Society

Once they entered the dungeon, Terry had a hard time fighting using the gloves alone, so he was forced to count on Rebecca's support. Fortunately, the monsters granted a lot of experience, so the gloves quickly got stronger. As if it wasn't enough, when Terry tried to stop the kick of one of the enemies with his punch, he didn't feel that much pain.

Once the gloves reached level five, Terry didn't have to change to his spear now and then, and he was able to completely stop the enemies' attacks by punching them. Terry felt like grinning when their bones began to break during the impact.

Hard Gloves - Lv 05 (0/60 EXP) (Common)

Attack Power: 18

Defense: 24

Durability: 58/60

(Triple Attack: a quick sequence of punches that causes a devastating amount of damage. If the three hits land on the head of the target, it will be stunned for a second.

Cool down: 05)

"A skill that can only be used every five seconds, and the effect is pretty good. This, I like," Terry thought.

Things only got easier from that moment onward. With Triple Attack, Terry could even stop the Giants' attacks and make them fall as well.

While looking at that, Rebecca couldn't help but be astonished… It felt like Terry was getting even stronger. It was only natural that it would take time for someone to Master their trait, so there was a clear line of growth, but Terry far surpassed that idea with a very vertical growth line…

Although they still kept ambushing the monsters, Terry and Rebecca didn't face many difficulties dealing with the monsters. Their hunting speed that day increased by around twenty percent as well… in the end, Terry forgot to level up the wands since things got easier.

"We didn't find a single camp again today…" Rebecca said when they saw the portal. "Do you think there is something wrong with this dungeon?"

"We didn't find other people either, so maybe things won't be that simple," Terry said once they began to cross the portal.

"Yeah… I am going to check the items again," Rebecca said. "Please, wait for me at the truck."

In the end, Terry and Rebbeca made 34k that day. Still, even with that much progress, they couldn't see how they could get the dungeon… they couldn't fall on that either; a guild without a dungeon couldn't be taken seriously.

"Terry… what are you going to do about this?" Rebecca asked, visibly angry after letting me wait for twenty minutes.

"Wakanda nonsense is this?" Terry frowned. "You let me wait for this long, and you come pissed?"

"Because of what you said yesterday, weird rumors had spread!" Rebecca raised her voice.

Rebecca explained what had happened… not only people thought that Terry was her little brother, but people were also saying that they were in a relationship. That was really complicated on many levels… but Terry had better things to worry about.

"Who cares about that?" Terry asked. "That might hurt the reputation of the guild, but that rumor will disappear over time. Unless you are after my body."

"How many times are you going to say that…" Rebecca asked and then sighed. "My head hurts; I want to sleep."

Speaking of sleep, Terry wasn't that tired, so he decided to gain some experience with the wands by training… just swinging them around seemed like a waste of time. Still, it was better to use his time wisely. Thanks to that, by midnight, Terry made both wands and was finally tired enough to sleep.

Terry went to bed feeling pretty good, but he woke up with someone knocking on his door, and it seemed that Rebecca was still pissed.

"What is wrong?" Terry asked when he opened the door and saw Rebecca.

"There are… some people from the government outside," Rebecca said, looking a bit worried.

"I didn't even create the guild officially… what do they want with me?" Terry asked.

Rebecca shrugged, and then Terry went out to see some guys in suits in front of the apartment. A man with grey hair and a very forced smile greeted Terry.

"You must be Terry, the guild master of the Stormscallers," the grey-haired man said. "I am Louis, a representative of the government, and I came just to introduce myself."

"Couldn't you have done it during working hours?" Terry asked without hiding his displeasure.

"It is hard to know when hunters are working and when they aren't, so I came up earlier when I suspected that you would have been here," Louis said. "I am sorry for having bothered you, but I hope that we can get along in the future."

"Sure," Terry said while rolling his eyes.

"Have a nice day," Louis said and then left with his guards.

Terry snorted and then closed the door… he had a lot of things to say, but he couldn't since some people say that walls have ears.

"Terry… I am grateful for the chance to work with you, and I intend to be loyal," Rebecca said. "Still, you must understand if the time comes and I have to choose between you and my family. I won't think twice about choosing them."

"I wouldn't have trusted you otherwise…" Terry said. "Don't worry; I will play my card well before I do anything too drastic."

"I am thankful for your understanding," Rebecca said.

Rebecca was worried that Terry might create a situation where her family would be in trouble. He was a person hard to read, but it was clear that he had a problem with the current society.

She was correct, a society developed around hunters was created, and it couldn't have been helped since survival was the main goal of everyone. However, things could have been handled a lot better if some people hadn't tried to make themselves look more important than others…

Because of that society, Terry was considered someone without value, and his parents didn't even receive a proper burial, and now those that ignored him were making their move… which truly annoyed him. Still, he had a clear plan of how to change things, and he didn't have to rush…
