Splitting Up

Although the team had maintained their compact formation, up till now, the cave had still afforded them enough space to branch out and walk side by side in a row if need be.

However, slowly but surely, the walls were now closing in on them.

The narrowing cave was not the only change happening as they moved forward. Dark green vines began to appear, creeping along the cave walls like little serpents.

At first, the vines were a mild occurrence, however, as the team journeyed forward, they began to grow more populous, longer, and thicker.

"Watch your step," Caleb warned everyone.

The vines were now everywhere; on the walls, on the path, and even on the ceiling. If they were not careful, they risked getting tripped and injuring themselves, or worse.

When Chris heard Caleb's warning, he made sure to pay extra attention to where he stepped. It was only an extra precaution, for everybody knew, no harm befell those at the back.
