Road to victory

Taking sound of explosion as the start signal, I stomped on the accelerator. ATV ran with sudden high speed making me run with 2 wheels instead of 4 wheels. All blocked zombies were sent flying or crushing. Because the sound was too loud, all nearby zombies tried to lunged on ATV. Of course, they were trying to bite me but with my high skilled driving and bonus with high speed, those trying to bite me were also sent flying.

But a very little of them was successful. For example of this small success, a small child zombie was climbing from behind me. When it's already done in balance, this small fellow jumped on me. Having predicted this action, I steered the wheel to left. Making it fall to the front, it didn't stop at that. It held tightly at my steering wheel and looked at me with lifeless eyes.

Before it tried to bite my hand, my left hand grabbed its hair. Not letting it tough me even single hair, I bashed its head repeatedly until it fell death.

"Rest in peace" I tossed the corpse.

To be honest, I am aware of this danger from the beginning but then I still accepted.

There are many reason why I do this. The main reason is resources. In future, food will become scarce and the competition between survivors will become harsh. After all, I know the thing called scare of zombie will disappear in near future. Zombie in this world isn't ominous. They are strong, killing with one bite but their weakness are also easy to discover like slow, easy to be attracted by sounds, negative thinking.

Human scares unknown things, but when they know, thing will become different.

At first day, I also scared those zombies but after closer observation, those fear were eliminated in a second. This was contributed by the fact that I trained in past. Standing before predicament, I quickly subdued my fear and covered my calm. After killing some zombies, I also know that they are not scared than what I expected. They are strong but their move are so predictable. I can see this due to years of playing games.

Anyway, back to present, why I easily killed zombie child while child is a image that make people hesitate to kill. One fact is different in structure, I'm adult while it's still a child. And another fact is that, I never considered that thing as a child. I see it as a dead person. Maybe I see it as a dead person, I have no problem with killing it or having trauma after this.

Now zombies were making it way to me. I easily dodged all their attack. I rode ATV in various shape. Sometimes I drove with S shape, sometimes with V shape. I read those movement like reading book. I have responsible that need to be done so I shouldn't show my hesitate.

From Takagi's estate to my secret base at least 15 minutes with ATV. I thought this was easy. Until I went into expressway. Those zombie flood into this city like tsunami which is very horrible for me. I can only slip through the gap to arrive my destination. I must move quickly.

The sound of engine already attracted them. Now they changed direction to me. I ran over some zombies but the situation didn't change slightly so I decide to go different way.

With that, I turned left. Entering alley, I found that a very few zombie was here. Thank to those zombie blocking my original way, now I spent more 10 minutes to arrive my destination.

I drove through alley for roughly 25 minutes straight. Now I can see the run down factory from afar.

Having seen zombies blocking my way, I had no choice but to crash ATV along with them. As a result, I had to run for the rest. By the way, some zombies was attracted by me along the way.

Since I arrived this, it's already my victory. I hastily checked the laptop. The screen showed [ready to initiate]. Yeah, my laptop's still alive.

My happiness came back to my face. Now the rest is installing Arc reactor, Reactive circuits and nano-shield must be skipped for now. Because this part was very complicated.

"Yeah my victory is in my palm" I said cheerfully. And then I frowned when remembering something important.

"I screwed myself"

I forgot to charge energy for Arc reaction.

"Calm down, Jean. You need to charge it now" I looked at power socket.

"Oh wait, I remember that this city also lose electricity" my happiness disappeared from my face.

"What to do … What to do" while I was mumbling, something came up in my mind.

"If I'm not wrong, this factory have generator" my cheerful came back online.

"And to take that, I need to go to warehouse" I looked at the crowd of zombies besieging factory.

"Ok, this will be hard."

For now, I had no idea to do at the moment. Just looking at zombies, the thought of fighting was quickly dissipated.

I came up with many ingenious plan but most of it can't apply.

"haiz, I don't want to be a promise breaker" I plopped down on wooden chair.

Having no idea how to escape this place unscathed, I started to look randomly.

My eyes was wandering at junk parts that I collected. I picked up the old doll from it.

Feeling no better idea, I pulled the string behind the doll.

"Hello, my name is daisy" it's a childish tone

"Tell me what I need to do" I asked a silly question.

"I want to hug you"

Of course, there will be no real answer from the doll.

"I wish you were magical doll." suddenly, I flinched.

"You are really magical doll" I pulled the string again.

"I want to hug you" it repeated the previous line.

Then I get started crafting. The thing I am going to craft is distracting toys. I will apply it with big speaker with big volume to 6 toys. And then throwing it to disperse zombies.

"I'm so good at this" but no one praised me.

After 5 minutes.

"Done" crafting distracting toys is very easy for me since it already have what it need.

"Let's get started" I opened the window.

Aiming the position that I want, I threw it with all my mind.

The first one landed on nearby house.

"aim to the sky and fly to the universe" a toy rang out.

With that, a quarter zombies were dispersed.

"Yes, yes. Just wasting your time to the toy."

Seeing a good result, I started to throw it surround the factory. Only leaving the way to warehouse. In just a minute, the road was appeared in front of my eyes.

"I'm being sneaky" I silently walked to the warehouse.

Finding generator wasn't that hard since the moment I opened the door, I saw it stand before me.

"Never see you as beautiful as this moment" the generator was twinkling from my POV.

With high school girl student's strength, I poured the fuel and dragged it into factory simultaneously.

While I was silently closing the door, zombie's head was inserted. This jumpscare surprised me a lot. Seeing the unexpected situation, I quickly slammed the door but the door was blocked by zombie's head.

"Come on" I repeatedly slammed the door.

"A little bit" I changed to push the iron door until the zombie's head was cut from body.

"Phew. That was very close" not letting me time to sigh. A group of zombie battered the door.

"Oh. Want to revenge your friend." I pointed at zombie's head.

"Don't worry. He is in the better place. The place for corpse like him and soon you all will go with him" I shouted.

"Okay let's do this sh*t" I connected generator to factory. The moment I switched on the button. The engine roared, the gear moved, the light turned on.

"Let's end your grief"

I looked at armor charged with generator. I opened the armor and started installing circuit and arc core.
