried onto my room, garnering the attention of some students, but I made sure to hide my face to hide from this embarrassment.

...

" You look good in that uniform, Mon "

Fiona compliments my clothes.

I mean it did look quite insane. A white blazer with golden seams along its edges. Long black sleeves and a golden necktie made up the upper part of the clothes. The pants had the same design as the blazer making it look incredibly expensive and exquisite.

" HAHAHA, would you look at that? He ties his hair up and wears decent clothing, he becomes the star of the academy. "

" You're quite famous among the ladies huh? Mr. Mon "

...

With that taken care of we headed to the medical department, well I guess the hospital as this is Sense so that Ms. Ging could talk with them to take me in for a bit.

I was accepted pretty quickly as it was a proper request from the GRC. I was to work there for a week, and the staff and I would give their opinions if I can stay or not. There was an obvious answer to that already, as this was just a smokescreen to enter Sense in the first place.

" Well, that should be it Mr. Mon. I'll make sure to contact you if there's anything else that needs to be completed. I'm sure you are tired from all those lizard hunting and bathroom searching. " Ms. Ging giggles. It was finally time to bid farewell. They were the first people I get to see after arriving in Terran, and I couldn't ask for anyone else.

" It was fun, Ms. Ging. I'll make sure to compliment you when I meet the GRC people. " I wave farewell to the small yet great group in front of me.

...

Alright... I'm here at Sense now finally. It's the start of everything.

I was laying on my bed, with my head searching for Earthly Guardian events, settings, and pretty much all the important details I needed.

The message from Griza's secretary also arrived mentioning my class.

" Class 1B "

...

Sure enough, I wasn't able to attend 1A. The place I knew best, the place where my knowledge could thrive...

Alas, it's quite a shame. But there's no use crying over spilled milk.

Besides, I already have the artifact with me. I'm sure I'll do fine.

I mean...

Isn't it more fun to raise up a class and rival the monstrous 1A?
