Damn, I am Yasopp

"...What a trash."

Scrolling through one particular chapter of One Piece, one middle-aged man snorted.

"The sea called me? What? How's that an excuse for you leaving the family, huh?!"

It was decided. Starting from this day, Yasopp was this man's most hated pick.

"What's wrong with Usopp, bruh? Why are you proud of this scum who wasn't even by the side of his wife during her death? Also, what's wrong with his wife?! Proud of him?! Proud for what?!"

This man, practically fuming against a 2D character, screamed at his lungs.

"Go kill yourself, Yasopp!!! If I were to be in your place—"

__________

"...Haa... and that's what 'I' said before falling asleep... or is it that I, Yasopp, dreamed of someone trash-talking me? What kind of identity crisis am I facing here?"

Currently sitting on the outskirts of Syrup Village, Yasopp sighed.

"Who knew stuffs like these are real? Like what, transmigrating and possessing the body of one alive person? Ugh, can this be considered as one? I mean, I'm that guy from the world named Earth, but also Yasopp of the Syrup Village. These years of life experience I accumulated as Yasopp can't be hallucination!"

Scratching the back of his head, Yasopp thought in a grimace, wondering what he should do now.

"Ah, whatever. This does confirm one thing I guess; no thug's life for me. No way in hell am I leaving the two."

"OI, YASOPP!! I'M BACK, DAHAHA!"

Then, someone's distant shout was heard from ahead. Raising an eyebrow, Yasopp stood up,

"...Shanks?"

Shanks, along with many more crew members on the large ship, waved his hands,

"Heya, Yasopp! So you haven't forgotten me, have you?"

Yasopp asked in caution,

"...What are you doing here?"

His right hand slowly reached for a pistol strapped on his waist, ready to combat if necessary. Shanks, noticing Yasopp's hostility, raised his hands up with a troubled expression,

"N-No! I'm not here to fight you or your folks! Hey, I'm just here to ask if you're ready to join us now, ya know! Didn't you say something like how you would like to go on an adventure..."

"Nah."

Shanks couldn't continue his words. After all, Yasopp, staring back at the red-haired man in a plain expression, refused the offer in the middle of his sentence.

"...Listen, Shanks." In seriousness and conviction, Yasopp said, "The most important thing in life will always be family."

"But... but..." Shanks pleaded, "We're friends, aren't we?"

"I don't have friends. I have family."

Shanks, seeming frustrated, tried to reason, "Don't you want to explore the cool islands in the Grand Line? And experience that New World that you've always been dreaming of?"

"Everyone's looking for the thrill... but what's real is family...!"

Shanks, pulling on his hair, said, "You'll get strong! Like hella strong! You get to fight against tons of strong dudes too like a macho man you know! Isn't that all men's romance?!"

"There's nothing stronger than family."

"..."

In the end, Shanks slumped in disappointment and mumbled, "...You changed, Yasopp."

"Yes I did, for the better. After all..." Replied Yasopp, "You don't turn your back on family, no matter what."
