A few days ago, Cyno received a message from Tighnari stating that Collei is illness had been cured.
The person who helped Collei was named Ye Xi, who now needed Cyno is assistance and requested that he maintain correspondence with him.
Over the past few days, Cyno had been using pigeons to communicate with Ye Xi and had learned about the [God-Making Plan] devised by the great sages.
When he read the details in Ye Xi's letter, he was utterly shocked.
Cyno had suspected that the great sages were conducting secretive and dubious activities, but he hadn't expected them to be this insane.
What shocked him even more was learning that the Void Terminal was recording his actions and predicting his movements.
As soon as he saw this information, he fled to the desert to avoid being tracked by the great sage Azar.
This afternoon, Cyno received a letter from Ye Xi while in exile in the desert.
The message contained only one sentence:
> [Sumeru is in danger. Return quickly.]
> [At midnight, meet at the gate of the Teaching Order Academy and wait for the conclusion.]
After receiving this urgent message, Cyno immediately rushed back from the desert.
Upon arriving in Sumeru City, he noticed how eerily quiet the place was.
No patrols could be seen, and even the disciplinary officers were all asleep!
He quickly realized that Azar and his accomplices had activated the [Dream Mass Production Plan].
Following Ye Xi's instructions, he went to the gate of the Holy Order Academy, where he encountered Candice and Dehya.
Upon hearing Candice's explanation of their mission, Cyno immediately agreed to assist.
At that moment, the Teaching Academy was cloaked in darkness.
The entire building was deserted and eerily silent.
Dehya spoke as she moved toward the inner chambers:
"The Master said that among the six sages of Sumeru, two opposed the [God-Making Plan] and were imprisoned by Azar and his allies.
"Their location should be at the bottom of the Palace of Wisdom.
"Our mission is to head there, use the mechanisms inside to free the two sages, and then escape the Academy!"
Candice and Cyno followed Dehya closely.
"It must be the sages from the School of Biogenesis and the School of Causes," Cyno guessed. "They've been out of public view for a long time."
Cyno recalled that Tighnari had previously tasked him with investigating Nafis, the sage of the Biogenesis School, but his inquiries had led nowhere.
Hearing Cyno is guess, Dehya waved her hand dismissively.
"I don't know much about the factions of your Holy Order, but our priority is to find these people. Candice and I will cover your retreat!"
"Understood!"
The three of them quickly entered the innermost part of the Palace of Wisdom.
Just as they approached the elevator, Candice shouted, "Watch out!"
Before the warning was fully spoken, she leaped in front of Dehya, raising her shield just in time.
The next moment, a powerful slash collided with the shield.
*Clang!*
The force of the blow pushed Candice back several steps.
"Who's there?! Attacking us out of nowhere!" Dehya exclaimed, startled.
Looking toward the moonlit figure, Cyno muttered, "The Scribe?"
The attacker was none other than Alhaitham, the Scribe of the Holy Order.
Alhaitham's gaze lingered on Cyno, and he frowned. "Who are you, and why are you trespassing in the Teaching Academy?"
"Why have so many scholars fallen unconscious tonight? Is this your doing?"
Cyno snorted and crossed his arms. "You're still awake? Are you another lapdog of the great sage? Seems like you're asking to become my prey."
Although they both worked within the Holy Order, Alhaitham clearly didn't recognize Cyno as the chief disciplinary officer.
Cyno took offense at the lack of acknowledgment and felt deeply insulted.
Moreover, the fact that Alhaitham wasn't affected by the Void Terminal's effects suggested a connection to the great sage, further fueling Cyno is irritation.
The two men locked eyes, and tension crackled like static electricity in the air.
Dehya frowned, clenching her fists. "Stop fighting, you two!"
Candice quickly intervened. "Everyone, calm down. We're on the same side!"
She pulled out a letter and held it up.
"Scribe Alhaitham, this is a letter from Master Ye Xi. He predicted that we'd meet you here in the Holy Order."
Alhaitham, who had initially planned to take control of the situation, froze when he saw the bold title on the note: *[Canned Knowledge of the Gods]*.
Under the moonlight, he carefully read the letter's contents.
"I see… it all makes sense now."
"No wonder the scholars have fallen unconscious, even collapsing in labs and corridors.
"It's due to the Void Terminal."
He explained, "My Void Terminal has been modified, so I'm unaffected."
The letter detailed how the "God-Making Plan" revolved around the use of divine knowledge capsules.
Recently, Alhaitham had been ordered by Azar to investigate the knowledge capsules brought by a blonde traveler and divine sources from Port Ormos.
He had found the assignment suspicious but couldn't pinpoint why until now.
The letter answered all of his lingering questions.
"Can we proceed to rescue the two sages now?" Dehya asked.
Alhaitham nodded and stepped aside, allowing Dehya to lead the way to the elevator.
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the entrance of the Teaching Academy.
