Assault on the Goblin Village III

'Come on bud, how long you gonna sleep in there?' Roy was currently sitting on the floor, surrounded by dilapidated walls.

It had been nearly thirty minutes since Inbellis had begun its evolution, and about twenty since they entered the town.

'I hope the girls are doing alright. They should be fine, since I haven't heard anything, but I still worry.'

Time continued to tick by, and as Roy was twiddling his thumbs, the pleasant sound of muffled cracking leaked out of his backpack.

"Yes!" Roy whisper-screamed as he pumped his fists. Finally, coming out of the backpack was the new and improved Inbellis!

"Wow, you really grew, huh?" Roy whispered under his breath, as he looked at the magnificence of his pet.

Inbellis was now the size of Roy's fist. Its blue shell was now a shade lighter, gaining a beautiful shine. The tiny legs it once had, looked to have gained quite a bit of bulk as well.

"Seems you can't fit in my belly button anymore." Roy chuckled, as he checked its stats.

'None of us will be able to evolve without reaching tier two, but we should hopefully be able to reach the level cap by the end of this raid!' Roy happily stared at the stats for his pet.

'We have all come a long way in such a short amount of time...' Pulling himself out of nostalgia, Roy stood up, with Inbellis on his shoulder plate. Heading out of the house and going to meet up with the girls.

Roy didn't only make furniture during his training period over the past week. He had made a full set of removable armor. Keeping the original functionality, while modifying the lattice design, was a big challenge. But after much trial and error, Roy had successfully managed to include a lattice structure under all his vital spots, without making them too bulky or fragile.

He planned to make the girls their own sets of armor, but Solus requested a hide armor, so she could keep as much speed as possible, while Terren requested armor that would make her stronger.

'I have no idea how I would even start working on an exo suit... but it does sound like a fun project. Plus I could include the successful parts into my own armor...' As Roy was walking down the street, he was checking each house, making sure that there were no living gobs left.

'Seems they were pretty thorough.' Roy had checked around five houses so far, and every goblin had been cleanly decapitated.

Approaching the next house, Roy heard the pattering of feet. Quietly entering the abode, Roy noticed a glint in the corner of his eye, and lifted his arm.

*Ting*

Roy's gauntlet deflected the blow, as the figure that attacked him immediately pulled its claws back.

"Roy? ...and... Inbellis?" Solus quietly spoke, as the moonlight glistened off of them, she had managed to notice who it was.

"Sorry, I thought you were a goblin..." Solus apologetically said, making sure Roy was okay.

"It's all good. I'm glad your reaction was so quick actually, made me feel relieved." Roy complimented Solus, as he slowly healed the scratch mark on his gauntlet.

"Wow... Inbellis sure did grow, huh?" Terren walked up and whispered, shocked.

"I know right? I'm honestly extremely happy with it. He can probably take on a tier zero goblin's attacks with his defensive stats now." Roy rubbed the top of Inbellis' head while he warmly spoke to it.

...

After a short rest, the group began clearing the remaining houses on the outskirts of the village.

Majority of the goblins were sleeping in the village hall, huddled together. It was mainly the workers and guards that were sleeping in the houses right now.

Sleeping in the only room of the village hall, was the drunk goblin shaman, Tiklan.

*Snore*

"No... ion wanna... thaz mah..." Mumbling in his sleep, Tiklan still clutched onto his bottle. It was like a precious artifact of a bygone era to him. Holding it close so that no other could have it.

*Knock knock*

"Who! Whazzat! Whadoyawant!" Tiklan slurred his words, angered that someone had dared to awaken him.

"Sir, the night guards never checked in. What should we do?" The goblin on the other side of the door was sweating profusely. He had heard of the horrifying curses that Tiklan could cast on people, and wanted to avoid being on the receiving end. Sadly, he had lost the little game his buddies and him played, making him the sacrificial lamb.

"Iz zat all~ Just go cheyck on dem~" Tiklan began drifting back to sleep after giving his orders. The goblin that reported, sighed in relief and began to make his way back to convey the message.

"Whoa, you actually came back in one piece, huh?" One of his friends joked with him, as he nudged his arm.

"Don't joke around, that was horrifying! Just send someone to check on the guards. That's all he said before passing out again."

"Alright. Go ahead and sleep, I'm sure that stressed you out a lot!" The goblin chuckled at his friend's anxiety, as he walked off to gather some gobs.

...

"Oh, shit! Go make a report, all the active guards are dead! Wake up the guards in the houses nearby! Inform them to search the village for intruders!" The lead goblin screamed his orders as his subordinates ran off to complete their tasks as well.

Unfortunately, moments later even more bad news came.

"S-sir, the goblins in the houses are all dead as well. It's a mess in there, every single one of them were decapitated." A small goblin made his report, slightly shaken up, yet thankful that he wasn't sleeping in the houses tonight.

"Fuck... Alright, send someone to try and wake up Tiklan, even if he's drunk, he's still the leader here." The goblin giving the orders, looked up to the sky, before giving a sigh.

"Seems I won't be sleeping tonight."

Sorry for the late chapter guys, had a bunch of homework.
