Operation: Make Him Fall For Me!

Excerpt: "Chance, let my wrist go, or else, I will kick you right into your balls!" She threatened but he didn't listen.  Rather,  he pulled her closer to his touch and ambled out of the building. She kept shoving his grip around her wrist apparently, he didn't have a plan to let it go.  "Let me go Chance!" She protested.  He loosened the grip, stopping their track. He started right to her fiery, glared eyes before he implores seriously,  "why are you averting me? Why did you accept my mother's offer?!"  "Why do you care? I can date whatever I want!" "Christian doesn't like you! He likes Mia so don't be so desperate for his attention! He will never like you!"  Her eyes widened while stroking her wrist and to eased the pain. He bites his lips, realizing his statement. He strolled closer to her, feel the pang of guilt inside his chest when her tears rushed through her cheeks.  However, she was taken aback, and hastily, she wiped all her tears...  "You don't need to rub the reality onto my face, Chance… In the first place, I know Christian didn't like me and will never be. Yet, you rejected your mother's offer." She uttered softly but her eyes kept telling her despair and anger.  "Aly… I—" "Yes, I liked Christian but… It's in the past. You have your chance to win my heart but you lose it. Now deal with it." She sternly said and left him behind... Melancholy.  She fell in love with a guy who protected her from the bad guys when they were little and she made a promise to herself that she would follow him wherever he went. She was very happy when seeing him and they became friends in school.  However, the guy didn't even notice her feelings for him and instead, he loved someone else before he left without any track. She tried to ask his two older brothers but he can't say it since it became covert and even his friends didn't know where he went. He left her with her heart broken and lived in despair. She just wanted him to love her.  Her name was Alyssum Bryne and she fell in love with her best friend, Chance Bailey.  Will they have a happy ending?  Or… Will their path cross when fate gives them a chance to meet?  The photo is not mine. It was taken on Pinterest, if someone wanted to take it down, you can DM me in discord. Thank you.

I Might Fall Completely

"Why are you lying on the mat?" A familiar voice asked yet she chose to ignore it.

Alyssum's eyes remained closed and her right arm covering it. She just sighed and shook her head. Then, she sat and glanced at the man, who was smiling at her. She felt uneasy when that smile had meaning.

"Don't smile at me like that, Caine. I know what you're thinking."

He chuckled and sat beside me. Then, he gave me some wine which she never tasted. She was taken aback and rejected his offer.

"You're 16 so it's fine." He said.

Her eyes rolled when he mumbled her age incorrectly. "I'm only 15, Caine."

"I5 or 16, it's still the same. You are a teenager and will be curious about the taste of wine."

"I'm not interested, Caine. Thank you very much," said Alyssum.

"You're missing out."

She shook her head, and couldn't believe what he was saying. Sometimes, it gave her a hard time understanding Chance's brothers. They were very different in all aspects and Caine was the hardest to comprehend.

"Sometimes, I keep asking myself, why do you like Chance?"

She smiled at him.

Her feelings with Chance weren't a secret between her and his brothers. They knew that she liked him from the very beginning and they kept trying to push him close to her.

"Because he's Chance… No other reason."

"That's fair and he's a great kid and smart but he's too… boring and very serious. If I'm a girl, I can't date someone like Chance."

Alyssum laughed at him for being so honest, especially to Chance, and knew him very much. That's why Caine loves his little brother so much and he loves disturbing him all the time.

"He's not really boring… Sometimes since he's too serious but most of the time, he knows how to have fun especially when he's with me."

"Well, it's because he likes you."

She shook her head as an answer and didn't believe that Chance had feelings for her. It'll never happen since they were great friends.

Only friends…

"He likes me as his best friend. Nothing more, nothing less…"

"How do you know about that?"

"I felt it… you know, there's some guts inside the girls, feeling that someone didn't like you or vice versa. And that gut feeling is sometimes correct."

"So you are saying that because your gut feelings tell you that he didn't like you. Am I right?"

"Yes! You are getting my point. Thank you very much." She uttered happily.

Caine just shook his head, didn't believe what she was saying since it was outrageous. For him, it was overthinking knowing that her girlfriend overthink what he was doing and it caused damage to their relationship. Occasionally, he couldn't stop himself from getting mad at her which results in a huge fight.

"Actually, I didn't get your point."

Alyssum's brow furrowed from Caine's answer. She couldn't understand why he didn't get her point, knowing that he had a girlfriend.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, that gut feeling was just overthinking. They became paranoid and overthink what other guys said."

"I don't get it."

He sighed and scratched his head from frustration yet he needed to explain it to her, maybe… Just maybe, she will understand his point of view.

"For example, I have a girlfriend who believed in her gut feelings about me. She always thought that I had an affair just because I replied to her coldly… But in reality, I was just tired and I don't have the energy to deal with that."

"What happened next?"

"She didn't believe me. She believed her gut feelings. Aly, I don't have an affair. I'm just tired from all the work that my mother gave me. All I wanted was her comfort, yet she got mad at me for replying to her coldly."

"That's why you weren't in a mood a while ago?"

"Yes… She was very mad at me for ignoring her which I'm not. I told her that I'm having dinner with Bryne's family yet she didn't believe me."

He sighed and grabbed his wine and drank it in one shot. Alyssum saw his distress while talking about her recent relationship. She wasn't fooled to understand him so she remained silent.

Maybe he was right…

Maybe her gut feeling was just an overthink since she didn't ask Chance about his feelings. However, she was appalled that if she asked him, it'll change their relationship.

She couldn't let that happen!

"If you want to confirm it with Chance. Do ask him and not just based on your gut feelings. Sometimes, you need to be brave to ask for your own sake." He uttered.

She glanced at him, who was smiling at her, and suddenly, he ruffled her hair to cheer her up.

"Don't be sad, little one. He will like you someday."

Then, he stood and offered a hand. Her head cocked to the side, confused. He just chuckled and said,

"We need to get back inside. Our parents are expecting us to have some dinner with them."

She responded with a nod and accepted his offer. She clasped her right hand against his and slowly stood. And all of a sudden, Christian and Chance got back on time.

"Sorry, we just arrived." Chance said.

"It's fine, my little brother. Aly and I had a great conversation. Right, Aly?" asked Caine.

"Of course. Anyway, we need to get back inside before our parents get mad at us for being late." She uttered.

Chance, on the other hand, glanced at Alyssum, who was busy placing their snacks inside the basket. His brow raised when hearing that Caine and Alyssum were having a great conversation so he walked towards her to help her.

"Mind me helping you?" inquired Chance.

Alyssum glimpsed at him and responded with a nod and smile. They began to pack their snacks inside the basket as Christian took care of the mat.

Thereafter, they walked inside the mansion as Chance clutched her wrist, stopping her track. In surprise, Alyssum felt her blood rushed through her cheeks and formed into a blush. Her eyes gaze at him, who was very staring at her, deeply straight to her eyes.

Her heart thumped rapidly and couldn't stop his tension inside her chest.

'Don't stare at me like that or else, I might fall completely."