Glancing in that direction, they saw silhouettes darting through the distance.
"Quickly, save the sages. I'll handle the intruders," Alhaitham said.
Without hesitation, he moved toward the incoming Fatui agents.
Dehya, Candice, and Cyno descended into the underground levels.
"I'm familiar with this area. Follow me!" Cyno instructed.
Thanks to his guidance, they soon located a confinement room.
Standing outside the door, Cyno called out: "Master Nafis, are you in there?"
A faint voice responded from within: "Who's there?!"
"It's Cyno! Stand back from the door. I'm here to rescue you!"
"Great Disciplinary Officer!? You're finally here!"
A cry of joy came from inside the room.
Cyno kicked the door open, revealing five or six people inside. They looked disheveled and weary, as if they had been imprisoned for a long time.
Seeing Cyno was like seeing salvation; relief washed over their faces, and one of them almost burst into tears.
Nafis, the sage of Biotheory of Life, hurried forward and exclaimed, "Cyno, Azar and his followers are carrying out a plan! It's extremely dangerous! We need your help!"
"We already know the situation. These two are here to help. For now, let's focus on leaving the Holy Order first!"
"Yes… understood!"
Nafis hadn't expected Cyno to already know about the [God-Creating Project]. He quickly held back any further explanation and turned to urge the scholars behind him to follow Cyno.
The group used the mechanism to return upstairs.
At that moment, the sound of fierce fighting echoed through the halls.
"Brothers, charge!"
"Anyone who's still awake must be erased!"
Hearing this, the Fools' advance team raised their weapons and rushed toward Elheisen.
Some of them carried muskets, making the situation far more dangerous.
"Candice, protect the sages!" Cyno commanded.
Without hesitation, Dehya leapt forward to engage the enemy.
Candice, the guardian of Aru Village, was accustomed to escorting caravans through the desert and defending them from danger. Combined with her proficiency with shield techniques, she was perfectly suited to safeguard the sages.
Even so, Candice couldn't help but worry about Dehya. The enemy had muskets, and while her shield could block bullets, the risk of being hit was very real.
"Dehya, be careful!" Candice shouted.
Dehya responded with a confident grin. "I'll be fine. I'm helping too!"
Meanwhile, Cyno donned his mask. A surge of tyrannical purple lightning crackled around him, releasing a terrifying aura. Like a ferocious beast, he charged into the enemy ranks.
In the blink of an eye, several members of the Fools' advance team were thrown into the air, struck by Cyno is overwhelming power.
"Ah!"
"What the?! I've been electrocuted!"
"Whose dog is this?!"
The Fools writhed on the ground in pain, but their reinforcements arrived quickly.
Dozens of additional enemies poured in through the entrance of the Holy Order, turning the tide of the battle against Cyno is group.
"Escort the sages out through the side door first. I'll handle things here!" Cyno ordered.
Elheisen activated the prisms floating behind him, which emitted green laser beams that instantly eliminated two of the debt collectors.
Refusing to back down, Cyno struck down a musket-wielding enemy with a precise spear thrust.
"You all leave now! I'll take care of the rest!" he shouted.
Elheisen frowned, his voice sharp as he retorted, "Move quickly, or none of us will make it out!"
Before Elheisen could finish speaking, a deep, heavy breathing sound echoed through the room, freezing everyone in place.
[Inch Strength to Open the Sky]
Dehya raised her gauntlet, took a deep breath using the Xianjia breathing technique Ye Xi had taught her, and punched toward the door.
A powerful gust of wind swept through, turning Alheisen's hair into a bird's nest and nearly knocking Cyno is mask off.
In front of Dehya, dozens of enemies were flung backward as if struck by an air cannon.
"Ahhh!"
The Fatui soldiers in the front row were torn to pieces by the immense force, their bodies reduced to blood and mist, scattering across the battlefield.
Death came so swiftly that there was no time for pain or realization. Severed limbs fell like petals on those behind them.
Blood and flesh splattered everywhere, leaving the mid-row soldiers drenched and broken. Those still alive let out hysterical screams as they stared in horror at the carnage.
"What's happening?! Ahhh!"
"She's a monster! That woman is a monster!"
"What kind of attack is this?!"
The rear ranks weren't spared either. Several soldiers were hurled more than ten meters by the sheer force of the blast. They tumbled off the winding path and plummeted dozens of meters down, landing on the roots of the giant Sumeru tree, dying instantly.
The terrifying display stunned the Fatui patrols below, who could only scream in panic.
*And all this happened with just one punch.*
Alheisen and Cyno froze in place, their expressions blank as they slowly turned to stare at Dehya like malfunctioning machines.
"The path is clear let's move!" Dehya called out.
"Huh? Why are you all standing there in a daze?"
"Candice? Come on, let's go!"
Dehya is tone was puzzled, oblivious to the fact that her punch had terrified everyone present.
