The world was peaceful until they came. Those freaking monsters that ravaged the world . The Oni. Human like creatures who took delight in the flesh and blood of humans. They came along portals that opened up in several places around Earth. For a long time, they caused chaos on Earth.

Until they came. The saviors of humanity. They were called slayers. They were humans who awakened special powers called grimoires. Grimoires either manifested themselves as weapons or special powers called affinity.

As time went on, the number of people who awakened their grimoires increased. An academy called ONI EXTERMINATION BRIGADE was created for young slayers to learn how to harness their grimoires. Meanwhile, those without grimoires were called civilian.

A middle-aged Man walked into a building that looked like a local dojo but was infact a house. He had black hair and blue eyes. He Was wearing a black kimono with blue hakama and a white haori over it. He also had a large sword strapped to his waist.

As soon as he entered the house, a young boy about thirteen years ran towards him. The boy had black hair and looked exactly like the man. Only that he was younger.

" Hello, dear Yuta, how are you doing?", the Man smiled as he received the boy into his arms.

" It was fine father", Yuta smiled as his father rubbed his head.

"has", His father,Okata exhaled" it's been three months since I last saw you".

" How did the mission go", Yuta asked his father.

" it was okay, although we lost many men, it was a success", Okata said" where is your mother?".

Just then, a middle-aged beautiful woman with hazel brown hair walked in from inside the house.

"Okata, you came back", she exclaimed" I was scared you would not return" .

" why wouldn't I, you seem to forget that I am the chief of this clan and also a B rank Slayer", Okata bragged hugging his wife.

The young boy reached for the sword on his father's side. The big sword seemed too large for the young boy to Carry.

"careful with that grimoire, will you Yuta", Okata said. The boy rubbed the grimoire pleasantly. It was his father's signature as a slayer. Okata's grimoire__ Dragon vonneisuer.

Okata was spending the peaceful and happy moments with his family when a young man barged in the room panting heavily.

" chief, the village is under attack from an Oni", the young man shouted. Shock and fear were immediately written on Okata and his family's face. He grabbed the dragon vonneisuer from his son and ran after the Man.

That day, an Oni caused rampage, killing almost everyone in the village. All the slayers were no match for him as the Oni was a S rank.

They all Lost faith and began running away.

Okata, wielding his grimoire was trying to fend off the oni who was very fast.

" You puny humans are no match for me", the Oni smirked. His face was filled with the blood of his victims. He looked exactly like a human, he was even wearing samue and geta on his feet.

The only difference was that he had pale skin, sharp claws and a horn sticking out of his forehead.

Okata swung his sword towards the Oni but the monster dodged and sent a kick towards his jaw. Okata fell back spouting blood.

He wasn't fighting for himself, instead he was fighting for his family. A messanger had already been sent to the Capitol to get a slayer who could handle the Oni. The slayer would be here anytime soon. He just had to hold on till then.

The Oni smirked and stepped on okata's chest.

"ahhhhh, here I was, thinking I would find a worthy opponent, it turns out this village is not what I expected", he sighed.

" let him go", someone shouted.

The Oni turned back and saw a woman with brown hair with a young boy behind her.

"sira, what are you doing? run!!", Okata shouted still under the Oni's foot, The dragon vonneisuer by his side.

His young son was sobbing.

The Oni smirked and stretched his hands towards the woman. A black like aura came out of it, taking the shape of an arrow.

The arrow left the Oni's hand with speed and struck the woman's heart. She fell down dead.

" noooooooooooooo", Okata screamed.

" I hate noisy people", the Oni said and stepped on his head crushing it in an instant.

" fa.....there, mother", Yuta swallowed hard, tears running down his cheeks.

The Oni walked towards him .

"ahhh, young one, don't worry they've gone to a better place..... where ever that is", the Oni smiled" and you'll be going to meet them there too". the Oni laughed maniacally.

He raised his Sharp claws and dipped it into the boy's chest pulling out his heart immediately.

The young boy felt his world spinning. He didn't understand why he wasn't dead yet, even though his heart was gone. He fell besides the dragon vonneisuer which immediately disappeared.

Yuta felt the world around him blur.
