Oscuro Online

Lucio was 17 years old when he found out that he was not alone and he still had a family. He soon obtained the [ADMINISTRATOR SYSTEM] and was given the power to bridge the two worlds, a world of science and a world of mysticism, Earth and Oscuro. Introducing Oscuro to the people of earth as a VRMMO, he successfully accomplishes his first task. Will Lucio stand at the top of both worlds or will he succumb to his greed? Only time would tell. **** Lucio looked at the Princess in front of him and said "I'm a greedy man, princess. Hiring a genius requires more than just.... simple gold." The princess left his place in anger, only to lose the throne to her brother. Alas she realized her mistake too late, as it wasn't her brother who defeated her, it was Lucio, a commoner whom she thought was an ant. **** The god sat on his throne looking down at the boy who he had given the system to, "You are such an unpredictable boy...... so now you dare to go against my authority? You are just my puny little slave , HAHAHAHAHA" The orbs of fate spun as per his command. "Let me see how you deal with this." said the demon who called himself a god, with a smile that reached his eyes.

Lucio was about to see more but Han called him to attend the feast. Lucio was excited to try out the new features but supressed his urges and followed Han towards the huge fire that was burning in the middle of the village.

Lucio walked out of the house with Han towards the huge fire that was at the centre of the village. People lined up as they got their bowls filled with food. Lucio could "smell" the meat.

Han handed him a carved wooden bowl and stood in the line. Soon, it was Lucio's turn to get the food and he looked at the things that were inside the huge bamboo basket and Copper vessel.

Large loafs of bread filled the bamboo basket and a thick vegetable soup was present in the copper vessel. He took his share and followed Han while looking at the other people who were eating.

Some dipped their bread in the soup and some ate their bread and drank the soup. Lucio was relieved as he saw that "No weird rules to eat food… that's nice."

Lucio never liked the concept of etiquette as he was too lazy to remember the rules, but he remembered them anyways. He took a large bite of the bread which was dry and had a bit of sweetness to it. He happily savored the taste in his mouth and continued eating and drinking.

The food was great and he felt full after eating just half a loaf that was given to him. The soup was weirdly spicy and somehow made him want to drink it more, so he went over for the soup three more times. He didn't stop until his stomach was bloated.

Many people were dancing and singing while some gossiped. Children were busy playing some of their weird games or fast asleep with their backs against the walls of various huts.

Lucio too, felt sleepy after eating so much and looked for uncle Han who had gone over to talk to his hunter friends. "Uncle Han, I'm tired so I'll go and sleep."

Han looked at Lucio and said "Alright, come with me."

They entered the living room and Han pulled out a thick woollen carpet from the store room and placed it on the floor. He then went back , only to come out with a pillow and a thin blanket which was crudely made with cotton.

"You can sleep while I enjoy." Han said as he walked out and locked the door.

Lucio fell asleep in seconds. The concept of sleeping inside a room made him lower his guard and that was the trigger which made his body go "Fu*k this guy, I need sleep."

***

Lucio woke up, full of energy as he surveyed the room. The fire in the fireplace had died out but the embers still remained. Lucio stretched and took the leather pouch that was beside his pillow.

It was filled with two silver coins and a lot of bronze coins. Since he had nothing to do, he began counting. "Forty bronze and two silver….That's a good amount to start with."

After a while, Han woke up and walked out the house with Lucio following behind him like a lost puppy. "Stop following me, Samael. It feels weird to have someone always walking right behind you like a shadow."

"Hahaha… Sorry about that, uncle. I just wanted to ask how to reach the empire of Axyte."

"....You are in the Empire of Axyte. This village is a part of the massive empire."

"No, I mean the capital city." Lucio said as he looked at Han.

"The holy city of Axyte huh…. It's better not to go there for at least a couple of years." Han said with a conflicted expression. "It's time for the new generation to wear the Emperor's crown."

"Hmm…. So a war might ensue or there will be dealings behind the backs of the citizens of the empire." Lucio said as he thought hard. He didn't like wars a lot but something inside him wanted to be at the centre of all the chaos. "So, where do you think is a good place to settle down for about six months or 2 years or anytime in between"

Han pondered for a while before answering "Silver moon Town has good trades and many travelling merchants pass through the town towards the holy city of Axyte and Greenwoods town has the best mercenary and hunter groups."

"So… if I want to earn money through trading, Silver moon is a good place but if I wanted to make some money by hunting and doing other jobs like escorting or something alike, Greenwoods is a better choice?" Lucio asked

"In short, yes. But there are some risks that come along with it. Silver Moon has a long history of merchants getting scammed or robbed and being a mercenary or hunter increases your chances of death if you aren't careful."

Lucio pondered for a while before making a decision "How far apart are the two cities?"

Han splashed his face with water a few times and replied "Well…. Silver Moon is a town which is connected to about twenty or more villages and it's the only town that provides people a safe route to the holy city of Axyte."

".... I asked how far apart the two cities are, not the advantages of Silver Moon." Lucio said with a frown.

"Hahaha, yes. Well, from our village to silver moon, it takes about two days with a mule and from Silver moon to Greenwoods, about five days."

"Okay, thanks a lot. I'll leave to Silver moon right away. I'll have to thank you for giving me a place to sleep." Lucio said, expressing his gratitude.

"You want to trade for a living? Young merchants are mostly scammed, robbed or murdered for money." Han said as he sighed.

"No, I'll move to Greenwoods right after. I prefer being a mercenary or hunter and not think of money all the time. Being a merchant gives me unnecessary stress and I get no excitement out of it."

Han chuckled and said "Ah, the youth…. Excitement ay? But you should have enough skill if you want to be a successful hunter or a mercenary. If you don't, your body would either be brought back to the city or consumed by the wild animals and monsters that live in the woods."

"I believe I have enough skill." Lucio said seriously, trying to sound as confident as possible.