Behind her, the two sages and the scholars trembled, some almost wetting themselves in fear.
"Dehya, you…"
"Forget it, let's just go!" Candice interrupted, pushing the terrified scholars ahead and hurrying them toward the exit.
Elheisen and Cyno exchanged looks, their faces pale as they processed what they had just witnessed.
The thought lingered: If we had fought her earlier in the Wisdom Palace, there wouldn't have even been enough of us left to bury.
"Hey! You two! Move it!" Dehya is voice snapped them back to reality.
Alheisen frowned, muttering under his breath as he followed.
"Say, Dehya…" Cyno began cautiously. "You… you're not that mysterious Mora mercenary, are you?"
Dehya looked at him, her face full of question marks. "Huh?"

*Meanwhile, in the residential area of Sumeru City, Fatui soldiers were conducting house-to-house searches.*
Their orders were clear: find Ye Xi's woman and capture her alive.
One group entered a residence, glanced at the sleeping occupants, and left.
"Not here!"
"Move to the next one!"
They soon approached a grand courtyard surrounded by high walls.
"Wait," said one soldier, eyeing the place. "This is Humayi's estate. I heard the owner is filthy rich."
"Really? Do you think we should even bother checking? Rich folks wouldn't hide someone like that here."
"Should we just skip it, then?"
Before they could decide, an Ice Warlock frowned, her instincts tingling. "The intel I gathered said Humayi's daughter is Khaenrin is concubine."
"What?!"
"Then she might actually be here!"
"Let's go! Check it out!"
The group climbed the walls and entered the courtyard.
As the Ice Warlock scaled the wall, she felt a sudden chill, like she was being watched. She turned to look at the dark bushes beyond the yard but saw nothing.
"Was that just my imagination?"
Inside, one of the soldiers peered through a window, noticing the bedcovers were slightly raised.
"Looks like they're sleeping. Nothing unusual here."
"Doesn't seem like the place."
Another soldier chimed in. "Why don't we just kidnap Humayi's family to get some leverage?"
"Pointless," a senior soldier replied. "Khaenrin only cares about women. Their families are irrelevant."
As they debated, a voice suddenly called out.
"Hey! Come look at this! There's light coming from under the floor in that room!"
They gathered at the window, peering inside.
In the dark room, faint light seeped through the gaps in the wooden floorboards, as though something bright was hidden beneath.
"Could someone be hiding down there?"
"Let's go in and check!"
A few people were about to open the door and step inside.
Suddenly, one of the guerrillas at the front froze.
He felt an eerie coolness on his neck.
The sensation was strange, indescribable.
Looking down, he saw a thin layer of running water flowing along his neck.
What made it even stranger was the way the water moved like waves, one after another.
He instinctively reached out to touch it and was horrified to realize that the waves were emanating from his neck itself!
Fear gripped him.
He tried to reach out to his companion, intending to say something, but his mouth refused to cooperate he couldn't make a sound.
"Mm"
"Hey, what's wrong with you? Why are you just standing there? Go inside!"
The people behind him urged impatiently.
Suddenly, a human head rolled down and landed in someone's arms.
Instinctively, the person caught it, only to realize they were holding the head of the companion who had just been standing in front of them!
The lifeless eyes of the severed head were wide open, frozen in the unspeakable terror of its final moments.
Everyone froze, their eyes wide with shock.
The companion they had just been talking to his head had fallen off!
Before anyone could scream, they realized something horrifying: none of them could make a sound!
The Ice Warlock perched on the wall looked down with a confused expression.
She noticed that her companions had suddenly gone silent, standing motionless in place.
"What are they doing?" she murmured to herself.
But before she could finish her thought, she heard breathing right by her ear.
Her body stiffened as her hair stood on end.
Moments later, the Ice Warlock fell from the wall, lifeless.
Jeht exhaled deeply. It was the breathing technique of the Xianjia, taught to her by Ye Xi.
*[Fourth Form of Water Breathing: Rising Tide Strike!]*
*[Fifth Form of Water Breathing: Gentle Rain in a Dry Sky!]*
These were the sword techniques she had just used.
Her twin blades had silently swept across their necks, embodying the gentle touch of the Gentle Rain in a Dry Sky.
The rising tide strike, like a relentless tidal wave, had severed their vocal cords without a sound.
By all rights, their deaths could have been far more violent, far less kind.
But Jeht had chosen this method to avoid making noise and drawing the attention of more Fatui soldiers.
It was the most efficient way to eliminate them.
The higher-level techniques in her swordsmanship were rewards she had earned by diligently pleasing Ye Xi over the past few days.
They were remarkably effective.
After dispatching the Fatui soldiers who had invaded Humayi's estate, Jeht cast a worried glance toward the top of the giant tree.
That was where Jingshan Palace stood
The very place where Ye Xi had gone alone.
